Any discounts for FC members? Any discounts for the holiday? I decided to get the natural top and 5.5 stem any recommendations for first time user? My portables are pax, ascent, mighty, minivap coming soon. I got VAS nonstop.

You should strongly consider the WPA if you haven't already

waiting for mine to come in the mail ;(, EZVapes ran out of the WPA as soon as I bought mine, so it's coming in on backorder, but I went ahead and picked up a spare straight from the official website because i'm impatient. Now that one has been stuck in the middle of the country since Friday for whatever reason according to USPS tracking, but what can you expect for first-class mail!

I do notice that mine say pocket rocket on the side instead of xing like the ones in the photo. Perhaps I have an earlier edition?

Nope, mine says Pocket Rocket too.

There is a good torch thread also...

Honestly I've only used the stem a couple times. I use the WPA with glass almost exclusively.

I just received my wpa and J hook from Mendicino. I haven't even tried it out yet and just love it. This is my first piece of glass and it is so cool. I'm gonna hit it tomorrow for the first time.

I like that they include a plastic clip but don't see it as necessary when your just setting the wpa in the joint. I guess the clip is when I add more glass to the j hook? like an ashcatcher?

On the lighter conversation, I just ordered a Zico T-38 and waiting for it to come. The Honests I ordered don't seem to get hot enough. My kitchen torch on the lowest setting works well, but it is too big and bulky. I do LOVE that you don't have to keep a trigger button depressed while vaping.

The high temp vapor caps will be interchangeable with the standard vapor cap and both use the standard bowl. More info as we get closer to launch.

Is there a previous post where you describe the differences between the two cap types? Is this an improvement to the current cap or will you offer both caps as 2 different types/uses?
Thanks

We will continue to offer the present cap in addition to the hi temp cap. The hi temp cap will fit on the current bowls (WPA and Al stem). It will be able to run at higher temps without scorching the wood frame and to be dis-assembled for 100% cleaning.
Hopefully it will be available in February or March.

Can I pre-order?

I may get it before this other vape I've been waiting on.... for almost a year...

:-)

Seriously though, consider me in line. You'll sell more than one or two when they launch.

I was looking at photos and noticed a few of you are using Lotus WPA with Magic Flight Orbiter. What a beautiful and unique-looking combination! Were there any necessary mods/adapters or is it plug-and-play? Any comments (pro or con) from people who have been using this setup for a while?

I already have a MFLB so it seems like this would be a versatile setup for me. I could use MFLB by itself, Lotus by iteself, MFLB+Orbiter, and/or Lotus+Orbiter to have 4 different options!

Would I be correct in assuming if I got a 14mm PlanetVape GonG I could also use my Solo with the Orbiter, thereby having my choice of Solo, MFLB, or Lotus?? :)

I just really really like the photos I've seen of the Lotus WPA kit, it is so tiny and elegant. :)

How do the Lotus flavor and vapor production compare to popular electronic vapes I might have tried? (like Solo, MFLB, DBV, etc.)

Lastly but not leastly, if you had to cast a vote between Lotus+Orbiter vs. Lotus+D020 (or similar), which would you choose and why? :p

Yes it will work with any 14mm gong. I prefer the orbiter over a bubbler like the DO20 for the lotus just because I find it easier and more relaxed to work with the orbiter/lotus when using the whip and not having the torch right in my face.

As for taste and vapor production the lotus is up there with the best of 'em, Can't say it's better then those you ask about but the giant vapor clouds and pure convection taste you get from the lotus is very sweet and hard to beat.

That is a good point about not having the torch in your face. I imagine it is also a nice setup for sessions and parties: the host can set the orbiter on the table and operate the torch, while passing the whip to the guests? :)

I am in the same boat; I HATE the DO20 (and others in the series) with the lotus.
For me, those pieces put the torch and plate too close to my nose for my eyes to focus; I need more distance between my eyes and the plate.

My favorite setup with the lotus that I keep coming back to is a Sheldon Black Travel Bubbler (approximately 14-16 in tall), and using the Sheldon Black L bend mouthpiece for greater separation from my face.

