I don't submerge the bottom insulator in ISO. Everything else yes. I usually just wipe the bottom insulator. Also I don't see your Ti coil. U should clean that too.

okay so i can just iso bath everything minus the bottom insulator ? and yea my TI coils are still in the packaging. planned on cleaning those when w9 reships my 3.7 rod

I am currently using w9 TI KISS and GLOBE carts with a non-w9 510 battery. I am leaning toward waiting until the persei is available with the v4 top but want to get running with the SR74. Has anyone tried running the SR74 at 3.7v with the black rod on a 510 3.7v battery (actually the RUVaped nano with a 10 second cutoff)?

I know its not optimal and that battery has limited charge capacity, but wondering if it will work as a temporary setup for the Herc.

No one seems to have answered you that i saw, but the short answer is no it doesnt work. it might make your oil warm, but then your battery will be dead.

How do you guys boil your pieces? Do you use sometype of drainer or screen that will submerge the parts but not touch the bottom of the pot? If so, can you send me a link on Amazon or walmart? Thank you.

What should the sr74x with a 7.4v rod read out at ? trying to see if i put it together right for my first time. i got 2.9/3.0 on the cheapo harbor freight multimeter

edit: and what should the 3.7v sr74 read (for when i receive it)

EDIT EDIT: @mixchu69 it was my first time taking it apart. i just put it all in a big cup of iso alcohol and mixed it around for a bit then let it sit.

If you use a shallow pot or pan and a strainer like this (These aren't the ones I have, I just went to a local store and picked something up. A fairly small sifter or strainer will get the job done.)
http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CTG...1_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1418076451&sr=1-1

You can put ALL the parts into boiling distilled water inside a sifter. (As @Fredster951 said, the bottom adaptor doesn't need to be soaked or boiled. Cleaning its contacts with an ISO soaked cotton swab has always worked for me.) Hold the sifters handle, "tossing" its contents/move it around in the water constantly while immersed. The plastic pieces won't melt in boiling water if they aren't sitting still on the bottom of the pot.

When the parts are really oily after a lot of gnarly use. I ISO rinse/soak everything quickly to dissolve the majority of the oil off and then do the distilled water boil afterwards. Overkill? Maybe. Easy with no scrubbing to get perfectly clean? Yes.

Anyone have word on restock time for herc74 ti coils? Uh... im done butchering my last one... are they s'posed to burn down like magnesium when you torch them?

I believe you're only supposed to lightly torch the coil. I don't know about it burning down but I'm guessing you might've torched it for too long.

@THC SCIENTIFIC can you check on a service request? I have a brand new Persei recieved in late November that I can barely get to fire-it just blinks at me constantly no matter how loose or tight I have the cart screwed on. I have an another Persei that fires just fine from a couple months ago using the same two SR-71s. The problem follows the new Persei's cap. I have an open ticket but support is very slow to respond. I am trying to get this taken care of.

Ticket #: 2733854
Thanks w9. Someone responded and is working on my request! I guess I need to get the upgraded caps to fix this issue! I will report back on how they work.

What is the point in torching a coil? I boil all of the metal pieces including the coil directly in a small pot and they come out perfectly clean. I then soak in ISO and rinse them clean for the final touch. There is no reason to torch a coil.

that is interesting though, I mean titanium should melt rather than burn down? Well I guess that would be the concentrate and whatever burning. But yeah.. do we actually have any test sheets on this titanium?

It is very thin metal, I think the heat just destroys it if you go too far with the heat from a torch.

okay Idk if I'm having a problem or if this is how all sr74x are. I'm going to include a couple pictures..

1st off. @THC SCIENTIFIC told me my cart should be reading 1.9-2.4.. my multimeter starts at 1 at all times and when I touch it to the sr74x I get between 3.0/2.9. so I'm assuming I should subtract the 1.0 the meter starts w. ?

2nd problem I saw a post where the rod location on the sr74x is supposed to have all the white and a slight bit of the 2nd contact showing. each time I set mine up like that
FE69E95D-7263-4097-8746-3AD8D731A363_zpsutz3x6gy.jpg
my top half of my cart won't screw down all the way it stops here
CE3EE92E-BB87-41E2-9C99-AD384174A622_zps2hweayup.jpg

then if I screw it all the way down my rod no longer stays at the position in the previous pic as it seems my retaining collar won't go tight enough to hold it so it goes down to this.

any ideas ?

Okeanos question: how high do you fill your water? I have to leave it with only a few drops to not have it splash up?

@jagroat I would fill to a little below the top of the metal bottom part. Slightly below the u of the up logo. I also put an inch of 1/2 in clear plastic tube on the mouth piece with a drip tip in the end and that made my water issues almost gone. Without the tube it seemed like any amount of water with too long or hard of a pull would get the water up too my mouth. Having the splash guard slightly lowered helps. Put a little wax on the thread where u want it cuz mine would fall down the threading to the bottom after a days use.

I actually do find the need to torch my Ti coils every other cleaning. After so many grams the coil "holds" residue. Black residue that won't go away with ISO. This happens even with the best oil. Torching the coil burns off this left over residue. Very light torching. The coil will be destroyed if you torch it too long. Very fine line here. I suggest torching about 2-3 seconds on a low setting. Let it cool for 10 seconds and hit it again. If the coil is really dirty you will see all the residue burn off. Repeat as necessary. Always pay attention to the coils heat. If it's glowing , it's very close to being destroyed.

@k3nd4l I think too much of the second strip is exposed, I have the sr71 and I have mine flush with the retaining collar.

yea I noticed it was a little to far out. I've tightened it up closer but anything above flush gets automatically pushed back in when I tighten the tubes. I was only going above flush cuss that's what thc had said back on pg 992. but if flush is working for you I'll stick w. that. thanks !

Here is an idea that worked for me: until you get the feel for where the rod should sit, do this. When you assemble the herc put in the rod and only tighten the collar enough that the rod can still slide a little when you push on it but will stay in place if not pushed, and thread the two chambers together. Next take the two chambers back apart. The rod should now be in the right position, so tighten the collar fully and take your reading. The extra resistance in your multimeter readings should now be cleared up.
Just so were clear though - don't force anything for sure. If you scratch the silver stuff off of the rod it will stop working and you will have to buy a new one so...

So has w9tech replaced thermovape?

I have read so many great things about the Cero and dart/revolution? Who bought the intellectual property and are they building vaporizers?

I wasn't around during the thermovape time.

We have not replaced anyone. We have been around since 2008.

@Breathemetal its in stock and sold out at same time. Waiting to get some pictures up, and I'll put it up for sale tomorrow. Expect pics to be available later next week as we are revamping almost all our pics to match our current product line, and future product line.
