Please Help with Vg Tincture

Dear FC community,

Nice place you all have here. I'm hoping that your membership can offer some advice on increasing the potency of my VG tincture.

2 month ago I started my cold extraction using about 15 grams of light brown ABV. Shook twice a day. Yesterday I loaded up my e-cig with the tincture. Ran through a whole tank, felt nothing. Next I tried placing a few drops of tincture under my tongue, still with no success.

I've gone back with some research and I think that I have found the problem. It looks like I messed up the ratio and used way too much VG. I used about 12oz VG when I should have used more like 3oz.

So here's the question; how can I salvage the tincture? I assume the standard response is to add more ABV. Unfortunately I am dry, adding more ABV is impossible. Is there any way to concentrate the tincture to make it more potent?

Um, have you tried using fresh ingredients rather than ABV? I think that's your problem right there. ;)

Anyway, I have never used the words "strong" and "tincture" used in the same sentence, maybe try vaping or edibles, especially if you have a high tolerance?

A tinciture for sub-lingual can be bloody strong. In an e-cig I've never experienced "strong" effects

Since the boiling point of VG is 554°, I don't think it's practically possible to concentrate it. In theory you could heat it until it boils down, but the extreme heat required may adversely affect the chemical composition and you might end up cooking off all the actives.

Take the infused vg you have now and use it as a base for a new batch of tincture. When I was first making vg liquid, I did exactly the same thing. I was using a double boiler type method: ground bud and the vg in a sealed mason jar, simmered in a water bath. So, I took the weak infused vg, put it back in the jar, added more bud, and did the whole process over. If you have a lot of solution, you can always use a little bit at a time to make your stronger tinctures.

Hope that helps. :-)
