So you fill it up all the way and lightly pack it? I never really took measurements when using the Pax or eq so I'm kinda being conservative. I should measure what I use in the Pax and eq.and try the same amount here and see what's up. I barely had any in there this morning and it seemed like it smoked better after the first ten minute shutoff. Like it needed a warm-up or something
If it smokes you are in trouble :myday:
jokes aside smoking is considered a dirty word around here, vaping much more acceptable.

So the air has better airflow than the new Solos (which I haven't tried by the way, last one I had was a M107 and the draw was quite hard)?

Yeah its a bit better than the 2014 Solos, but not thaaaat much different. Part of it is the new mouthpieces are really well designed for the oven (I take out the gasket and just use the delrin and glass). Never had any trouble passing around Solo in a group, and haven't been having any trouble with the Air either. The Air is better for me bc it handles low temps incredibly well, but high temps are still here and great through a bubbler!

If you want to save, get a Solo. Its like the budget option, and if it fits your needs go for it. Personally I plan on selling mine now that I've got the Air though

@shawn0223 try just sticking the stem into your full grinder, it should gently pack itself that way. Then just tamp it a little with your pinky, and wipe off any kief from the outside and edge of the glass. I always have great clouds this way even on blue, a full pack is still only like .1g this way I think, or less even. I've done this with dry and moist herbs working fine pretty much

My bowls seem to be the same size @natural farmer, i think there's just some variation piece to piece with glass, my long stem fits tight and my shorty is looser but both are snug with no wobble and stay put (though occasionally short stem comes out if it sticks to the 14mm adapter from too much force. Usually by someone else using it in the bubbler, not me)

@Starless... How you been doing with the air? Been quiet lately. I got mine and can't seem to get it working right. Lol. Hate having to learn new things lol. Whenever it was hitting, it was waaay smoother and cleaner than my pax. But it also took longer to get going than my pax. Might have to "take a break" from work and go do another test bowl here in a bit

I've been loving the Air. Hmm, maybe you should try leaving the stem in for a littke bit while it's heating up. Makes the first hits much bigger.

I noticed that the air has alot more vapor comming out of the mouthpiece compared
to the solo, I guess this is because of the shorter airpath.

Even though it is storming out in normally sunny San Diego my postman just brought me a wonderful surprise!

I know that this has been said a million time but man this thing is so small. I have big hands and I can pretty much completely conceal it in one hand!

For comparison's sake, if you are coming from combusting and own an incredibowl m420 it is basically the same height and diameter as that device.

Time to charge it up and do a few burn ins!

Finally today I recieved my Air, after it being more than a week here in customs.
(plus I had to pay an extra 150$ to customs )
I'm not sure if anybody already noticed in this thread, but this thing is much smaller
than it looked in the pics ;)
With my first 2 back2back sessions I had the feeling it works as good as the solo, not
better, not worse. It's a solo in a new package.
I like it, I love it, I keep it.

Now over to other things :

watch out for the spear of pain, stay away from it when medicated or you can stab your
self to death. I had the box open for 5 minutes and I already pricked myself.

the box it came in was just an ugly cartboard box. It took some of the unboxing fun away.

The included stems were both of a lesser quality, one has an askew bottom part (the part with
the air holes that goes in the bottom) and the other has bumps at the edge of the glass part that goes into the oven. None of these are an issue for me personally or for vaping results.

The new stems are a tiny bit smaller in diameter, my screens that fit pretty well in the solo stems
are a tighter fit in the air stems.
I really like the smallest stem, it has the smallest herb chamber of all my stems (air and solo)

I really like this vape, but I'm sure I'm going to love it once I can buy an external charger or when I know if I can use my cera's tenergy charger.

hey man, I'm wondering when you ordered yours? I'm in austria and am trying to get an estimate from someone who ordered one thats 'far away'

canda post shipped mine with the 'xpress international'

how many days have you waited from start to finish? the guys in austrian post, i think they like their wine too much and thus are a bit slower at the job, haha but maybe I'm wrong... anyways thanks.

can't wait to get this unit, waiting is the worst haha!

The sound of vapor
I've ordered mine on a Monday before their afternoon and received it in UK the next monday (for $55); and it's spent the weekend at the delivery depot. Mind you my parcel skipped the customs so that obviously shortened things a bit.

I'll only say one thing about the Air for now: I have an ascent and an elevape SV and since I've received the Air I've felt like I've finally found out what vaping is.

About the sleeve: I don't have one yet but I'm planning on getting the black one once available at Vapefiend and was thinking of cutting the bottom of it at the same length as the part that unscrews to access the battery and even possibly cut some thin rectangular holes where the oven is to match those opening that already exist to ventilate, @those who owns a skin already: do you think it's doable without ruining the look of the skin?

...I plan on selling mine now that I've got the Air though...
its funny...i got rid of/in the process of getting rid of a zap, dbv, and essential/eclipse vapes & was thinking about selling my solo too...but i think of it more like using the old iPad and i just got the new iPhone. it still uses the same accessories (stems) as the old iPad and they are both almost the same device other than size, so I'm going to hold onto the solo for some reason...

i know i said i was going to use it raw dog (condomless) but i haven't really taken the condom off yet (i stick the stirring spear in there to help get debris out when dumping stems). i have taken the black swivel cap off & store the air upside-down inside the belt case.

Can we get some more pics guys? I want to see what the Air looks like with the short stem as apposed to the long stem. Also would like comparisons of Solo vs Air with short stem size wise.

Also more videos would be great, I am definitely going to get one soon so for now videos and stuff is the hold over.

No question!

My favorite solos were a m104 and m107. Air airflow is GREATLY improved over all old solos and is certainly night and day from these older ones.

Air is great for sharing with a group. I pass mine around wit 4-5 people regularly.

Here's a pic of the shorter stem. The short stem with the Air is more harsh so you may need to use a lower temp. The bowl sizes are the same verses the long or the shorter length. The bowl size with the Air and the stock Solo stems are the same size.

With a shorter air path it only goes to reason that it will be more harsh.

Thanks for the pic man. That helps. So just take off the mouthpiece and push some damp cotton down there, then screw the mp back on?

The reason I was concerned about the screen is because I've never used a solo. I have the arizer extreme q which is top loaded and uses a screen. The pax is loaded from the bottom so worries there. You guys just pack it down in the stem really tight with a pen or something? Figured that's the only way to keep it from falling out. Also, how noticeable is it if you do use the wet cotton? Does it significantly help with the dryness of the vapor?
I used to sandwich my herb in the solo with two screens.

When I use it now I pack a bowl and let the solo heat up on its side. The heat will cause the herb to get sticky and keep it from falling out of the stem.

Now I just use one screen to keep from inhaling my herbs.

maybe @shawn0223. just experiment. if you can weigh some out do that and see what your best option is. sometimes less is more, as long as your load has some airflow to touch all your herb your good and cloudy

Have done 3bowls today on and it's getting better lol. I'm used to packing tight since I had the Pax. It's aLearning process lol

lmao I agree, but everyone knew what meant lol.

Is there an added benefit taking out the little white gasket thing in the mouthpiece? Also, how effective is this in groups? Just wondering since the bowl size is limited in the little stem

Tried that and it seems to be working better, cave really experiment at work lol.

I don't use any screen at all. The glass already makes it's own screen

I had @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd make me an octopus stem for the Air to more closely resemble a Air stock stem and match my Nano's octopus stem. It came out amazing just as I had anticipated. The fit is ever so slighly looser than he makes the Solo stems and it really fits a lot nicer in the Air. Of course it also fits and performs great in the Solo as well but is a bit rattly without a 113 seal in there (but that's solo talk, not air related)

Shit @exit that's absolutely gorgeous dude, love octopi and squids, I tried making a ceramic coiled octopus bong for myself back in college but it got messed up in the kiln unfortunately (one day, when I have the proper tools, I will try again!). I actually have $30 with @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd already so maybe this is what it will go towards... I had been leaning towards getting an 18mm underdog gong

@shawn0223 yeah the airflow gets really restrictive if you pack too tight here and in the Solo, its best to have a medium grind lightly packed as I described bc of the convection properties here, Pax is all conduction basically. I know you'll get it down.

Removing the gaskets is for simplicity sake, and a little airflow boost too. I feel like they offer nothing positive for me. I also don't use screens, never ever get herb in my mouth

The one I ordered last night for the Brother-in-law's Christmas present yesterday, shipped today and is due on the West Coast (enters US in NY) is due Wednesday, I'd say you're good if you move quickly.

Yes, I like the guy, enough to not get him the Solo I'd planned and spring for more bucks. In his case, one is as good as the other but stealth is important (he still has a job you see). Please don't tell him.......

One thing I haven't heard too much talk about is the case that comes with the Air. I have been using it and it is really a well built little case. The padded aroma tube pouches are perfect. It is nice that Arizer provided a case of usable quality with the Air because so often those little things are compromised in favor of greater profits. Things don't have to be expensive they have to be just good.

true! it looks like a plan old belt clip but it can hold any 2 stems i want fine. i have my either fancy JoDa one in one side or solo bent stem in one pouch while the longer Air stem sits in the other one. the top is long enough so that if you have a stem inserted you can wrap it around and still close it. i also really like the case.
