Vapman

@vapman has recommended not to heat those holes. It is recommended to only heat the apex of the gold bowl. Also, the vapman is a conduction vaporizer. There may be a slight effect of convection when using the concentrate screen but that is all. :peace:
I wasn't referring to hearing the holes. The tubes get heated as they are connected to the top of the cone that I mentioned heating. That is the only area I recommend heating as I have zero evidence that doing swirls or anything else on the bowl ensures even heating. It is mainly conduction but my classic version definitely feels as if it has elements of convection as heated air is passing over my herb and allowing the herb that isn't touching metal to become vaporized as well. Maybe It is a misconception on my part but through my use it seemed a valid conclusion to come to. What about the concentrate screen makes you feel as though it creates a convection heat?

If you are certain I will take you at your word. I do not claim to be an expert on heating systems. This was just a conclusion I came to through experience with my Vapman. The air that goes through the bowl is quite hot (I noticed when pulling with all 3 holes plugged with toothpicks), but thank you for setting the record straight I don't want to spread misinformation.

I've seen the video and I thought it was wild they would suggest heating the mica after I saw how it reacted to my torch. I like Toronto Vaporizer for their customer service but, their informational videos tend to be a little sub par, and I feel like the cloth gloves they use in the vids are an awful choice, the herb sticks all to em, lol! Vapor Nation is quickly becoming my favorite vape store with all the free goodies I can grab with points.

FWIW, I'm certain he's giving you the straight poop here. I still wouldn't suggest loaning Stama money of course, but this time you can trust him. Keep the fire away from the tubes unless you want the screws to conduct the heat down to the wood and burn the screws loose. Long hard way to wreck your VM, we can suggest easier ways if that's what you want?

The man is wise, trust him and you'll prosper.

Best wishes with the little guy, a neat thing in my tiny mind.

I've been smearing my dark Moroccan hash really thin on the concentrates screen, but following @vapman 's advice from some pages back I tried putting substantially more hash on the screen last night.

WOW!

I lost count over the amount of thick clouds, but I would say twenty is a conservative estimate.

Unless my hash is full of mega vapour producing animal fats, which I highly doubt, I have FINALLY discovered the perfect vape for the beautiful import hashes we have a lot of in parts of Europe!

And, as a few of you may know, I luuuuuuuh me hash :D

And, also, almost everyone who tries the Vapman buys the Vapman! Even my most hardcore combusting friends are onboard now.

This is a feat neither the PnP nor the FF managed to accomplish, even though they are both great vapes in their own unique way.

I should start importing them for sale or something... Wait! Idea! *kaching*

:D

Edit: fired up the same bowl, in the name of science ofc, and it's still producing thick clouds!

The flavour is okey still, even.

Granted, this hash is ridoncolously good, but still.

These are the only two glass pieces I've used with my Vapman and they work very well. My GB-187 should be here Monday or Tuesday.

so i went back to the dojo after my last post. reread the instructions, watched some youtube clips and read more here on the thread. i introduced the vapman to a friend of mine and it was him using it for the first time that opened my eyes. turns out, i was drawing the air too gentle. from that moment on i understood the claims of some members around here, that the vapman replaced the joints for them. pulling clouds consistently one after one was like a revelation at that point. i need less loads now for "getting there" and i can now decide, how dark i want the abv. i'm certainly far away from having unlocked every secret of the vapman yet, but slowly i see myself on the right path. :) the experience from other vapman followers here also helps a great deal and will be included in further practice.
learning the vapman reminds me somehow of martial arts, where the vapman serves as something like a samurai's trusted katana. :) beautifully crafted, each aged uniquely bearing it's own burn marks and the more you practice with it, the better you become.

@VAPEHUNTER the charred vapman is really a piece of beauty! i'll have to learn to give a treatment like this to mine one day. :)

After having tried a Vaponic (liked it) and a Lotus (loved it and still)... might go for the Vapman as well. Not that I feel I need it, but from the review it seems to be a must have.
Also I suppose this could be a bit stealthier than a Lotus since you don't have to torch while drawing on it, ala vaponic style. This is an advantage in that domain while Lotus gain in "instantaneous control". So to each is own...
If anybody own both, and want to chime in the comparison ... I'll be glad !

here's a couple older threads comparing lotus and vapman:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/anyone-tried-both-the-lotus-and-vapman.10117/

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapman-or-lotus.12274/

I go back and forth between the vapman, the lotus and the daisy.

Never a bad thing to have so many good choices!

edit: I didn't mean to move the conversation away from the vapman. A discussion of one vape or another should probably be in askFC.

I've wanted a vapman since I first saw it. When that base station comes out I probably won't be able to hold out any longer...

I want that string powered vape that vapman made too! (at vapman prices :p)

I have both and use the Lotus a lot less. As a matter of fact it's been sitting in my closet for two and a half months. It's not that the vapman is better it's just faster and easier to use in my opinion. but it is because I took the time out to master my vapman they're both great vapes though.

Yes I shouldn't have asked it here, right. Thanks for the links.

I came looking back at Vapman when i've seen about the base station too.. I still wonder about it.
And the muscle Vapman is also something I dream about : at a fair price !
I'm pretty sold on the Vapman, just need to control my left hand who's holding my wallet closed.

Hi,

Weekly update. Been to a company trip to the desert today with smoking peoples all around. I was so happy thinking about how the vapman stopped me from smoking joints almost immediately. Once I understood it a week an a half ago, I didn't smoke at all. And I had the option to (not on my company trip.....).

Happy as I am, I do need your help to better understand how vapes should feel like.
I understand it completely on the first 2-3 hits, but after this I'm having hard time to judge whether I'm done or not. So currently, I check the color of the herb every once in a while.

This weekend I had my friends over, and I introduced them to the vapman and to vapes.... I don't think it's a good enough PR to have it with such inexperienced guy like me. (even though they really liked it)

So since I don't have anyone with experience around me I need your input for this.

How do you know when you're done?

i am looking into the bowl if there is no green all "roasted coffe brown" its more or less done... if you have black spots in your abv (you cought hard) then you maybe combusted thats not good... after using and learning your vapman you should be in the state to judge by taste... but there are more experts on this thread then me... ;)

Don't sell yourself short btka I'd say you nailed it with your answer. I'm no expert but I do exactly like you do and even though I can pretty much tell when the load's done by taste I still open the chamber and check the colour of the herb every five hits or so.

@Jospapaia sounds like you are well on your way to mastering your little vapman. The more you use it the more it will just become so natural of a process you'll find yourself sitting back hitting it with as little thought as you had to put into smoking a joint or a bowl. Enjoy the Journey.

Edit; one of the people i gave a vapman to loves to take his bud to a charred black state(sometimes I do for pain relief), he can get it there every time without dense acrid vapor/smoke. works for him so i can't really say he's doing it wrong, he's just not using it exactly like me(and he's not doing it with my classic).

Vaped out of my mind, and it got me thinking...

I see people talk about water tools here now, and I'm wondering what kinda water/glass setups work the best with the Vap for you guys?

So far I haven't really enjoyed using my VM with glass. I should give it another go but seems as though the VM has enough cooling with the air holes. I'll give it another go tomo (for science obv) but tbh there are better vapes for pairing with water

I often do this. No smoke but very dark abv one of the reasons i fell in love with the vm
