Alfa Vaporizer by goboof

Yes, it can be used while charging but it needs to have about 10% charge before you can use it while plugged in. This portable seems to have the longest lasting battery life . It's a solid two hours.

Got my Alfa today! And just finishing up a couple sessions. Wow this vape is small! Fits right in my palm, but I noticed that it gets quite warm during use. Especially on the high heat setting. Not totally uncomfortable, but pretty dang warm lol.

As for vapor, I was getting really light wispy hits with a loose pack. I filled the oven, tapped in the material and tamped it even. Next load, I filled the oven, packed it firm, loaded more , and packed that load as well till the oven was full. Vapor quality was a lot thicker and I was getting decent clouds.

Still working on the perfect grind and pack of the oven, and working on draw technique if necessary, to get some big clouds. Overall satisfied, just concerned with the vape getting so warm during use...

My biggest gripe is that the loads don't come out totally even. But not that badly only a couple pieces of the herb.

Pretty down that my alfa stopped working, only blinks now and no heat detected when fully charged. Got it to work two more times, but back to no go again.... Sent a message to gotvape and goboof. Need to call gotvape for a return number. What a bummer, had this thing since October, been a beast, gonna miss it during the return process. Might have to buck up and get a mighty since I now have concerns with alfa long term.

This is the first time I'm hearing of one going down. Bummed to see this because I love the Alfa, please keep us posted

Hey folks. I wanted to ask about oven packing styles/techniques. I'm off to work so I have an oven packed and ready to try out later. I filled the oven, packed it down till it was filling a quarter of the oven, loaded more, packed it down. At this point the oven was about 2/3 full. Topped it off and packed it even with the center pin.

The earlier replies on the thread mention packing it relatively tight to get bigger clouds. So I ground the herb fine, with my four piece grinder, and packed it significantly.

However, joekickass mentioned he doesn't pack overly right to get more flavor, and an airy draw. I'm not concerned with the amount needed to pack and fill the oven tight and full, just want to make sure I'm not packing it down too tight. I'm noticing during sessions, the mouthpiece gets pretty hot on my lips!

Yeah mate thanks, I almost got out the lighter and bowl after getting so stressed over my alfa not working. Went back to my mflb, hard to get a full session now. I even stopped by a headshop, looked at the $420 crafty, but didn't buy it.

I'm trying to get a poll here.

How many draws do you get from one full chamber?

The taste is clean throughout right... Also if this was all white, it would feel like an apple product.

Yeah it's up to you, after a while I gave in and started packing it firmly too, it's hard to resist those big clouds :D

I think they designed it to use your hand as heatsink. Try holding it by the top and bottom gets pretty hot, but hold it from the bottom right from the start (alternate hands if you really need to) and it barely gets above warm! The human palm is a big, dense water mass compared to the tiny, light Alpha :2c:

Any ideas what happened? Did you drop or get it wet?

(Less serious) Did you let it cool down before charging? Did you leave it charging over night a lot?

We love everything else about this little vape, there's no reason it shouldn't be rock solid-reliable to boot! Sorry for your downtime :(

Just got the Alpha about a week ago and am really enjoying it when out and about. The miniVAP still rules the roost at home and the MFLB serves its purpose for cheeky office vapes. But the Alpha has quickly become my go-to vaporizer when on the move.

Nah man, didn't drop it or get it wet. Used it as normal one day , finished off pack that was still green, packed it again and then nothing but a blinking light. Actually got it to work a couple more times and then nothing again. As for charging, usually just charged for a few hours a day gets me a couple packs a day. Do they say to let it cool down before charging? I never charged it up when it was super hot that is for sure. Anyway, I too love the little guy and hope the return process goes smoothly....

I use a screen at the top, in the chamber, and have noticed some copper or rust like staining the anodized heating chamber from the metal screen. Is this something I have to worry about? It kind of cleans off with alcohol, but should I be worried that it might do permanent damage and harm the oven?

It could possibly be some resin building up perhaps? I noticed that after a few sessions on the high heat setting, there was a small build up of clear Amber resin in the conical area where the mouth piece plugs into. If I flipped the unit upside down, while hot, the build up would ooze out of the airway.

Scooped up the reclaim and vaped away. Also noticed that with a firm pack, short cigar style puffs with a small pause in between gets pretty decent clouds. Tried the alfa through a bubbler after I rigged a connection for the south piece, but could not get large clouds. I think continuous draw cools down the oven too much?! Bubbler would milk up for one I till puff, but the rest of the vapor was relatively wispy. Still a great on-the-go portable. Smells a bit in public, but still stealthy!

The staining is in the heating chamber itself. I took the screen out of the top, put a small hole in it, and put the screen at the top of the heating chamber. Works much better than having the screen at the top where it can clog the pathway. I think the stain is from the screen or screen's metal, since the stain is copper colored. So far, isn't affecting the heating, but don't know much about the anodized heating chamber, and what can affect it.

Oh snap mike m. I might have to take some time to clean out my alfa and inspect the screen and oven. My screen has been in the top of the oven chamber since day one. Will check when I get back tonight.

This little bad boy is amazing, nice taste at low temp, nice dry clouds at medium and big clouds trhough water at high temp!

I vape my bowl on the go at low temp and when I come back at home I make another session through water at max t°, amazing efficiency!

If they create a sort of loading chamber that you can put and remove of the bowl, it will be a nice improvement in the go, cause actually if I have a long trip to do I prefer my Inh's for the capsules convenience of use..... and there is enough power to vape oil if they do the appropriate loading chamber!

...And let's spark a new flame!
I recieved my Alfa yesterday. It is super tiny and super cute!
I only did one quick sesh before fully charging it and I have to say I am impressed.

The vapor taste really good, I mean like really really good, from beginning to the end.:bowdown:The ABV was pretty even and the best part for me was that I didn't get that popcorn taste.

Just remember to move the screen from under the mouth piece to the bottom of the chamber for better performance.

Good advice @Mike M. I bypassed this step the first time and when I removed the mp it was full of herb underneath they screen.

Did I mention that the vapor taste really good? :brow:

Yeah, I find the screen works better in the actual heating chamber. I spoke with them last week by email, and they might be selling screens soon with the hole in the middle, so you can use them in the chamber. If you email them, they will send a complete user’s manual as well, which is pretty nice.

Can we get a small poll of anyone who owns the alfa and how it compares to your other portable vapes in taste and efficiency and whatever else you decide?

I have had the pax and pinnacle pro and the alfa is a 10 on taste and 9 on efficiency. The pax was 6 and 6 and the pinnacle pro was 7 and 8.

So... I'm really fucking angry. I went into the gym my alfa was in my car came out of the gym turn it on it started blinking green normally, then out of nowhere started rapidly blinking red. Now it won't turn on at all. I put it on the charger and nothing.
