^^ Because the first one does not have independent charging channels. You can only charge in pairs and as such, ESPECIALLY when using batts in devices that only use one batt, can cause charging imbalances between batts which is not a good thing.

Also, it doesn't indicate what charging rate it is using. It could be too high for prolonged battery life. Also, it doesn't have any functions and analyzing modes that can help keep your batts in peak operating mode.

But more importantly the path it has taken me. I have pretty much changed my direction for the next year and decided to travel than settle down which is massive for me.

Anyway I have just lost it knowing that the guy above me has a link to 3100mah batteries. Thats fucking insane!

Sorry for any mistakes and swearing but I have stalked this forum for a while and see there is a good bunch of crew here. Look forward to chatting to people here.

I'm curious, how do people feel about the push back in the new MFLB? I feel like it would be impractical with the PA.

I'm thinking about taking my push-back washer out. I've only been dry hitting (no herb, sadly) but my hand gets tired and I noticed my finger turning purple.
Not an issue with the PA, I'm happy to report. The adapter has an extra long nipple that extends through the washer. Power is applied by a spring-loaded push button on the end of the fake battery.

^^^ Stick the battery on your thumb or the palm of your right hand, grab the box over the top with your fingers and squeeze with your whole hand. No more purple finger. :)

I lost my push-back ring yesterday during the MFLB's first excursion out into the wild (the wild being the Peak District - basically some big hills if you aren't from the UK).
This is quite annoying as although I use the box without the ring myself, I always re-install it for when others are using it as they usually aren't as concious of the need to physically remove the battery rather than just take your thumb off it.

Also the actual metal contact-strip inside the battery hole has started to bend upwards, meaning I have to twist the batteries into a specific place, and then kinda push them from the bottom for a connection to be made. Ok for now but starting to get more and more annoying.

Now with the PA on the way I'm wondering if I need the push back ring again for it?
Also I'm wondering if once my box becomes unusable (as I think it's certainly headed that way) when I contact Magic Flight about getting another under warranty, can I ask to pay a little extra and get a Koa wood box or something as my replacement?

This is something I'll have to ask Magic Flight themselves for a definite answer I'm sure, but considering how incredibly lovely they've been in every contact I've had, it's worth a shot I reckon!
Also with replacements, do you get a new serial number engraved or are you allowed to ask for your original number to be written on the new box?

You will receive a new serial number, at least I did but I also didn't request to keep my old one. Worth a shot if your current number has some sort of special meaning.

No worries with the push back ring and the PA...You can leave it in or take it out...works the same both ways. The end of the PA that goes into the box has a nipple that is long enough that the push back ring does not bother it at all. With that said I have an older box and I bought a push back ring to try and I just didn't like it. I'm too used to not having one.

just a noteworthy story.

So I walk into my house, see my girlfriend on the couch and hear her vibrator going. I walk over and see her holding our MFLB up to her mouth with her tiny vibrator sticking out from underneath it. WTF I think to myself, with a smirk on my face, as I watch cluelessly for a good 25 seconds. She finishes up her hit, holds it in for another 30 seconds, and finally acknowledges my clueless-ly curious face staring her down.

then I put my bag down and sit next to her ... she shows me inside the MF as she turns on the vibrator (which is attached with the rubber band to the bottom side of it)

Its hard to explain but the vibrations make the plant matter literally rotate over itself within the trough. No more shaking! I called her lazy and then took my turn with the vibrating magic pleasure flight launch box. It works, try it! Maybe

also .. was out on a hike with my dualsport motorcycle. Reached for the MFLB and AHHHHHH ITS gone!!!! Spent the next 50 minutes retracing my steps, racing against sunset trying to find the wooden box among brown leaves and twigs everywhere. Then I gave up, and figured a brand new LB is in my future. good thing I didnt order one from my andriod, as I was navigating the trail in the other direction back home, A GLIMMER OF THE SILVER BATTERY CAUGHT MY EYE AND WE ARE REUNITED!!

I love my MFLB so much! Almost as much as i love seenig all the progress on this thread. time to load up the firefox extension "paginate", load all these replies onto one scrollable page, pop open a bottle of wine and grab my MFLB cuz its RESEARCH time! Cant wait for the PA to come out.. woo!! I might buy another MFLB to share with the gf. I have not even heard of this spring washer concept.

btw, bought an Iolite. PALES in comparison to the Launchbox, even if Iolite gets the user more vapor. No contest for me. Ive alread spilled 3 bowlpacks from the iolite. What a crappy design. Gonna go post in that thread with the enhancements I made to it that the manufacturer should have from square 1.

Anyway, I took my push back out, it's incredibly easy to do so as it isn't glued. I'll probably put it back because my friends use it and i don't want to be all frantic, lol.

Really thinking about getting the PA but I don't see much benefit besides saving batteries, for a huge inconvenience.

I haven't tried the PA myself yet (hopefully it will be delivered within the hour), but the main benefits I see for it are as follows:

(1) Batteries are the main (only?) recurring cost with the MFLB. By getting a PA, you eliminate that recurring expenditure. You're also going a lil greener by reducing the waste from used batteries.

(2) The PA comes with a temperature dial so that you can control just how hot your trench is getting for increased efficiency. Also, when using the box between a group of people, you don't have to worry about batteries dying.

That's what I came up with off the top of my head, but if anyone else can think of things to add to this list, feel free.

Dont forget that the PA is great for teaching new people how to hit the LB. You can pass it, crank down the temp a bit, and not have to worry about some noob charring your load :)

Received my PA today and all I have to say is Awesomesauce!

Has more then enough power to easily scorch if your not careful.

Going to make my wife a convert yet... :brow::brow::brow:

Only change I would make is to make the rotary dial a slide up/down dial thingy.
With the rotary dial you really only have the inside light to go by to see how much juice you got flowin.
We all know the lights won't last forever ... so ...

I'm all for finding a way to replace the rotary dial with something we can set reference points on.

Other then that, BRAVO MAGIC FLIGHT TEAM, once again you've blown my mind!

I can't wait until mine arrives. So I ordered it on Saturday and now I should expect to wait until my credit card is charged indicating there is a PA available to be shipped then I'll receive an email informing me that its been shipped? I thought I read that sequence somewhere a few pages back. Anyone have any recent wait times? I'm in Michigan.

They charged my card Thursday, shipped Friday from San Diego and got to me today in eastern WA.

Couldn't ask for more then that.

Dare I say it ... This could now be THE "one vape fits all".... to be continued... :lol:

Except its inability to use all but the driest of concentrates, mind you.

Recently I've been making sure to "top off" my batteries for a few hours before I actually need them. This has made quite a difference in vapor quality, even though I'm using batteries which are supposed to be LSD, and never let them sit for more than 2 or 3 days.

My launchbox is still going strong! I've had mine for ~13/14 months and it still hits great! I do have Powerex 2700's as well as the 9000 charger to boot so my bats are always pushing power! I also just received a vape or smoke, and after a few days with it, I still have to say that in my opinion the launchbox is still the best portable on the market when it comes to stealth AND taste(vape or smoke just tastes like butane or smoke to me...)

Also in case anyone is looking for a marked down Power Adapter, I got one for sale in the For Sale thread!

Few hours later, still LOVING my PA ... but it's a weird phenomenon, I'm not conserving but actually find myself using more medication then normal :brow:

Adding more, I can totally dial in that sweep spot, just awesome cool tasty vapor mannnnn

Few minutes more ... the song "Ghostbusters comes on... just magical ... "

MFLB + PA + Awesomesauce!!!!


A few minutes more later...

I'll note that I can get the draw and temp and everything just right so that my meds are coming out about dark brown but still taste yummy! How's that even possible? Slow roasting my friends :brow:

Let me also add I've had it plugged in non stop since it got here and nothing has gotten hot. None of the parts are even close to slightly warm. I'm medicating trench after trench. Want to make sure I give you all a proper review of the awesomesauce that is "the PA". :brow:
