I'm gonna try this method now. I have been putting off cleaning it, but it's time I get off my lazy ass and do something useful. Before pic:

Anyone else notice that because of the combination of small size and weight, balance, and maybe most importantly, mouthpiece shape, the Crafty is very easy to use hands free should you need both hands for some reason. ( Dealing cards at your private game? Whatev...)
It just kind of hangs out of your mouth in a very nicely balanced way and the light weight makes it easy to grip with your lips ( in my case ) or loosely gripped teeth ( if that's your method. )
Happy accidental engineering perk? Or more of this fine German engineering we hear so much of?

I do wish the mouth piece had more swivel action. I don't like how you have to draw at a 45° angle.
It makes it hard to see the red and green lights on the unit. I wish you could have it stick straight up like the flowermate.
This is actually only a problem when i'm trying to get it to shut off in a minute.
I noticed when your drawing, if the green light turns red it resets the 1 minute shutoff.
This and battery heat up time and charge up times are my only real complaints but I can easily deal with that. It tells me when its ready!
I did however notice if I charge my crafty with a data micro USB cable through my computer it charges twice as fast!
Lovin the crafty so far though!

If you assemble the cooling unit with mouthpiece on the power button side the lights are more visible (also works better if using while plugged in this way), while you have it on backwards there is also the option to hold it facing up/away rather than down for even more lights in your face.

When I grip the Crafty I leave my ring and pinky fingers in a relaxed slighty open position so I don't block the light coming from the LEDs. I have mine at the lowest setting, but I can see the light reflected in my hand very clearly even though I can't see the LEDs directly.

Hey Doc! What amperage does your computer output? And how does the Crafty stack up with the ESV for you? In my eyes the Crafty is somewhat smarter…
That's my quick breakdown buddy:
Solo pros:
- Better battery life
- Glass stems are hot and breakable and not the best solution for outdoor use
- Much more draw restriction
- Less potent and effective hits
- Not pocketable enough
- Heater is easily overwhelmed by a strong pull
- Taste goes bad fast
- Vapor is harsh if you want nice big clouds
- Sessions take too long and that brings pain to teeth, tongue and throat due to prolonged exposure to heat
- Cleaning the stems needs ISO
- Not very good for sharing with newbies. You have to explain how to draw long and slow.
- Again… You need to draw looooooong and sloooooowwwwww!
Crafty pros:
- Design that cares to the last detail
- Very pocketable
- Very stealthy
- Easiest vape to load/unload on the go
- A good blow is all the cleaning it needs
- Cool hits even at max temp
- Faster extraction
- Superior taste
- Less fragile
- Easier one button operation. Press in your pocket, feel the vibration, pull out and toke!
- Free airflow
- Free airflow
- Free airflow
- Big motha fucka heater can take very strong draws
- Capable of huge hits
- No explaining needed when sharing, just let them draw as they wish and adjust temp accordingly
- Precise temp control, better control over the extraction process
- Micro-USB charging
- The included little brush can be the only cleaning help it might probably need
- I can pretty much go on for ever…

I'm replacing EQ with Crafty as my daily driver. Looks like Crafty heats up herb very evenly, but the hits aren't quite as crazy. EQ burns one bowl side almost black leaving the other slightly green. Crafty blows it out of the water. However where I'd get one nice water pipe hit with EQ I get 3 medium hits using Crafty. I must admit though that while on EQ I use 230-250C, using Crafty I prefer more like 185 before I "boost". What temps do you guys use when water bonging? @Stu ? @t-dub ? It was your videos that made me pull the trigger.
All things considered I am happy with my purchase. It's not perfect, but I didn't want it to be perfect. I don't want to sound like S&B fanboy, I'm really not. I like how the battery suck. Since I bought EQ perhaps I had been using less flowers overall, but much more often because it was always on. Now if I'm using Crafty as my desktop vape, pluged in, if it still dies on me I guess I've been blazing too much and got to go to bed