@puddleglum i also can tcompare the lotus to the vapes you listed... but the taste and clouds are great... i would say the lotus is as good as some good desktop units... but it has also a learning curve... it is hard to be compared with the solo i would say... the solo is more plug and play ... i also would say the lotus is more an one hitter vape and the solo a session vape...

I too am rocking the orbiter + lotus combo, and I've gotta say, it truly does rock!!! It clouds up like a charm, and the look of the two together is absolutely beautiful- you would think that they were made for each other!!

I've also got an e-nano and mflb that I put through the orbiter, and I've gotta say I think the lotus is my favourite to run through the orbiter because it's the easiest and quickest to get milking!

I want to agree with KidFated on the glass mouthpiece, but so far I havnt tried one. But what I mean is that I don't really like the way a silicone whip can affect the taste (it's not hugely noticeable on the orbiter whips, but it's there), and so I really want to get a straight 14mm glass mouthpiece, but shipping to the UK from underdog (the only place I've found one) is way too expensive.

Quick tip for those with an orbiter AND e-nano (which I discovered a few nights ago):
I was finding it hard to 'milk' the orbiter with the e-nano, and the technique I was trying was your typical 'place nano on gong, draw through whip to fill orbiter, then pull the slide and clear it. What I actually found to be much MUCH better, was leaving the nano on the gong, and just taking long hits from the orbiter, without 'clearing' it. Looking at the orbiter it didn't look like there was much vapour at all, but every draw produced an awesome cloud!! One load produced at least 6 hits like this, and I was truly BAKED!!

Well, my lighter situation continues to be elusive. I got the Zico T-38 the other day. It is very nice looking but, and there always seems to be a but, the flame keeps going up and down, it doesn't like upside down, and the flame on the highest setting, seems hot enough to vape but it never gets the herb a dark brown. When I hit it with the kitchen torch, I extract a lot more vapor.
So now it's been, Honests which don't get hot enough to get any vapor (at least the 2 I got. I know folks swear by them and that's why I tried them), some other cheapo brand that suckoed), the Zico and the kitchen torch. The problem with the kitchen torch is it extracts masterfully but you're always on the edge of combustion. In fact, I combusted yesterday but just barely. I had charring and just the beginning of ash and some smoke:mad: yuck. Now I gotta clean everything, and that cap can't be cleaned well.

I want one but I just bought the mighty, minivap, and Persei with hercules. I keep justifying it by saying it's less than $200. Should I wait til the high heat cap comes out or take the plunge?Which kit would you recommend? I don't use much water filtration but want the glass j hook.

I've had the best of luck with those cheap '(power brand) Jet 1300 C butane torch lighters'. I got mine from DX (deal extreme) for $2.91 USD with free shipping on a slow boat from china. Other then the Vapman torch these cheap Chinese ones have been the best I've used, not one has failed on me over the last 6 months or so.

They are cheap but they work, But If you order from DX don't be in a hurry to get it as my last order took 9 weeks to get to me but it's worth the wait IMO.

I found a couple brands other people here recommended like the Zico and the Honest Brands I tried really sucked for using with the likes of the Lotus or Vapman, But worked Great for the VG or lighting a cigar.

For the 1300 C butane lighter I can only recommend the Clear ones that have "POWER" written on 'em. I had bought a red torch from ebay that came up in a search for "1300 C butane torch" and it only lasted a couple of days before it died.

Thanks! I ordered one. WTF I'll give it a try. I'd rather keep trying than just whine about it. I found the clear, Power ones on ebay for $5 bucks more, but they come from the US so it should arrive sooner. I know what you mean about DX. I ordered another lighter from them (forgot about that one) and it did take 8-9 weeks, and it sucked BTW.

I will add that my kitchen torch, a Roburn, is pretty well made, although it was having some problems shutting off. Like it wouldn't:doh: until you slid the on/off switch back and forth a few times. I wrote to the Roburn company and they sent me a free new one. Cheers to them!
