know what's great about owning the MFLB and the eclipse H2O GonG?

BOTH CAN BE USED WITH MY BONG VERY EASILY :D

i own both of course, and found out i could easily hook up my MFLB this way. gotta go find some 7-8mm inner diameter tubing for a cleaner look.

and the basic set up, though i think this is the best way now. cooling for bigger hits, and the already existing benefits of the MFLB.

i'm really happy with this now. btw if anyone likes to use oils/earwax a lot the Eclipse is AMAZINGLY efficient/effective with this medium. it's hard to watch people waste so much on glass nails/Ti plates.

:uhh: Dude.

Take some Goo Be Gone or similar to that battery. I use WD-40 and a paper towel, takes about two minutes per battery.

Hey everyone I just made a new topic under general vaping discussion specifically for different techniques used to hit the MFLB. This is so people do not have to search through hundreds of pages to find this information on this topic.

If anyone has any good techniques please post them there!!

Im sure those who are interested probably know already but Magic Flight confirmed to me today that the car adapter for the PA is currently unavailable. I wasn't given a time frame but read 7 weeks somewhere in this thread.

My PA should be on my porch right now, can't wait until 5:00! If I'm not too vaked I'll throw my :2c: out there regarding it.

thanks for the tip! :) i only just picked up these powerex 2700's after trying a few other mid 2000 mAh, so i hurriedly put off the plastic since these have been the biggest pain to strip out of the ones i've tried. it honestly hasn't effected the electrical connection at all, i cleaned up all the parts that make contact with the circuit inside.

I was just field testing a thin plastic straw when I think I noticed something useful - I think I can improve my mflb temperature control by touch - pinching a thin drinking straw "wand" and feeling it get hot as the vapour arrives?

This is an interesting tactic that seems to me would work very well, as I do something similar with stellar results. I take micro hits by repeatedly touching my tongue on the roof of my mouth while drawing. This allows the vapor to accumulate for a second or so, resulting in monstrous hits.

Discussion closed by a moderator (just as I was about to save my post!)

Seems like a valid argument - should not have an MFLB specific technique thread placed under a general topic.

OTOH wading through 410+ pages of posts makes it hard to find interesting stuff - although the vaporpedia article really helps. What to do?

Question for moderators and others: what would you recommend so we can partition the MFLB discussion more sanely without wrecking the structure of your fine forum?

Glad someone read it - please try it - I don't think I've completely lost my mind.

Yes, sipping/microhits are definitely useful techniques, but what I'm after is a more reliable way of minimizing combustion. Most decent vapes have some kind of thermostat built in that does it automagically for you - but with the MFLB, we have to find some other signal that things are getting hot in there...

Pinching the thin straw 'wand' allows me to make a kind of DIY thermostat for the MFLB - heating fingers remind me that it's time to let the battery go for a few seconds - air/straw cool down - battery goes back in - fingers feel heat again - rinse, wash, repeat. It really does work for me.

The intended structure was to have discussion here and the vaporpedia as a place for the final decision/technique/etc to be posted. The vaporpedia is open to all to edit, so if you want to discuss here and post in the pedia, go for it. So far this has worked well with the LB and a few other models. If you don't want to bury the discussion in this thread, maybe make a thread in the 'ask fc' forum that can be shut down and pedia'd later. Hope this helps!

Your tongue should accomplish the same thing in my experience, why deal with potentially inhaling plastic?

Anyone thought of a good way to cut through the stem?

I've tried a few different knives and such and it's such a chore!

I like to have a little nub on the end of the box :brow:

use a tubing cutter for gas lines and such.
a hack saw/ hack saw blade will work too get a fine blade.

al bundy,
Hey guys, got my MFLB in the mail today!!! I just wanted an opinion, as I realize I am probably rushing things as I am not familiar with this thing.. And I wanted to see if I was close to 'combusting' my bud.

This is the first trench I had packed, and right now I believe I had filled it a little bit too full..

img20110428155138.jpg

It doesn't look like what I have seen ABV look like before, like I had said, did I put too much in?

And on my second / third try (sharing with friend), I had put a different type of bud in there and made sure to grind it up as fine as I could.

img20110428161404.jpg

That's what it looked like when I thought it was finished.. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm kind of hard of learning new things lol, I just don't want to ruin anything really..

I figure soon enough I'll be vaping like the pros lol.

It looks like you packed a lot of weed in there, I would start with a smaller trench, and im not sure what the consensus is on fineness of the grind, but im pretty sure you want to break up your bud more, if you don't have a grinder you can get where you need to be with your fingers as long as your bud isn't ridiculously moist. The brownness isn't bad, grinding more and packing a smaller bowl is probably all you need to improve, and just be sure to shake your box a lot to mix things up and to get an even vape, otherwise you'll have patches of green, or patches of burnt, both are bad.

Good luck!

Appreciate the quick reply PhishCactus and thank you. I've been reading up on the Vaporpedia page as well.

I think I am going to invest in a 2-piece space case, as I've noticed the free grinder that Blisssville throws in isn't too practical lol. I am using a 4-piece right now, just flipping it upside down as I grind.

Does anybody keep the rubber band on while using the MFLB? One of the first times I had used it I noticed it looked like vapor was escaping from the top? I'm not sure if that was it or not..

And kief is achievable as long as it's sprinkled on top, correct?

kief can be used on it's own. i love doing that :)

yeah, the rubberband trick is a definite common one. look a page back and check out the bicycle tire suggestion.

If it is a brand new launch box it will run HOT, this is something that I have seen with each launch box I have owned. Don't feel bad if you are doing everything right and still charring your loads. I would recommend a faster draw rate from your mouth while you first break in the vaporizer, then later you can take slower draws and thats a whole new experience.

Your grind should be finer as well, and should probably contain less bud.

Good luck

Looks like you combusted both trenches. Finer grind, slower draw and you'll get there. Chocolate brown is the desired color of ABV, black is no good.

Good thought.
Yes, you're right - the straw suffers pretty badly so it's far from ideal for inhaling.

Pinched silicone tubing would probably also work - could be good for newcomers - a hit controlled by the "designated vaper" to demonstrate the idea...
I can't feel much temperature signal with my tongue (or fingers) when using the little acrylic wand oddly - it's thick walled I guess so has more heat mass than a thin straw.

PA rocks! Was hoping they had added some notches or numbering on the power dial but I'll likely customize that myself. Perhaps that's the point. Nonetheless I'm in full power and LOVING IT!:D

Kief can be used on it's own? I would imagine it could mess up the screen, no?

all the time, but only because i drop it sometimes and i dont want to lose my load :)

i've never noticed vapor escaping from the top tho, but i only checked when it was new, and that was over a year ago...

I think I read somewhere in this thread that there was a new and improved LB coming out soon that will sell in the 120 dollar range. Anymore details on this?

I know they're raising the price but I didn't hear a word about anything new or improved.
