mine is just a nickname some guys once gave me when I was 15.

these were guys I went to elementary with, after finishing elementary I didn't see them often anymore, untill somewhere in the 3rd grade or so, when I was 15, I wanted to go out more. but the city was 45 minutes away, there was however a hangoutspot in my village, a trailer on a farmer's property(those places are known as 'zuipketen' around here, 'drinking shacks', since underage drinking is common in such places), so I often hung out there on saturdayevening and reconnected with my former elementary-classmates(in elementary I had been somewhat of an outcast, the classnerd).

usually it went like this: I arrived, took out one of the joints I had rolled beforehand at home(I wasn't good at rolling yet, so they were way too fat, and looked ugly), and smoked it outside with 4-5 other guys. then went inside, and after about 20-30 minutes I would go outside to smoke another. usually at that point, only 1 or 2, or none at all, would join me, they all were stoned enough already.
eventually I stopped going there because I realised I just was at a way different wavelength, there were just too few conversations I could participate in(often they would talk either about people from their highschool whom I didn't know, or sports, wich I'm not interested in). it was nice to reconnect with them, but in the long run I had more fun going to the city and meeting friends there who I could have better conversatioins with. also in the drinking shack the music wich was on was almost always rap/hiphop, wich is one of the few music genres I can't stand. in the city I went to a metalbar, so much better backgroundmusic.

so since I was always smoking/stoned when around those guys and I was always the one bringing weed and sharing it with them, they gave me the nickname djonkoman/jonkoman. (actually at that point saturday evening was the only time in the week I smoked, but it was also the only time that I was around them)

at some point I needed a username for a weedforum, something different as my usual username at the time wich I used for some non-weedrelated sites. I couldn't think of anything, so I sttled on this old nickname, jonkoman was already taken so I took the phonetic dutch spelling: djonkoman.
after that I just kept on using it since I couldn't think of anything better.

My username is an old nickname from the late 70s early 80s when I was a young drunk fool and a bit of an asshole at times. A large group of "Bar friends" would always yell RUDE BOY OI ! OI ! OI ! at me when they wanted my attention or in greeting  .

My avatar is just a picture I found on the web that captures the context of my username and me with a cup of Joe sittin' back watchin' the world go by.
Gotta love that so many of us chose usernames and or Avatars that reflect our love of music.
As the Man sorta said "Music and Herb the Healing combination" !!!!

I finally managed to scratch this funny little itch in the back of my brain that I've had since I read this.

My name is from a Nevermore song :

I am sentient number six, I stand in line
I am the prototype of a benign convenience for mankind
Superior is digital, human flesh so trivial
I hate that I can’t see the one that made me

I am the new awakening of different eyes
My children you are my army
They are what we can never see and still despise
And their sky cries Mary

Trained I see imperfection in your race
Lying in wait, blind I suffer knowing I’ll never reach your heaven

Why is this control, behavior based and reactive
Adapting to every new environment?
Rewarded when I replicate, isolate and mutate
To assimilate a fragmented plea for ego

Trained I see imperfection in your race
Lying in wait, blind I suffer knowing I’ll never reach your heaven
It’s unattainable, please teach me how to dream
I long to be more than a machine

Trained I see imperfection in your race
Lying in wait, blind I suffer knowing I’ll never reach your heaven
It’s unattainable, please teach me how to dream
I long to be more than a machine

Quite a long time ago, before the Internet existed, I began my career and without going into ultra-fine detail, let's just say I fix problems for people. I took my work very seriously and didn't let issues drop without resolution, so eventually I gained the reputation of willingness to do whatever it took to get the task at hand accomplished. During one event in which this effort was recognized, the speaker - after mentioning this reputation - introduced me as Diabolical Dave. As a result of this, and the roar of the crowd that followed, the name stuck.

Now, in that day, we did have email... gawd awful email, but email none-the-less. So I took it upon myself to start trying to track these victories... but how to do so? Ancient computers weren't search smart or user friendly. So, upon one of these victories, when I would announce the success to all who were involved via an email message, I would sign the email as "DDave" .... This allowed me to find all these victories simply by searching emails for any instance of DDave. (Yeah, was using the equivalent of hashtags before hashtags existed. If I had lived in UK, the HashTag may have been called the DDave Tag. LOL But I digress.)

Well, my actual name is not Chippy Malone. He is a stuffed animals travelling companion I made from an old pair of socks. I take photos of him doing fun stuff in my travels.

My avatar is a small section of a quilt my mother in law made that I just really love. I used it because I wanted a bright target to help find my own posts when fast scrolling on a portable device.

Mine is just a name that kept coming back to me I guess.. Fascinated with the idea of Deja Vu.. it always takes me out of my thoughts and places me firmly in a present moment that is reminiscent of a past moment.. an odd sensation. I get Deja Vu a lot. Sometimes it feels like ghosts are close by.
Display pic is a cresent moon that I drew with black ink using a little 'wand' I used to have (wooden stick with engravings and a gemstone+feathers on the end)
and I was going to get it tattooed on my left wrist with the word 'LISTEN', and a sun on the other wrist with the word 'FOCUS' beneath it.

Still saving the money and finding the right artist for this job :)

I am a singer like my name sake, but not a famous one. I loved the Tapestry album from the 70s. I would play this album over and over. I love James Taylor too.
I was with a group of musicians - those were the best years. Music makes me feel sooo good.

killick

But I like it!
A 'killick' is, technically, a small anchor. It's also a nickname for a rank in the Royal Canadian Navy. It's the highest rank some ever attain, and also the lowest rank one can get demoted to. A bit of a catch-all, if you will, as everyone gets to it at least once during their career :)

My avatar is a screen capture of a character, Bubbles, from a TV series called Trailer Park Boys. They make up a home-made wrestling ring, Bubbles gets some green clothes together and writes GB on the front in electrical tape - and The Green Bastard is born!

@grokit - dig it. Love that novel too

My screen name is Skyscraper because I wanted to be an architect when I was a kid, and I always enjoyed the city skyline when I was younger.

My avatar is Obama smoking a cig because it's a cool picture. I would not see eye to eye with Obama with politics but I do identify with his swagger. Lol

I wanted to convey three things:
  1. I'm a guy
  2. 30 years of highness under my belt
  3. Own the Solo and MFLB
Searched for a graphic with 'Highness' in it and added the Solo and MFLB to it. Up until I started frequenting this site I thought I new a good bit about gettin high since I had so much time in the field :brow:

BUT NOW...This site and the folks who frequent it have taught me that when it comes to gettin high.... I had more like one year of experience 30 times in a row.

Since finding this site...I've turned on a bunch of people to vaporizing and the site and many have had the same reaction I did...'Geez! How long has this been going on!' I feel as excited about MJ now as I did when I first found it as a teenager thanks to you kind people.
