I've kinda gotta disagree with your conclusions.Yeah @ChippyMalone that is exactly how it works. It was created before the recycler I believe. Either way mixing the two designs is possible but not ideal. With a normal recycler all the water is forced to through the uptake into the vortex chamber. The whole point of the pillar is so the water can fall back down instead of being sucked up. Similar concept to a recycler but kind of the opposite so it would constantly be fighting itself on how the water would be displaced. If you get what I'm saying...
This is a case where you pick one design or the other. If this was a good design you would see a popular big name company making them.
I do get the appeal though. Who doesn't like a miniature tornado in their Bong
With a high enough water level, you can get the water to stack all the way up the uptube and perc out the top.
It almost make the top of the tubes effectively a 6 hole disk perc.
Once the water is up the tubes, throwing a vortex chamber and return tube in there shouldn't really change the function of the pillar itself I'd think...
Also, Itza have been doing pillar-cyclers for a year or 2 now...
Personally I'd love to see something similar to the sg pillar (natty splash/sidecar/removable/bubbler style mouthpiece, at least 12, but preferably closer to 14-15 inches tall. There's also the options of straight tube base with a foot, or beaker style base. Maybe a tiny splash of color in the base, on the top, or in the bridge? I know that's pushing it...) I'd love to see a matrix perc in there replacing the peyote, makes it less of a direct clone...
Once the traditional pillar is up and running, I'd love to see him try to do a pillar-cycler
