First impressions.

Each hit is surprisingly smooth. I saw others who noted the same, but I didn't really believe how well the stainless steel worked until i experienced first hand. Smoother then the solo, a little less flavor retention. Solo has slightly better flavor.

Fairly easy to clean, but does take some stirring and work for best results.

Lid needs to be on perfect for any results. Had one time where the lid was slightly off and couldn't figure out why i wasnt getting a hit.

Very happy for personal use, but would rather share a solo, VXC, a Zeph Ion bag, or almost any other vape I have with a friend. It will work well for what i wanted to use it as, but this is certainly not a share with friends. There would be a learning curve for someone who is has not already had experience with PD's MZ's The MFLB, solo, ect.

I'm not sure now if got these here, or these are "like the ones"

http://essentialextracts.co/product/essential-screens/

The use I've had for them is mainly to keep the load in place with vertical on glass vaping, but they can be useful for temp layering, as in either hotter under the basket or cooler over the basket. Or to keep a small liquid pad in place, or decoration or whatever.

As to newcomers, yes the FF is a personal vape, it's not for sharing, except with an obedient mate that "it don't take much" for. Take advantage of your mate as a button presser and pre-warmer.

The battery is hard-pressed, the heater is hungry, so you will probably need spares.

I go where the thrills are
So my FF isn't charging anymore... got it four days ago, very pissed right now

Could just be the battery. Behavior? Battery is dead and you don't get a blue light when you plug it in?

Try removing the battery and re-inserting it. Sometimes it's a little temperamental. (I assume you are charging it in the FF?)

I removed the battery and replaced it back but same thing. Yes I'm using the FF itself to charge

So no light at all when you plug it in? And do you get a light when you toggle the FF on?

Obviously it's easier to diagnose device vs. battery problem if you have an external charger, or another battery. In the absence of that it's tough to know if the battery is fried for some reason or if the FF has failed.

If you bought it from FF fill out the contact form on their site and they will contact you as soon as they see it. Of course this crap always happens on a Friday night! :bang:

hey guys, i just got the ff yesterday and had a few questions:

1) is there already a permanent screen in the bowl?

2) my battery door isn't flush. is there supposed to be a gap?

thanks so much.

There isn't any permanent screens. If there's a screen there then that's a replaceable one. As for the second question, there shouldn't be a gap and the door should slide all the way.

Honestly, I haven't changed screens yet, but I did try to test it with the methods of other members. It sucks that you have to bend the screen, but I don't think you have to replace/clean it that often anyways.

Have you tried contacting FF? They are officially selling in the EU after the New Year, so they might be able to offer you service. Nothing in their warranty mentions having to use authorized sellers, and the warranty is transferable. Good luck, and please keep us posted.

Seems like you saw how to replace the screens. They can get mangled when removed and reinstalled frequently so be careful with the edges. You might also try the Iolite Wispr disc screens....a nice replacement for the stock screens and easier to take out and re-install.

As for the battery door, there shouldn't be a gap, but some don't fit as snug as others. My silver FF has a slight gap in the battery door, but my Red is completely flush. As long as it stays on ok I wouldn't sweat it.

Went to bed in a drunken rage last night, and woke up with a wicked hangover and extreme mental anguish... which is just like any of my nights and mornings, but even moreso this time.

Stayed there in bed a for a long time and refused to get up. Then I noticed I had the foresight to leave the FF on the nightstand. Reached over and decided to go all out and take a whopping three straight hits of purple diesel (which is my nickname for the absolutely 100% legal herbs I use).

Nothing like a few instant tasty tokes in bed to make a guy roll out of it and try again.

Plus, I really, really had to take a monumental shit.

My little tip for the firefly Is to get some of the little liquid pads S&B sells for the crafty and mighty , cut one in half and its the perfect size to fit a nice half bowl . It seems to work better than a screen , I think It adds a tiny bit on conduction the ABV comes out very even and well done don't even really need to stir . I found this out because S&B recommends to do that with the crafty and it works so well thought it might cross over well to the firefly and it does . Also keeps the unit very clean

The Holidays have a tendency of bringing one down. Good thing you had the foresight of keeping your friendly FF within arms reach.

Mine flies.

HH!! Keep up the good cheer!

Or get some herbalizer pads, no trimming necessary

I have been using a screen on top of the herb to keep the small bits from getting sucked into my mouth and it seems to work pretty well. Should I be worried about any permanent damage by using a screen?
