I put the Arizer air battery onto an LUC charger and it read at 3.6 volts after one session. I take it the arizer air charges up to 3.7 volts ... would definitely not recommend putting a fully charged 18650 battery at 4.2 volts until we know more about the performance of the arizer air

It sure would be nice if all of us had that same experience with the solo batteries.

Excellent point. I know lots of guys that smoke cigarettes and/or date married women who aren't dead yet. Doesn't encourage me to recommend either of those though.

Lots of dead and dying Solo batteries around for it not to be an issue at some level. If it concerns you, act accordingly, if not ignore it?

I'm happy to back up my concerns and let folks make their own (hopefully informed) decisions. Flat out safety issues change that a bit, of course.

Thanks for putting it so clearly. I hope our fellow members consider it.

How important is it to use the disc gasket? I can see myself losing it. I didn't notice, Arizer must sell them separately. I wouldn't want to have to buy a mouthpiece in order to get one. Im sure someone will find out how to get more.

That's a good idea about the damp cotton thanks @OF. Mine is charging now. I got 5 - 10 min sessions. I bought a second battery I didn't charge it up yet.

So my "AA" owning buddy (as he calls it) is obviously better organized than I, he measured his two batteries as shipped. He also did some careful (and IMO no doubt accurate) testing of times which I forward for your perusal:

My installed AA battery came charged at 4.02v.
My 'extra' battery came at 3.78v (closer to mfr's storage voltage?).
The AA's cutoff seems to be around 3.35-3.4v (when the AA battery LED goes solid red).

Recharging time in AA (from cutoff at 3.35v):

3.35v battery voltage level at start of charging in the AA.
3.65v after 1 hour charging in AA.
3.83v after 1:40 total charge time (40 additional minutes charging from previous reading).
4.16v after 2:30 total charge time.

Run-time Data (starting with a 4.16v battery fully charged in the AA @Heat levels 2, 3 and 4 (pretty even 5 mins @each temp).

3.88v after 15 minutes use.
3.64v after another 15 minutes use.
3.58v after another 10 minutes use.
3.42v after another 12 minutes use.
Solid red LED (battery needs charging) after only 1 more minute of use.
So 'died' after 52-53 minutes total use.

I put a strip of batting and a few drops of water to hydrate my draws as @OF recommended and it worked well.

Outstanding! Lucky guess, but maybe I should quit while ahead.......

The 'golden goodness' aspect I never thought of, gets me thinking of little cotton cloth strips you can roll up and put into the bowl once they collect enough........

Thanks for the good word, Bro.

These Air aroma tubes are great. I put a strip of batting and a few drops of water to hydrate my draws as @OF recommended and it worked well. The another little discovery when I pulled the batting out it was filled with golden goodness. So if want twice the bang for your buck just put a little cotton in the Air aroma tube, let it fill-up with sticky goodness and vape it later. Very nice features of this Air mouthpiece. :haw:
That's what I was saying earlier

@OF have you tried using a regular Solo stem with the Air? I think the shorter air path of the Air stems is why it feels a little harsher :2c:

Yes I did, briefly. Thanks. My Solo had a 'partially used' charge of the same bud. After the session with the stock stem I restarted and did a couple of "A/B" tests between the two, you're definitely right. The extra length (and I suspect more important extra cool wall surface?) makes it better even if less stealthy.

Nice to have a choice. Very 'Soloesque' that.

Thought I would put up a few pictures for those still wondering about size.

Hope this helps.

I could not get Ed's stem to fit. Has anyone else gotten them to fit?

The little black plastic door that protects the heating chamber keeps coming off. I have asked Arizer about getting one. Waiting for word.

if the little cap is the same as on the solo you may be able to tighten it by laying it on a flat surface with the top side facing up and just pushing down in the middle of it with an unsharpened pencil or something of similar size, spreads out the bottom edges that hold it in the chamber. Had to do it with my solos cap to keep it from popping off.

i think he means the door comes completely off the top (it happened to me for the first time in my video)...but the door doesnt stay latched on the oven too tightly either...not a deal breaker especially if you keep it in its little holster...

