i don't know about the older top, but i'd say as long as the batteries you use can handle at least 10 amps and are of IMR chemistry type you should be good to go.

Just picked up some 18650 and 18350 AW IMR batteries. Charging them all up now! So a few questions before I attempt to use the SR-74x:

1. Should I disassemble and clean the sr74 before using? If so, with water or iso?
2. Which would be easier for a first time user of the sr's... 3.7v rod or 7.4v?
3. How exactly should I prime/load the first .2-.3g of oil into the coil? How long should I hold/pulse the button?

Edit: Also should I "squish" the coil? Heard this helps with the issue of the coil sliding up the chamber.

The included batteries that work with eo carts and kiss carts can get the Herc warm enough to melt oil into the lower chamber and make a mess, but will not get vapor into your lungs.

@Hashassin Checked your adapter to see if it can cause a short?

On the product page it says the persei comes with 2 AW IMR 18350 3.7V now, I don't think it used to.....

My Sr74x didn't come with a stainless steel cap. Is this normal? Do I need one? Also can anyone answer any of the questions in my last post?

Yes you need that stainless cap.
1. Yes submerge in ISO or boil in water. Your choice. I like the ISO method.
2. 7.4v white rod is best for beginner. Easier to learn and instant heat.
3. Drop at least .3 on top of coil. Push the button for a quick couple of seconds while inhaling. So this twice. This should melt all your oil into the coil. After that add another .3 to vape clouds.

1) Yes, disassemble and clean the Sr74 before using. This will remove any thing left on it from when it was manufactured, and it will get you familiar with the Herc.
2) 7.4v all the way! 3.7v takes a lot of technique.
3) Drop the wax into the Herc, hold the button for 2-4 seconds at a time and puff on it like a cigar. I like to do this with out the sleeve on so I can pull the mouthpiece and metal cap off easily and look inside.
4) I ended up squishing my coil due to infuriating sliding issues.

If you were to use the Herc temporarily without the metal top cap, it would probably get really oily and nasty really fast, and you would probably have to clean the threads each time you opened it up.

But I don't think it would necesaarily damage anything, just create large pains in the butt.

when I got my 71 I thought the same thing chronickiller7 but it was just stuck up inside the mouthpiece... hehe

Hahaha that's actually what it was haha. Got it all cleaned and assembled and loaded. Got it set up with the 7.4v rod. What is a good way to hit the button? My hits were quite hot. Also getting gurgling/slight clogging.

UPDATE: Noticed the coil was moving up the chamber. That helped a little. How do I remove the coil? I want to bend it more so it stops moving. I also noticed the nut and air-flow ring by the rod are sticky. Should I clean it all? Am I doing anything wrong? Other than that, what amazing flavor!

I ditched the air flow ring and never looked back

Hits real nice now that I removed the air flow ring. I've put about .5g through the Sr74. How much can I load and store in the chamber with out causing issues?

haha okay. everything else i ordered looks great. so do I just open a ticket and include pictures or something ? (never had a problem with a w9 product before so never had to use this)

I was also surprised the hammer top came w. the rod. coulda sworn it said it wasn't included

EDIT: also I got the sr74x (as that's the updated version being sold now) but still received the screw on mouthpiece rather than the snap on ?

Just got my kiss cart repair kit. Which wire is used to wrap around the coil, the one on the spool? Or the other stuff? Am I supposed to use both some how?

according to the website you should have 3 feet of Ti2 wire, that is the wire for the coil, then it says you should have 10x non-resistance wire, that is your wire that will be the leads that goes down through the insulator. My understanding is that if you don't use the non-resistance wire as leads the Ti2 will melt the insulator

The spool is the ti wire, the pre cut wires are non res. Wrap the ti 3 times around the wick (for 3.7 not sure about 7.4), leave enough on the ends to poke through the holes in the ceramic cup, & use the crimps to connect the non res wires. Follow the rest of the steps on @DieHard 's tutorial & you're good to go. Unfortunately (mostly due to my nonsensical refusal to ask for help) this was close to a $30 learning lesson for me.
