piscox,
did your uniform power supply (UPS) have a power surge protector?

Reading about power supply in Costa Rica, they specifically warn about power surges.
Would a consumer level power surge protector be good enough to rule that out??

I agree.
A UPS is meant for outages and prevents loss and damage to computer files and other things.
Different UPS designs perform differently, and surge protection is not a constant on many.

-My warranty was not valid because I used the unit in costa rica.
-speaking with an electrician he said there not purest form of electricity than one coming from an UPS
@piscox ...No disrespect is intended.
That is the honest truth.. I am sad that this happened to you.... BUT---->
Facts are facts.
Your claim on Youtube is "don't buy this vaporizer !!! can burn your house !!!"
Those are your exact words.
The warranty clearly states in the dead center... in a paragraph all by itself:
This Warranty shall be void upon transfer of ownership of this product and is effective only when used in the United States/Canada.
This implies that there is a danger to you, your home, electrical system, or the unit.
If I spent 700 dollars on something electrical, and the implication was present to not use this outside of the USA/Canada, I would surely not do so. To do so would show bold disregard for both the funds spent, and the manufacturers suggestions....
.. which makes your Youtube claim hard to swallow.
If Mercedes says do not drive until the deisel engine is sufficiently warmed up... and I drive before the heat cycle finishes.. The resultant engine head damage is my fault and I blush .... and accept this.. but I do not blame mercedes. I also do not feel that "I can't accept anyway that a 70,000 usd state of the art car could blow a head !!!!"

OK guys, I just want to let you know what happen to me , hoping to be the only one,
it was my fault, I used it abroad where electricity is worst than in us (??? really ??)
I will lose my money, I don't care , I already order a volcano , what seems
strange is they don't show no interest to know what happen to their product, I was sure they didn't replace the unit I read the warranty policy it's crystal clear, but I thought they will express the interest to see the unit.

by the way my forza UPS has :
- voltage regulation,
- surge suppression and
- back-up capabilities
- critical protection and
- power management by micro processor

Yeah mine didn't catch on fire either. I may be wrong but when I was researching to buy mine, there were no Herbalizers on Amazon from authorized dealers which is required for a valid warranty claim. If you used your unit against manufacturers recommendations it's really none of your business if they want to study your unit or not. :hmm:

I'll leave it at home next time I go to Costa Rica, though.

I don't know guys, if I was the engineer/designer/manufacturer, and had any liability when my product was being used properly, I'd want to take a look.

Is there still talk of a herbie for abroad? JMO but I would think there would be something to learn from it?

I think @piscox has taken responsibility for his disregard to Herbalizers recommended power source? Thanks to @Vitolo for explaining in layman's terms (I had to substitute Chevy for Mercedes to fully understand)!

Hopefully piscox rethinks the you tube stuff, because if you use ANY electrical device improperly it "can burn your house !!!"

But I see his point on Herbalizer not wanting the product back, kinda blows me away. If for nothing else, i'd want to make sure it is an authentic unit that in fact did originate from Herbalizer, as my daughter would say...just sayin'

Hopefully Herbalizer or @Engineer Josh can share their thoughts, they've probably already set quite a few ablaze during their obvious extensive R&D. That would also explain why they are so adamant about using the product in USA & Canada. If that's the case, probably not much to learn.

We do not know for a fact that Herbalizer did not want the product back. For all I know they seem to know nothing about this.
My contact with them requesting information on the "costa rica incident" was so far met with no knowledge of the incident or buyer, or request for help.!

Jack of all trades, master of none.
@Ripstar

I guess it depends who you are. I feel fine with what I paid for the Herbie (it was used). On the other hand, I feel the Cloud+ I got used was overpriced. I also feel I underpaid for my Versa Infinity's. It's a shame you can't test drive vaporizers.

I wonder if one person knows what the other is doing in that company, for a "small" company that`s extra weird . One says export model due January other says no way!!

Bear in mind that this "one person" that said one thing, contradicting the "other person" may not be in a position to tell anyone what is really happening.
I so far have not seen such a contradiction.
While @Engineer is a genius, and the man behind Herbalizer,... the company at this time is moving along in sales without his input.
That being said, I do not see any possible source of the contradiction you refer to!

Having been in communication with both of them, thankfully this has not been my experience.

Maybe your UPS has insurance on it for surge protection. Many surge protectors in the USA will offer tens of thousands of dollars in equipment replacement coverage.

Good Morning, FC folks! I'm a newbie to this site, though I've been lurking for a bit. I finally signed up a few days ago, to take advantage of a Herbalizer ad in the Classifieds. I received it yesterday afternoon, and I can say that I like it so far. Used the whip at 340 degrees yesterday, and it helped me make it through the day after very little sleep the night before. A bag at 5:00 this morning, at 400 degrees, worked well in aiding my desire to go back to sleep. :) I was surprised that the taste was still decent at that temperature.

I'll look forward to learning more about this unit, and will contribute to the string if I have anything worthwhile to add. Meanwhile, I think I need to go back and read some more of the earlier postings.

Oh, and a shout-out to Zingbuddah for a smooth transaction.

Well, stickstones, I didn't want to turn it up too high yet....I was afraid I'd be in burnt popcorn territory. But, 400 was fine, so I'll turn it up to 445 tonight and see if I like it. I'm sure the effect will be awesome. I've also ordered some concentrate pads, and can't wait to try some wax in it.

I just wanted to give a thumbs up to @Ratchett for his SonG. I was able to put it through its paces yesterday with a Side Circ. This setup for me has hit my sweet spot with a balance of diffusion and flavor, much better than any whip and glass combinations I have tried to date with Herbie. Another great way to enjoy this vape!

Almost there...

I have had my Herbie since January and have never experienced the burnt popcorn taste or smell.
Even at the highest temp you can pull like a madan and never get near that taste!

Don't be afraid, live on the edge!!

Like lazylathe said, crank it up. It probably has the most accurate temp control of any vape out there so feel free to try those high temps.
It will not get a burnt popcorn smell or taste.

I've had my Herbie for almost 6 months, and just now peeled this off. I didn't realize it was there.

I actually sat my bowl down on the platic while it was still hot. It melted the plastic and I thought I ruined the screen lol.

Also has anyone used a vapor tamer on their herbalizer yet? 445 was pretty hot for me and the vapor tamer makes it all so much more bearable.