The lid on my Solo snapped off after a couple of weeks, I'm not too worried about the same thing happening with the Air, not a big deal, just a little annoying

After some interaction with Air running with low battery state (below video), here are my conclusions regarding upper and lower LED behavior:

- Soon as a low battery condition is detected the lower LED will show solid Red (as described in the manual).

- The Air unit stops heating and goes into a standby mode (same mode as when initially powered on), indicated by the upper LED slowly pulsing On and Off repeatedly with a Blue color.

- After low battery condition occurs, like when first powering on the unit, it is possible to continue to heat mode by selecting a temp using the up & down arrow keys.

- Once a low battery condition has been reached AND user issues override (selects temp) to continue heating, then the lower LED will stay Red most of the time however it will periodically flash Purple until the selected temp is reached.

Purple flashes on lower LED: normally the lower LED flashes Blue to indicate heater trying to reach set temp, however with low battery condition indicator being lower LED solid Red, it makes sense because Red + Blue equals Purple.

Interesting, I have not had the lower LED display yellow on mine so far. So perhaps the lower LED red low battery indicator changes to yellow when battery gets very low??

I did not use/test to very low drained battery levels, however I would not be surprised if the Air software would prevent users from doing so... as in whenever a very very low battery condition is detected perhaps standby override is not allowed, or simply unit shuts off.

Just finished charging a cell with Intelli Charger i4. It took approximately 3 hours. The cell never even got warm. I think this charger is a go.

Pretty slow but not really a big deal if you are charging a few at a time. I think it took at least that long charging in the unit today.

It would be really cool if someone finds a higher capacity battery that gets another 2 or 3 sessions out of it.

I was using mine plugged in. I didn't notice any difference in my quality of vapor. I was going to do another session and i got the yellow light flashing and it didn't turn back on I think it was because the unit was hot and needed to cool off. I left it plugged in to charge. The unit is charging with the normal flashing green light. I just turned it back on and it is working normally. I let it cool for 5 min.

I am using some Bubblegum strain. It has a very mild vapor flavor, so I am able to use green temp level 492 degrees. The higher temps work better for pain. Last night I was using Cherry Kush, a bit on the harsh side green felt too high temp wise. The Bubblegum tastes oh sooooo
good.

EDIT
I mean 392 degrees I made an error above. Thanks @Mrmrmrmr

I load mine by scooping the stem up into my herb grinder. I use a loose pack. You need the airflow through your load. I don't want a tight draw. A medium grind.

Got more vapes than one can shake a stick at but definitely will pick up an Air... Soon as I can cop one around $175. I'll live vicariously for now. Thrilled for you Air-heads!

It won't, you can stop or repeat the test as you wish, but the results will be the same. The heater really doesn't care where the electrons come from either direct from Bolder Dam at the speed of light or from the same source before hand temporally stored in the battery.

This is a closed loop system (where the output (temperature in our case) is monitored in real time and the power input adjusted as needed. Like the cruse control in your car, where, within limits, the speed stays the same as the car uses more or less fuel to respond to changing conditions. Air uses more or less current (power if you're a heater.....), either from the battery or mains (or both) as needed. As a user the only clue you get it the cord being plugged in as you enjoy the lovely vapor.

Someone had mentioned that they got a more airy draw when their unit was plugged in. I didn't notice that. The quality of vapor seemed great either way, plugged in or not. Just as OF stated above.

EDIT
There's no mention about the yellow flashing light in the directions? Maybe shoot Arizer an email?

Anybody getting the double yellow light? Think that means I'm using it too much.

If you were hoping to use it as a log like the picture I posted a few pages back... Doesn't seem to work great for that role. Charger doesn't seem to put out enough power to really use it plugged in. You might be able to get a pull, but it doesn't seem to do sessions very well while charging. Like I said battery is probably thinking one step forward two steps back.
I got the double yellow my first night using it. My vape was both very very hot from using it a long time and low on battery+plugged-in. So I'm unsure if it was one of those, or both, that's responsible for the double yellow flashing lights.
