Someone should make a video for using the Hercules sr74x. I have seen all that is out there, including Gary taking it apart. I was hoping THC Scientific can maake one. A lot of my friends have switched over to w9 because of my recommendations but we all use kiss carts because they are easy. Can you please make a video tutorial from the product being unpacked, how to clean, than assembly and use. That would be awesome. I have a hercules that I received a few days ago from w9 but haven't tried it because of how hard ppl make it out to be.

THANKS!!!!!!

Hi FC community. Have been vaping ejuice for 2 years now after smoking cigs for 10 years, but have recently quit nicotine all together. Started dabbing c02 goods recently but am tired of big oil rig set up. A interested in Persei because the CS sounds good, and reviews are strong. Not really sure what set up would benefit me best though. Should I get the Ti Persei or the 8? And what about the heads? Hercules or okeanos? I like the idea of a pocket bubbler. Im just confused which heads are used for which applications. There seem to be so many variations. I am going to be doing mostly winterized oil. Would I have to get two different heads if I also wanted to do shatter? Thanks for your help in advance!

Persei and 8 heads are similar with 8 being a mech that you can service yourself. If you dont want to load as you go, the herc is the way to go, but nibbler xl isnt pocket friendly unless your 6'5" and have large pockets. Either will run the hers, but you can run an okeanos/kiss on any of the w9 tech line including the omicron series. Shatter is best in my opinion, but almost any (bho) concentrate worka great. Just not too runny of a consistency.

Ok so I am more interested in the 8 I think anyways so thats good news, which herc do you suggest? A lot of people like the 71 but its going out the door although there are still a few available. Maybe I will just have the bubbler attachment handy, for the herc it has to be the XL, none of the other ones will fit, correct? I have access to THE best/ cleanest co2 shatter through my med group, but everyone there does big glass rigs so I can't ask anyone these questions.

The SR71 will require a larger learning curve and probably give less flavorful, bigger hits on batteries than the SR74 however gives you more to play with if you use a core to explore low voltage vaping

So sr74x should be easier?

I have the herc sr 74, no x... the only thing i want from the x is the unthreaded top cap. I would get sr 71 if i didnt have a v1 top, as soon as i can drop for a v4 and 71 i will. The 74 is a fucking tank. I had problems starting out like everyone else, but since i found my sweet spot i havent adjusted shit. I have my rod completely collapsing the spring and the connection so sure that it literally has to be bathed in a gram of shatter reclaim to not work. Ive torched the spring loaded gold pin to a nice matte black and it still fires.

Edit: running v1 top with 3.7v herc 74 with 35amp lg 650's

Lgdbhe21865 when they were new 6 months ago theyd last me almost a full day of solid vaping. I have a high consumption rate as well. Now it seems they dont die, they just dont hit as hard without some patience. Again these poor things are now charged 1 to 2 times a day, and have probably seen their capacity dwindle from my lack of concern or proper care for the cells. In any event, its a testament to their reliability. Vtc 5s are no longer in production so its likely to end up with fakes. Theres a whole article on spotting fakes if you google it.

Sorry, allow me to summarize:

1 get persei/8
2 get herc-any herc
3 get badass batteries
4 get nibbler xl
5 have a plentiful supply

Hopefully that is more succinct than my jesus og shatter - fueled diatribe earlier.

From personal experience I like the Sony VTC5 over the LG. The VTC5 provided me with better results and consistency. Rumor has it that the VTC5 is back in production. Seems like the discontinued VTC5 rumor cause everyone to stock up ASAP. This ran the supply dry quick. Time will tell...

I heard it was just a temporary shutdown from a factory getting destroyed and they already moved to another location and started making them again ? maybe i just read wrong somehwere.

Guys I was in your position I would stick with IMR's.

It's just safer.

Are the lg's not imr? I did alot of research before buying them, so id be very surprised to find they are not... also, any guess for herc ti coil availability?

Edit: Im too medicated to deal with batterys at this point... but seriously curious about ti coils coming back?

The LG's are not IMR's they are ICR's.

The difference being that if an ICR is to vent, it is much more likely to vent violently with flames or an explosion.

What are the chances that would happen? I don't know, but I sure don't want a battery with that type of chemistry near my face.

Hate to argue with you, but the lg dbhe21865 batteries are not icr. I have triple checked this already tonight. Unless you have solid proof to link to, someone is lying to you.

Brick and mortars are expensive, but at least you can check the batteries before you buy. Look around online but know that fakes are prevalent and rewraps abundant.

Edit: the aw imrs on the w9 site are fine, i bought a used unit and had the lgs readily available without shipping.

Well, @quantumcloud509, you can find them... as answered quite a few times in the last few pages:

The AW 18350's most of as are familiar with, the ones I linked, are a 700mAh (2.6 watthours) battery. I just happened to poke over to RTD Vapor since they carry a lot of batteries and found a "NEW" series of "black-striped" AW's. They seem to have a slightly higher milliAmp hour rating: the "New 18350" are labeled 800mAh & 3.0Wh, and they have double the "max continuous discharge rate" at 12 Amperes! Whoa!

They have a new 18650 rated to 2200 mAh and 20A discharge too.

Think I've seen them on kidney puncher too

The aw 18350's we have in stock are the brand new Aw versions, we just need to update the site and that will happen this week.

Nothing beats lighthound.com
They have have it all, the new AW batteries too (just look for the black strip on them).
Prices are the best there too, if only by a few $.

No need to have an argument, a simple discussion will suffice. If they are truly IMR's then all is well.

All I could find was equal amounts of conflicting information on the subject, and all coming from distributors and not the manufacturer.

Since I found the same amount of vendors labeling them as ICR as I did labeling them IMR, my mind automatically put them in the same category as the other popular LG's that are known to be ICR.

If I am wrong then I apologize and retract my previous statement. I still can't find 100% certified proof that they are IMR's though. If you have such proof then please do share, I wouldn't mind having another suitable battery option.
