Short answer: you should definitely keep.

Long answer: start at post 1 and read the entire thread.

I just tried shatter on the liquid pad and it tasted like all the swirling and brilliant stars of Van Gogh's, A Starry Night. It's like inhaling art, my friend.

Lmao. You crack me up man.

Hey I've found the popotturi (sp?) attachment for the Solo makes a nice little cover to slip over the plastic plug when you refill your filling aid. If you don't like your grind getting into the empty side of the plug I mean. Not a big deal, but a nice FYI if it bothers you. You just lower the fat end over your plug, and fill away. Much less messy.

Did you win it from those who we do not mention on the forum? congrats if u did those people run a sham of a business though.

I don't know who that is and now you say that i'm afraid of mentioning them because i'm already on thin-ice with FC.

Hello to all my fellow vapers!

I've had my Crafty about a week and I am loving it. Expensive? -yes, battery life a little lacking? - yes but there are options to lessen this gripe. What amazes me is how cool the vape is and how little irritation there is, even on long draws, my only other vape experiences have been the MFLB and "pen" type/e-cig liquid vapes, both of which can get hot and cause a cough or two, but not the Crafty. The Crafty is the vape I have been waiting for!

Cheers

My dirty street buddha dried up to more proper humidity level overnight. Now that I've finally tried Crafty with proper botanicals I am impressed to say the least. A bowl is too much for two persons. All that has been said about this baby is true.

BTW I have no issues with the autoshutoff. Works perfectly, I never press the button.

I wanted to start out by saying that I wouldn't even be here if one of you IceHoles hadn't started mentioning the Crafty in one of the other threads I've been tracking. Nice one. Just minding my own business and wham! Something new to think about (and maybe spend money on).

I'm a very happy Herc user but my shitty wax supply appears to be drying up. That pushes me back to flower.

I read through this entire thread with growing excitement. The Crafty looks too damned expensive but the reviews pushed me over the edge. This might just be the perfect companion to my Herc!

Then someone has to go and mention the smell. Fuck. 15 minutes to clear the smell out of a room? Really? This thread was some serious foreplay with no payoff!

Odor stealth is probably my biggest struggle. When the disapproving spouse ignorantly asks why the room smells skunky, I know true fear. So far, so good but i can't tempt fate with some major stank.

Can anyone compare the odor of the Crafty to the Pinnacle Pro or the Vapman? I think the Vapman mostly creates that obvious butane smell but isn't too bad otherwise. It was the PnP that nearly cooked my goose, I believe. Is the Crafty as bad? The PnP seems to mostly smell during the original heat up. Is it similar for the Crafty? Does keeping the mouthpiece closed while it's heating up help at all?

Can someone give me some hope here? I've already found a buyer for my PnP and I'd hate to reneg on her.

Odor stealth is a huge concern for me. I haven't used or tried any of the vapes you have experience with.

I will say that at first I was shocked by how much odor leak there was (I posted the evidence on this thread)

Overtime, I've adopted a technique where I essentially manage the arc of odor with temperature and draw. In other words I power down the unit right when it hits the targeted temp and then I suck it dry. (That sounded weird) Usually about 2-3 very long draws and right into a zippered pouch it goes. In short it is as manageable as the Pax which I consider stealthy enough.

I would recommend not charging with herb in the chamber. That definately violates my odor code.

Hope that helps you blow $400+! As they say: Happiness loves company!

I wouldn't say the vapor produced smells any stronger then other vapes. If I'm bellowing clouds out of my EVO, you might catch a whiff of it a few minutes later, but it dissipates soon. Same with the Crafty and any other vape I've personally used.

That said, I don't think the smell from vaping reeks of pot to the uninformed.

If you have to worry about stealth with the smell, I think you'd be encountering these issues with nearly any vape. I think it might have more to do with the quantity you're vaping, rather then the vape itself. Meaning you might need to take small hits/not so often.

Long story short, I don't think the Crafty smells any more then any other vape I've used.