Anyway I've ordered the EasyAcc 10000mh power bank and plan on charging while carrying. I have recently bought a hemp waist bag, perfect for mobile charging station =)
To sum up I think that's a really good machine. Much more convinient then desktop, fits in hand, no learning curve. In my opinion plastic is fine, and while many people say Firefly looks classy I'd rather say it resembles Nokia 3310 cell phone. Crafty on the other hand is up to it's times, taking advantage of app thing, twisting to sides, parts are not stack one onto another like let's say any Arizer with it's GonG style path.
Two more weeks and I'll try it with some Pure Kush, and not that brick shit that flooded my city

I've been using 190°C with the occasional boost to 200°C.
The experience is a little different than what a convection desktop vape provides, but at the end of the day it's all about getting the extraction you desire.

@jdee, that is how I put my cooling unit on. In doing so I also realized the battery life suffers the same plugged in or unplugged. When using the Crafty tethered, it takes the same amount of time to charge up as it does untethered. Just something I tried and noticed.
@marduk I agree with the light shining, that's how I use my elevape. However, I have the lights turned all the way down in hopes of improving battery life which makes it hard to see the light reflection.
@natural farmer I am using a 1.0 USB output with an 18" Western Digital Hard drive data micro USB cable.
As for Crafty vs the ESV, The ESV has me completely spoiled with the instant draw
, the taste and vapor are also amazing! The size of the chamber makes it a 2 person vape (I fill the chamber lightly and loosely).The Crafty has a larger chamber and is definitely more of a session vape for 3 even 4 people.
Both vapes get you nice and medicated. I LOVE the instant draw from the ESV but it's not what I would classify as a "session" vape.
Both taste amazing and are simple to use.
......am I allowed to just love them both?

Is iso soak safe for plastic? I was going to gently try everclear 95%. What kind of plastic is used in Crafty? What's the chemical resistance regarding iso?
Besides, ethanol is ready to winterize after soaking. I don't think I have ever made absolute reclaim, is there a point?

S & B responded to someone that turning the lights down to save battery power is fruitless as the big ol heater draws soooooo much more power. So, if you want to see the lights better, turning them up is an option

I know my cooling unit needs attention when the mouthpiece wont swivel anymore from all the claim. Popped it open and was happily greeted with a good amount of gooey amber sap. Using a flathead dabber and dental pick I gathered 5 decent sized dabs. Vaping it off the e-nail I found this oil to taste a lot better than reclaim from an oil rig. I would guess it has to do with the fact the vape works so well with low temps, and that e-nails/skillets are run hotter, and considering there are remaining compounds with boiling points higher than the max temp of the device, it makes sense.
Also looking forward to reclaim pics

UPDATE!!
I contacted S&B Monday to tell them my replacement Crafty had broken less than 48hrs after I got it. They responded saying they would ship out a package including a shipping label to return the bad unit. So I'm thinking great I don't have to pay shipping this time but now I've got to wait for the label which means an extra few days without a Crafty. Couldn't they just email me the label and save me the wait? On the day of delivery USPS leaves a note saying there was a signature required. I think, WTF! Why require a signature for a shipping label? Then it hit me, maybe they sent the replacement with the label. Went to the post office this morning to pick it up and indeed they sent the replacement.
I couldn't be happier with there customer service
. Now I'm just praying for no more issues.

Just picked up the Crafty from the post office!
This thing is awsome! Finally a portable vape that hits smooth without restriction. The vapor is non-irritating at all, I can hit a lungful and hold as long as I can, and the FLAVOR is just amazing. I still have yummy ganja aftertaste in my mouth 10 min my last session. and I am high as a fucking kite afer only one hit! The only thing I don't like about this unit is the price to change the damn battery.
Now from observation, the battery should be very easy to change once we get this baby open with some special screw driver. $50 just to swap the battery just doesn't sound right to me. I am going to try to get this thing opened and find out the battery type once the 2 year warranty pass. And does anyone know if the battery will last a lot longer if I keep it plugged in while using?
