@vapman other than Yew tree what other types of "exotic" wood have you considered using to make the Vapman.
Have you ever considered doing a custom wood Vapman. Similar to Andy at Epicvape, if I send him my wood he will use it to make me a custom E-nano.
I would love to see a custom Vapman made with some 2-tone Amboyna Burl.

Many different woods have been used for vapman already and there are still a lot we could use.
To me it doesn`t need to be exotic, in fact, I like the idea of using woods which grow in our back yards and forests. Yew tree is not really exotic, it just has been over used in the past, you can find yew trees in lots of parks and back yards, not in the forest anymore, though. Yew is my favored wood, it has qualities no other woods have.
So far I made vapman of pear tree, hornbeam, plum tree, olive tree, yew tree, american walnut, (the european walnut is not suited), australian silky oak and 2 other australian woods of which I don`t know the name and rose wood (not suited, it smells nice but too strong).
I will and want to make vapman in the future of cherry tree, apple tree, birch, ash-tree, a very limited series ebony, elm tree and many others I even don`t know yet.
I don`t know Amboyana Burl, looks interesting and I wonder how it smells, feels and looks like.
I love trees and wood, to me there is nothing better and more suited to make vaporizers. It is a superior heat insulator, easy to work with, ever lasting, good looking, non toxic and always different and interesting.
You are welcome to send in some wood for a custom made vapman.:)

Thank you,

vapman

he he I keep my filter clean and shiny otherwise herb sticks to it on the next bowl.
I generally rub it backward forwards on my jeans pocket to create friction heat and it comes up super shiny.
My crucible has a few dark spots on it like others here but im not worried so much.overheating and stripping the gold plate from the crucible wouldnt make me happy though.

the vapman is perfectly designed.i have had it hot and no sign of gold flecking off.mind you i cant say that about the mica.i find mica particles frequently on the wood base of the vapman.even though mica is inert, it makes me think of owning a basic or removing the mica but thats a drastic approach I feel.the particles shine and catch youre eye but wipe off.im very careful never to touch or clean the mica shield as advised and the golden rule for me with the vapman is never carry it in your pocket naked.always carry it in its egg if you are pocketing it.

What qualities do you look for in wood when making a vapman? What size blank do you normally work with?

I'm sure our good friend @Snappo can get what we need!!

I would LOVE a custom vapman! A basic was next on my list of purchases after my HI is done.

Now all we need is @Ed's TnT to finish developing a wong for us and my world would be complete :p

After becoming a true believer of the Gospel of Vapman, I've actually wondered why there isn't more wooden vapes out there.

The Vapman and the other vapman vapes, MFLB and logvapes... That's it right?

I would like an electric portable vape, I must admit. Ahhh dreaming...

For a wooden electric portable you could also take a look at the Firewood or VG Volta. Both can be a lot of fun, But neither have been used here at rudes place since i got my Vapmen.

The Daisy look like it's related to the VapMan!

And also the Finnish made Venus Vaporizer is largely made of wood.

My friend is talking about driving his sportscar to Switzerland this summer. Apparently there is a road he wants to drive on. Sooo @vapman where does one sign up for the factory tour? :haw:

I am not sure, if there`s not a tendency that the wood splits at the dark lines it could well work.
Vapman made of this would would be quite an eye catcher, I guess.

What about olive tree wood?

I made vapmans of olive tree, beautiful, dense and high quality wood.

Hello @vapman many thanks for all !!! I have 2 questions vapemaster.

What length of flame is better for the longer health of vapman's materials(mica, middle part.etc)? Small flame and many seconds, medium and average time or big flame and little time heating ?

I have herb that is kind of wet and moist. I dont know if it is beacause it is fresh or from moisture of the rainy winter. Can I use it on vapman when its wet or it is better to make it dry ? If I have to dry the herbs, Do you know a way to dry herbs easily without losing the effective ingredients?

Cheers!!

I have tried sticky charas for some months and pressed kief last weeks.

I experiment because of this liitle info with hash but I figured that with vapman whatever you do you get the effects somehow. I had help from Rene with some info with his absolute support mails.

At the start I was doing liitle balls with the soft sticky charas and spread it with tootpick. I found my nails was the best solution. I havent use any metal steel dab tool, have you, its good?

Then Rene told us that vapman its like an oven and doesnt matter if you spread the stuff so i put bulkier little balls arount the screen. The strange thing is that whatever quantity you use you can get almost too many hits. The clouds and hardness of inhaling i think differs.

If I heat very properly going up very slow (3-5 sec, medium flame) I think I can inhale 15-25 hits. In the start good flavour brown color soft stuff, in the medium black color harder stuff, in the last dry taste, black color like a cyst or bubble with little holes, and when the taste starts to be bitter I do the last 1,2 hits. I dont know exactly when its over.
I think we have then some extra many hits without burning but the taste and the vapor change and is strange.
Please tell me about when you think we have to end ? Rene told me its personal when you want to stop.

Also how much grams do you put in the screen? I saw @Philreal187 photo before and i put like 1/3 of this..

When i clean with toothpick the screen i have some black or brown powder or dust... but clearly not ash.

@gkaraman

I have pretty much the same experiences as you, when it comes to vaping traditional hash with the VapMan and the concentrate screen.

I don't know if you are talking about Indian style hand rubbed hash when you say Charras? I think mine is Moroccan, but it resembles what we used to call black afghani back before the American invasion of Afghanistan. This makes me think that it's Afghan genetics of some kind grown in Morocco, and possibly also made with Afghan techniques. But it is also likely that it's a newer breed of mixed landraces, seeing as how the Moroccan landrace is not really all that common in it's purest form in Morocco any more, from what I hear.

I too smeared the hash thin on the screen in the beginning. After reading VapMans "oven" post, I too stopped doing that, and found it to work just as well.

I actually don't know how much I'm using. It depends of course. Between under 0.1 and up to 0.2 I guess. It doesn't take much, but it's ridicolously effective, so you don't really miss the opportunity to pack more hash. I have the same experience as you - I get WILD amounts of clouds!

Sometimes I just stop early, and scrape of still sticky hash. I'm making coconut oil out of all my ABV anyways, so it doesn't get thrown away.

Usually though I vape it till it becomes this black powder that you speak of, that is clearly not ash. Everytime I try to keep count of the amounts of clouds I get if I pack it full I get so vaped I forget to count it after a while.

Maybe the 10-15 first hits taste really good, but it doesn't really taste that bad after that.

@hoyo77

Yeah, I think it's maybe time for the "Vaping traditional/import hashes" thread I've been threatening to make

On another note, I realized I had a big pyrex dish full of "concentrate dust" from a QWISO run. I couldn't get the last of the powder out to press it into a shattery consistency, so I took a sticky piece of hash and started rubbing it in the pyrex. And then I vaped it :whoa:

Extremly energetic head high mixed with the body high of the Moroccan hash. Old school meets new school. We have a winner here folx! :freak:

Very pretty indeed. When you tire of admiring it you might put a pinch of herb in and try heating it up some.

Many of us enjoy doing that as well........

Regards, enjoy your VM.....don't be too shy with the heat.

yeah what he said....then tell us about your experiences, we will gladly offer tips and suggestions