I've seen a few people on here concerned about smell. I have a buddy that opened a head shop. One day while I was in shooting the bull with him, I mentioned that my wife hates the smell. He tossed me a product from behind the counter called a Smoke Buddy. Sent it home with me for free. It was basicly one of those toilet paper roll smell reducers people make only in a nice neat lil piece of plastic and without the sickeningly sweet dryer sheet smell. lol.

I don't use it often because I prefer to just go some place where it won't bother my wife and so I can see the exhale. ( which for me is part of the experience. ) BUT, I would like to say, for those of you that need the order control, I tested this thing twice on my wife before I ever told her what what as going on. I wanted to know if it really works. So I started up the vape in another room so she wouldn't hear the beep. Then I went in and sat down in the room where she was watching tv.

Both times I did this, I was able to take hit after hit in the same room with her and she did not detect the Oder. ( Her chair sits further forward than mine and she would kind of have to turn and look back to SEE my vamping. Not happening while she is engrossed in her shows. Lol )

After done vaping, I asked her about the smell. She was very surprised and admitted that even after being told, she still didn't detect an oder.

I will admit that I can't tell. I don't smell the "reek" in a room while I am in it. Room just smells normal to me. So when you all talk about stinky vapes, I'm kind of out of that conversation, opinion wise. I do smell that some are stinkier than others while heating. To me the pax makes a really obnoxious smell when it's heating. Jmo.

So if Oder is really a big deal, maybe look into one of these smell elimator products, or even just make your own cheap toilet role filter.

Lmao! We sound very similar. I do all these stupid experiments while my wife rolls her eyes. Technically, who needs to know my preferable medicine already does. Not exactly sure what my preoccupation with odor control is come to think of it. Maybe I feel the stealth approach makes me a secret agent man or an aspiring Carl Sagan of weed!

lol yeah. I hear you. In my case I just do it to try and be polite. She hates the smell. I hate the smell of fried onions. Makes me wanna gag I swear. She always says that vaping around her is the same as her deciding to walk into the room I'm in and start frying some onions. Haha.

Funny man. I parade small jars of various strains under her nose and ask her which she thinks smells best and to describe in infinite detail how it differs from another strain. She's now a conissuer but doesn't imbibe but she knows more about Cannabis than any blonde bimbo budtender or dealer! Lol

Hi Very high
@Mr Mellish I can vouch for the crafty being less offensive stank wise than both the pinnacle pro and the DV Ascent. It smells when it heats up for sure and strong strains will smell more at this part. I don't feel the clouds are very stanky at all after the initial 2 or 3. The pinnacle pro's clouds stank!

My missus is hot on the smell issue of my lavender, as are the fookin neighbors so stealth is also a must for me. That given I don't vape indoors much, mostly on the balcony or by the window if its minus temps! brrr.

So far no complaints. I just had my session then picked up the wife from the in laws, sat next to her with the crafty in my pocket, ABV present. No comments about any smells from her or the mother

If this was one of my other vapes I would get all kinds of bastard questions!

Never got smell off my crafty either. In fact I would say it is the kind herb itself that caused me trouble Lol...got some white widow for the first time and it stank up the whole place! That was an awkward explanation but the weed smells of shit apparently. It smelled heavenly to me

Re the smell discussion, on mostly all vapes I use, the bulk of the smell actually comes when you exhale the vapor in a room, not much from the little leak between tokes etc. To address the vape smell during exhale, I use the Smokebuddy, and it works great.

We're finding the smell to be a non-issue in a house with mixed company. Two crafty's on separate floors. I'd say a spray from ozium would resolve any concern. I mostly use mine during bathroom breaks, sometimes when I'm cooking. Never without a room in between company. The routine now is stealthy, quick and effective.

It's hard to get away from any smell. Far less smell than the old days of combusting. I don't have the Crafty, but the Pinnacle Pro and the Ascent have a stronger stench than my Indica or my Solo. The Air doesn't seem to have too much of a smell, just a little.

Some day I may decide to get the Crafty or the Mighty. They both seem like great vaporizers. I'm hoping the price comes down over time.

I'm glad it's Friday.:leaf::peace:
