looking for my next portable vape

I've owned the vape genie (the original and the glass models) & the magic flight launch box as the main well known portable vapes I've owned. I've had a few other no name vapes but they sucked so bad and aren't with the mention.

I've been away from the vape scene for a while (To long honestly) & while away I've noticed the launch box has undergone some changes and there's a host of new vapes on the market and wondering if you folks can help me find my new go to daily on the go vape since I've sold off my other vapes long ago.

I am looking to the MFLB and the Maud-Dib combo but haven't been able to exhaust all my options so that's why I'm here for advice.

Things I'd like in my vape
-small easy to conceal
-not overly stinky (tried a few iolites and they were overly stinky on warm up and exhale)
-preferable glass mouth piece

Thanks for the suggestions and help i look forward to looking at all the suggestions.

Before anyone says i need to look in the portable vape thread i tried and lots of those threads are so packed full of borderline off topic stuff and distracting posts that it makes it hard to read through objectively and some of the sheer number of pages of posts also makes it a bit intimidating to try and sort through the useful information and the chaff.

Thanks again for your time and any suggestions as your input will be what helps me figure out what I'm going to buy.

Greetings!

Off the top of my head, I suggest you check out the Indica or the Pax for stealth (less taste, but very portable). If you want something with more taste, I suggest you look into the Davinci Ascent or the Arizer Solo (or the new Arizer Air which is an upgraded version of the solo, recently released)

If you want something very tasty and powered by a butane torch, I HIGHLY suggest you look into the Lotus or the Vapman - I have the Lotus and I swear with a little practice I can get vapor twice as dense as any other vape I own (one hit knockouts!).

The Solo is a classic king of the portables - a proven solid winner for years. It's currently the largest thread in the portables section (by a long shot).

Good luck in your search!

Thanks for the suggestions I'll check out some reviews and YouTube videos see what's what.

Also can someone help me understand what mew features the MFLB have? I see the price has gone up steeply.

Thanks again.

That's not an iolite issue, but a cleaning issue. I've had a raft of portables, including multiple iolites due to beta testing, and they didn't smell any more than any other portable I've used.
preferable glass mouth piece
That's going to restrict your options considerably, since few companies want to deal with a glass mp on a pocket portable. I've been using a Flowermate 5.0, which does have a glass mp available if you specify it, and it's simple, inexpensive and easy to use. You can pay 2-3 times more $ if you like, but I haven't found that necessary in the pocket portable category.
the sheer number of pages of posts also makes it a bit intimidating to try and sort through the useful information and the chaff.
It's also a good clue as to the popularity of the vape, and the vape threads often contain tips and info you won't find anywhere else.

Check the MF website. All the info you need, straight from the horse's mouth. You can still buy an LB for $119- same box, same price. They have more options for wood, concentrates, etc., but the basic box is the same price.

When i bought the MFLB last time retail was $89 or $99 which made them a bit cheaper through discount retailers i think i picked mine up at $70 or $75 as a kit when i bought. With special editions being less but i see they've upped the packaging to be more professional and definitely refined a little

I need something smaller as the flowermate is rather large when compared to a MFLB but the Arizer Air looks cool and isn't super large but isn't small by any stretch.

I do agree i don't want to spend a ton of money on say a crafty or something even coming in at $200. Maybe second hand is the way to go?

Max i agree the thread size is angood indicator of good and bad stuff surrounding a product and while those threads offer lots of info and tips generally not available elsewhere who has time to sit and go through hundreds of pages and thousands of posts trying to sort the useful and non useful posts to get some tips? It'd be nice to see some condensed threads just based around the useful tips to make accessing that knowledge much easier otherwise much of those tips are lost on many that just do not have time to sort through the mega threads.

Again thanks for the suggestions and ideas folks!

Snafu,
Hi Snafu,

While I don't have experience with an MFLB, I do own a Pax, an Ascent, and a Haze. I realize these are all north of $200, but you did mention perhaps buying one secondhand.

The Pax is the stealthiest, but most likely to make you cough, with the harshest (but thickest) vapor. It doesn't have a glass stem, though.

The DaVinci Ascent has an all-glass vapor path, but I just can't seem to get as medicated with it. I think it's because a lot of THC is deposited on the vapor tube whilst vaping (which can be reclaimed, and could probably be minimized by preheating the glass straw). In addition, it has an enormous oven (0.5-0.6 g to fill it).

My favorite is the Haze. It has removable oil cans which you can put flower, wax, or any kind of concentrate in. Makes it very easy to clean (unlike the Pax and Ascent). Also, it has dual chambers. It comes with both a glass and stainless steel mouthpiece. I only use the stainless one, though, but others on FC say the glass one imparts a better taste. The vapor path is stainless steel. Oh, and it comes with a 10 year warranty.

Good luck on choosing your next vape.

@Snafu I'm sure the increase in price for the Mflb is due to cosmetic upgrades. They use different types of wood and added some sort of stone/gem to it. It's limited edition.

I agree with @max. A glass MP for a small portable is hard to come by. SS works just as well. I have the FF, and taste is amazing! I can't tell the difference in glass and SS. Conduction or Convection is another story. I think an Indica is perfect. It's stealthy and very reliable. You can find a v1 for under 200. You could check out the Imag+ for something under 100

Edit: the firewood 2.1 is another great option. It's basically the convection version of the mflb. It has a glass MP too
