RezBlock /Cranberry Extract

Assuming its safe, would you vape through anything other than water if it offered some benefit?

I have noticed lately that when I clean my glass (in very hot water) I get a very strong odor of the strain I am using, so I would be very surprised if SOME actives aren't being lost to the water. Since I'm not using any cleaning solution (normally) I do give the glass a good strong whiff when this is happening, but I don't know if I am getting anything from it. Smells good tho... ;)

Hmm I wonder if there is any way to get out the discoloration it can cause on the ground joints. Shaking up the solution to coat the stem and mouthpiece, where the water doesn't normally touch, would definitely wet the joint.

Finding the right ratio will be key. Enough to keep the glass clean, but not enough to trap THC.

So, I just have to ask. If the THC gets trapped in the water, has anyone drank it? Thinking about drinking dirty water (even one day's worth) makes me nauseated, but I'm sure someone has tried nonetheless?

1. RE trapping THC in water: My theory is that warm or hot water clearly traps less THC than cool or cold or ice water. The more that vapor is cooled, the more that condenses out, the more THC and flavor you lose. Not scientific but from testing--I find this to be true.
So, I usually heat my water in the microwave for my bubbler.
As an added bonus, warm/hot water also moisturizes the vapor much more than cool/cold so it actually feels like a soothing vapor, rather than a dry vapor.

2. Drinking bubbler water. I would NEVER drink water from combustion but the other day I was about to dump the 3 oz used water from my vape bubbler and smelled it. Interesting, it smelled very lemony so I did a test and did drink it. It tasted lemony and was not great but was not terrible either. Not sure if I'll do it again but I'm glad I tried it. You may want to experiment....

It does not so much stain the ground glass, as it leaves a pinkish hue where glass is unfinished...
such as in the cuts or slits of a downstem. That is where I noticed some pink ghosts!
And is there any way to remove said pink ghosts? lol. Salt/Iso? PBW?

special like everyone else
So I'm soaking with PBW and every other day, filling with distilled h2o and cran extract... this is cloud 9 for clear glass right? I can't imagine it getting a whole lot easier (thx FC) but I haven't lurked in a while...

Ever since this thread first opened I keep going back and forth on whether I like to use rezblock or NA. I have found that using straight water and keeping my hydratube in my little fridge works very well. I go about 3 days before I dump the water and then soak that piece in a jug of concentrated simply green. I use hemp fiber filters which cuts down on the biggest particles from condensating on my glass. I have been using the same tub of simply green that I put in 2 months ago and it is working fine still.

My problem with rezblock or NA or any of these other things is that they do a great job of keeping your glass clean where the rezblock is but it does nothing for the intake joints where vapor first flows through your glass. Those always get vapor condensate to build up forcing me to soak in SG anyways and my glass gets just as clean with or without rezblock/NA. If I had a piece like a Mobius 60t and not a hydratube then the rezblock can more effectively cover my whole glass. With Hydratubes though there is no good way for rezblock to keep the intake part clean.

For now I have been 2 months without any rezblock/NA and my hydratube is just as clean with SG.

After a few days of using NACE, I'm really liking it. You need to turn your water pink for it to work, for anyone else who is wondering. 3 drops in a gb-186 is enough for the desired effects. If you get the joint and neck wet before/after hits, it makes scrubbing the condensation off with a toothbrush very easy, without needing alcohol/sg/pbw or anything.

I find even PBW is overkill unless you have some fungal growth.

But yeah, my glass has never been cleaner because of RB. Every time I'm tempted to use plain water I think back to ISO shaking, lol.
I don't use chemicals to clean my house.
Vaporizing (steam) cleaning works well.
My glass is cleaned this way.

Question for the dabbers here. When using rez block or cranberry extract with your rig, does it prevent reclaim from forming that in turn maximizes a dab? Just bought extract and figured this would make sense.

I don't think anyone has measured it scientifically compared to just plain water. It seems like there is maybe a little less waste but its hard to measure.

Gotcha. I have a pretty good idea of how long it takes for reclaim to build on my daily driver before I iso it so I'll compare it to that when the extract arrives.

Ok, so I broke down and bought a bottle of Rez Block just now because I saw something that looked like white mold on the bottom of my bubbler. :uhoh: I don't think I will need any more than one drop in my Infamous Bubbler.

@Vicki - if you are having growth problems sanitize well after you clean your glass. This means a second rinse with something like OneStep or alcohol or bleach etc. . . @Enchantre and I have found a drop of iodine in your vaping solution can help, she uses a glycerin based tincture which I recommend over the alcohol one I'm trying to get rid of. One final thing is I have been vaping through ionized water as of late. The machine allows you to choose your PH level. By vaping through acidic water with a PH of around 3 or 4 I find things stay much nicer "in vitro". RezBlock will grow stuff just like the less expensive alternatives so your salvation lies in cleanliness . . . :)

I know, but I read that Rez Block has preservatives that my cranberry juice does not have, such as citric acid. That's why I went ahead and got it.

I dump my water and do a hot water rinse daily. I do a salt/91% ISO scrub weekly. You think I should use alcohol daily?

Oh thats right you were using juice, not recommended. OK so if you like the RezBlock you can buy Nature's Answer for a lot less. It has slightly more particulates in solution but seems to work well.

You may have stuff that is growing over time and hiding between cleanings so I suggest you start with a thorough cleanse/sanitation (utilizing more than one sanitizer and wash can help here) and then up your regiment from there. When I use PBW now I'm also using OneStep. Its not a certified sanitizer but appears to do the job when used frequently enough.

Cool, thank you! I never had this problem before I started using the cranberry juice. :(
