problemchild, if you are having buyers remorse now, I would be willing to bet you will forget all about that once you use it. I come from an old glass dome conduction vaporizer from the 90's. I thought that was the bee's knees when I first tried it, this is way way different. How you pack the bowl and how you draw the vapor defines your experience.

Using Crafty is EASY but there are some tips, we all cover them through the thread. Biggest one for me was, grind the herb up good and make sure you pack the bowls fairly tight with either full load of material or partial load with the oilpad snug on top. I pack a 1/3 bowl and get nearly 8 hits combined between 180C-210C. I have been so high that I wanted to come down multiple times.

My way to vape is to let it heat up to set temperature, sip slowly for 5 seconds, then go for it full speed sippin for 10+ seconds...longer if you can handle the vapor, it will make you choke if you're not careful.

The screen in the top mouthpiece holes are way too big for my grind, you can replace it with the fine screen which is included in the kit. If you plan to vape loose leaf, which i dont recommend, the oilpad does quite well at keeping ABV dust out of the cooling chamber.

The battery life. What do we really expect, no miracles here, it's a single 18650 battery looking to be between 2500-3000 mah. 4-5 sessions going between 180C and 210C in my house which is current 60F, not really a bad deal, it can be recharged in about 90 minutes. Perfect time to re-up once it's re-charged, yeah?

It's a lot of money and we are fortunate to be able to afford it. I can't compare it to other portables on the market now, so my word is one of limited knowledge, but I will say that it is indeed a great vape and in my opinion worthy of the pricetag. In the coming months and years, it will be decided if the price was right. So far for us, we have two and the they both run strong.

I'm amazed at how quickly, effortlessly, and easily this thing can kill a load. It looks to be about as much material as a Pinnacle Pro bullet but the effects are better and are produced much more reliably, with almost zero attention to process.

I pulled the trigger and got me an xmass present. But, but, now getting 'buyers remorse' after watching wizard puff's stoner chick saying: the herb gets used up too quickly, not very efficient!

Don't quite understand how you have buyer's remorse BEFORE you've even tried the product?

Just relax til it come in, load a bowl, and I'd be willing to bet your "buyers remorse" disappears.

And the Crafty is amazingly efficient, there's absolutely no need to worry there. If she did in fact say that, she is completely wrong.

Something strange occurred last night where all of a sudden the temperature on the app and unit dropped from 398 down to 90 in about 5 seconds flat like it auto shut off possibly because the battey was low or temp to high? It's was all good after a nice charge but it sort of freak me out.

@problemchild I assure you after having owned the pax, firefly and mflb there is no room for remorse. There simply is not a better portable device and I think you have a high number of reasoned voices here telling you the same. Tell you what, If you don't like it I'll buy it. I'm selling my firefly. Hopefully that tells you something about how I feel about The Crafty!

That's what made me decide to jump brand, the boys with 1000 + posts liked it enough to defend it ;-)

Buddy... In the last 4 years or so that I am vaping, and it's not a long time I know, I have tried about a dozen of the top portables in the market cause that's what is right for my lifestyle! Can't stay plugged. I need to be mobile and take my medicine everywhere I go. And after the MFLB it was mostly convection vapes for me as I immediately recognised their superiority over the conduction ones in all sorts of ways! Well, there was always something to make me unhappy... I still haven't found anything wrong about the Crafty and I have a shit ton of complaints about all the other "top" ones!
It really is a game changer! I am perhaps the poorest vaporist in this forum money-wise (getting by with less than 100€ per month in total) but I did everything I could to get this one! I even sold my beloved Lotus and people here do know how much I love it! You really can't go wrong with this unless you need a "party" vape. That's where the Mighty excels...

bold claim ;)

I feel the need to jump in and talk about efficiency... I think there is no such thing as absolute efficiency when it comes to herbal vaporizers, unless your lungs can instantly absorb an infinite quantity of volatilized cannabinoids. it can only be discussed in relative terms.

you can optimize a device for maximum efficiency in terms of time, so that in a single draw, more content is extracted than can possibly be absorbed by your lungs. this approach is really fun. or you could optimize it for maximum efficiency in terms of energy and raw materials consumed, which would mean multiple draws, gradually extracting the content over a longer period of time, allowing more to be absorbed by your lungs. this approach is more time consuming, however it is relaxing and probably stretches your herb a bit more.

I can drive to work at 100+mph and get there much quicker, however when I get there I will be stressed, and I will have burnt more fuel and put more strain on my car. or I can relax and go the speed limit, which will take longer, might possibly get boring, but will save gas and wear and tear on the car. both are efficient - one in terms of time, the other in terms of energy.

ok, I think I'm better now. I saw some argument about efficiency and needed to post this. efficiency is just one of those English words that constantly suffers from too much ambiguity

For me efficiency means using the least amount of herbs, minimum electric or butane energy and least amount of time. And these factors for me are fulfilled by loading tiny loads, vaping them at max temp and doing it in one or two minutes.
I really can't see how stretching a load is efficient… Relaxing yes, but efficient?

stretching a load over several draws as opposed to draining it all in one big cloud increases efficiency in terms of total cannabinoids absorbed by your lungs per given quantity of herb.

if I load .1g into a vape and extract it all in one massive cloud, I believe I am wasting a decent portion of active compounds. My lungs can only absorb so much in a 20 second draw. However if I take that same .1g and extract it more gradually, over say 5 or 6 draws, I believe I will absorb a greater total quantity of cannabinoids, due to the fact that I did not totally overload my lungs. hence, increased efficiency in terms of your herb consumption

it's possible that you could still absorb most of the actives in one draw if you use a tiny load, as you say. but what if you did it in 2-3 hits instead? would that result in a higher concentration of cannabinoids in your bloodstream? maybe? maybe not? I don't know... we need some science here. and it probably varies from person to person

It's tiny loads that give good efficiency for sure… I don't think I could absorb .1g in one hit as well!;) And with those tiny loads if you go low temp you don't have the joy of a good cloud and the taste and aromas are weaker. And even with Crafty at max temp it's 2-3 draws not one, you are right there! I could one hit with Lotus but didn't get as high, I think I wasted a lot this way… But the Lotus climbed above 232C for sure. :)

EDIT:
I was going to say the same about puffwizard lady, lovely eyes and all but thats were it stops for me!

Mate? I love your avatar so much I am going to use it with my Skype! Hope you don't mind… :D

Can you turn boost mode off without having to turn the unit off and on?

Not that I'm aware of. The only way I know to go from Boost to Normal is to turn the Crafty off, then back on. Takes less then 2 seconds though.

So for whatever it's worth I ground up some fine material and filled the craft nice tight tamp but not to tight. I empty it out and fill the pax chambef and it only fills 3/4 of the pax chamber. Now I know that I'm getting more extraction from the crafty because I get as much if not more than a fully packed pax . Crafty about 9-12 tokes per chamfber. The pax about 6-8 max and those last to taste like shit. So in summary I'm using less material and getting more medicine/vapor. What am I missing?

You can by simply double pressing the button again.

And man, some nice discussion going on here and I hate that I hardly can't take part anymore due to the fact that this nice haven has been stupidly blocked by the blue coat web filter at work, and this is the only place I really got time for the webs, kinda officially.
(It's blocking it for some weird reason btw and this might be easily avoidable for the webmasters..who's the one here I might address this to? Not only for selfish reasons, but it's a common web filter and as a consequence limiting FC's operating range!)

Anyway back to the Crafty and the efficiency discussion: not much to add here. To me it's efficient because I still smoke a lot of doobies and with not having to worry about supply my tolerance got sky high, but this thing gets me always well medicated in between with less herb and equally low hassle, plus it's so stealthy that I can medicate places I couldn't before, thus making it possible to process even more herb per day, much efficient I'd say :D

But I got one issue with the machine that no one really hasn't mentioned before: it's not so cool and nice to my lungs as all others here seem to experience it. Ok maybe not bad to my lungs, but I get this tickling feeling in the throat that makes you cough, not a slurmy cough deep down from the lungs but a irritated one. So I actually need to pay a tiny bit of attention to the puffs..I can't take too long and big hits and have to sip in between. Only experienced this before with the eNano when filling up too huge watertools or dry when the heat was too high. And yes I already use much lower temperature with the Crafty than what I'm used to, most of the session around 180° C. So ok, an avoidable issue, but sometimes I'd be more fun to pop even bigger clouds..

I usually feel my throat irritated when the cooling unit is in need of cleaning. Don't know why... Once clean there is no more irritation. :2c:
