OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
5 hours in and still flashing red for last two hours. Unplugged it and tried it. Doesn't turn on. Nothing happens.

Then I opened it up to look at the battery and noticed it was inserted with the negative end first with the positive end up against the screw on end cap. That cap has one of those springs I associate with the negative end of a battery contact (forgive my technical jargon) so I am wondering if my battery was inserted backwards by mistake?

Which way does your battery go? Negative in first or positive in first?

edit:
@fernand Thanks. What a long strange trip its been.

I don't plan on using the skin at all, didn't see it in the box (or a solo stem, but I didn't check under the main part yet).

They're on the right inside the white cardboard that runs along the side. Almost fooled me, too!

ha ha going to watch a 25 min 'air' overview whilst vaping on my solo. Indulgence! :)

Did one of you chaps do this?

Anyone notice their short stem actually has a shorter bowl too? Mine is about 1mm shorter...only just realised!

Mine's closer to two. Well 1.9 to be exact. 9.0 and 10.9mm deep.

In my defense it's only the second time I've looked at it, the first was to steal the gasket to replace the one I lost in the first hour......

I definitely didn't get an all glass long stem like the old Solo one. Now you mention it @OF I meaured it and mine is closer to 2mm...

Look in with the skin and case (in the box/sleeve on the right) IIRC that's where I found mine.....

Thanks, I just went back and cheked the box all over, definitely not there. I got the skin, pouch and pick though...

I found that as soon as the battery indicator changed to the color red, there was not enough power at all to heat it up for the last (5th)
OF, it ALMOST follows the color spectrum...theres just a few things to "memorize" (no O & V, but add white)...when i think about it, its almost sensible (to non colorblinds, of course...damn X* chromosomes!). they skipped orange, cuz it would be hard to tell from yellow & they had to insert white between green & blue because of the similar shades of those 2. depending on the degree of colorblindness, at least red & green are far enough away (click-wise) from each other to not be super confusing. and also, like the solos, i think we will all fall into our rhythms and this will be a very tiny issue after you've had it for a while (my SOLO rhythm was 3 for taste, which i pretty much did for new users or to taste something new, but 96% of the time, 5 was my start & finish number...im sure you guys had your own patterns where you could probably operate the SOLO after a while without even thinking/looking at it, right?). in fact, i loved my rhythm so much, that i plan on keeping it on the AIR (i think that translates to 2 for taste & 3 for the rest if I'm not mistaken)...

but, instead of ROYGBV (or roygbiv if you believe in indigo), they use (from hottest to coldest): RED (no orange) YELLOW GREEN ***WHITE*** BLUE (no purple)

5 4 3 2 1
R Y G W B...thats what i noticed, which eliminated the need for memorizing (you can even hear me "lock" that into my brain in that long ass video i uploaded)...hopefully that makes it a bit more intuitive/easier...

damn i really gotta find a way to stay off FC until wednesday...u guys just have too good of stories...

genius idea of standardizing the draws with a 2 liter, tho...im a dork for that type of statistical, sciencey shit!
session. I was somewhat disappointed that there was no indication/warning before it stops being able to reach temperature.

My best trick for remembering button counts is what I did to operate the solo without looking. Turn it all the way up, press up a bunch of times until it can't possibly be on anything but red, then turn it down to what you need? I found it more reliable than counting up, maybe it's just how my brain works.

I'm not colorblind and it's really hard to distingush white from orange a lot of the time. I'm a little unclear on when certain lights start blinking blue. I think there's a little left unexplained in the manual, as was the case with the solo IIRC

Oops! Surprising OF beat me to it.

But I was wrong, it wasn't there.

I'll be sure you get full credit.......

Color blind is funny, how do you know what you've always seen is not the same as everyone else? It's not like there's holes in the view where green trees are, just you might not see a red ribbon around one. I wasn't color blind until I passed out from eye strain as a young teen (3 hours straight reading an Almanac on a family car trip....plenty spooky). After deciding I was 'a little far sighted, the eye doctor gave me a color vision test (colored dots), discovering I was color blind. Before that I was just stupid. From kindergarten on.

Anyway, here's a tip, try your peripheral vision. Rods and cone distribution varies, I, like many others can distinguish better that way. At night I can see the red and green channel LEDs on the radio, unless I look at them. While looking ahead I can notice for instance, the third light is different.......but not when I look down. Fun stuff.

Perhaps I flatter myself some, but I sure won't assure you of the safety of substituting batteries after the maker (who probably knows even more) advised it's dangerous in some cases.......

Your call. But please stand over there?

Does the AIR get you medicated?
@problemchild why don't you have a 113 seal in your solo?

What can I say that hasn't already been said. This vape IMO( with two batteries ) replaces the solo for me. The heater seems different as well. The form factor screams that awesome stealthy size and shape that I know we(or at least myself) wanted in the solo.more testing has to be done but so far I got 6 sessions for the first battery that came in the air. I see the pouch coming In handy when I'm hiking ,biking, etc.
I had a question about when the battery went low. Whenever I try heating it up it simply doesn't ? The bottom light stays solid red and the top light blinks blue without stopping.

The power cord is a little short so I've got an extension cord hooked up to it and using it like a log.
You can use it fine this way but not for huge sessions. You have to let it cool down every other session or so for a few minutes and then you can fire it back up.
