MiniVAP Vaporizer

I'm sure it'll all work out in the end .. Still it is kinda sucky. Though it is really awesome for us Euro dwellers that MVHQ is so much closer to home than a whole lot of other top vapes manufacturers .

When I got my unit I received tracking a week before I got it. This is normal with today's shipping procedures. Carriers are notified a package is coming and a tracking number is generated before the shipment is received. However, once DHL got the package it was like greased lightning. They got it on Friday and I got it on Monday.

Also, this is the first vape I have ever imported to the States. Communication is hampered by distance and language.

Long story short, it may take longer and not feel normal, but two sessions in you will forget all that shit.

It was the black one that I ordered - although I don't feel strongly about the colour so an email from them explaining that there were issues with stocks of the black wouldn't have been a problem. Silver would work for me too!

Instead, I got a shipping notification and my credit card debited for a package that DHL say was never sent!
So did you or @mixchu69 get a tracking link? The shipping notification should have a link to that.....or are you both saying you got that but it indicates nothing shipped?

Hermes is not out to scam or pull the wool over any ones eyes, so rest assured you'll get your Minivaps. Give it some time and contact them for reassurance.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Alfredo from MiniVap has been in contact with me and my order should ship this evening. Looking forward to trying it out!

I strongly agree with all of your views. They sent me an email stating that the silver model will come out next week, but have availability in black. I told them I will wait (love the silver color). I know this product is top of the line and would gladly wait a week . Just got the mighty yesterday

sounds like i'm best off keeping them apart then, better safe than sorry. I was curious because I thought maybe that's where I'd see the charging light.

You can put the whole MV on the charger, just do not run it while it's charging. Apparently it's not a good idea because of the high power drain. Hermes says it could cause permanent damage.

You guys know what is so awesome about the MV ? Even after two years of using it, a single load, .1g in a small cap, is enough to rock my socks off. It is so easy to chain bowls sometimes I feel almost too medicated, not that I don't appreciate that feeling hehe. I just got three pulls on some UBC Chemo and I feel crazy fucked up. I use around a gram of heavyweight indica per day so I can say I have some tolerance. The MV never fails to pierce through it, breaking the roof ! It seems like it would be very easy to lower my daily amount and still feel very medicated, especially since I have theses updated MV's with the high temperature.

I have not used the double for a long time, one MV vapor output is already something huge to handle.
What is crazy ? It does feel like I get more and more medicated using less stuff !

It seems like a tight knit community with the minivap. Maybe it's because of the high price point. So I purchased the minivap and mighty. I know from most of your reviews, this thing is a desktop alternative. I always wanted the herbalizer but buying 3 vaporizers in 2 weeks is pretty absurd. Do you think the minivap can stand toe to toe to the herbie. Thanks for feedback

With two great vapes like the Herbie and mini it all comes down to opinion. For flavor the minivap definitely wins but the Herbie isn't far behind. For cloud production they are pretty close however the fan on the Herbie bumps it up in that category. Minivap wins by a big stretch for efficiency. The mini is basically a portable desktop so id say your good on both ends (portable and desktop )

Thanks. That seems like the consistent opinion on this thread.

Really? My Herbalizer is by far the most efficient unit I've ever used. I can load ~.05g and keep a nice buzz going for 2-3 hours. Only takes 2 or 3 hits to get me started. Granted, I have a pretty low tolerance, but Herbie gets me where I want to be a lot faster than my other vapes and with less material too. I'd be shocked if the Minivap was significantly more efficient.

That said, I'm very intrigued by this unit (along with the Mighty/Crafty) as a potential addition down the road. Problem is, I'm not big on water tools, and it seems like a lot of people think the Minivap works best with glass. Does the vapor tend to be harsh when hitting it dry? One of the things I love about my Herbalizer is that the vapor is always extremely cool and smooth, especially at the lower temps. Even at 445 there isn't a ton of irritation hitting it with the whip. Obviously the shorter path will play a big factor, but am I going to have trouble tolerating the vapor from the MV? What temperatures do the different heat settings correspond with?

The other big turn off for me is the fact that it comes from Spain and there seems to be a decent likelihood of having technical issues.

I'm the exact opposite. I have an extremely high tolerance that has pushed me to concentrates. I realize that stretching out your stash is important but all I want is something that is strong, potent, and tastes delicious. I don't mind putting in .3 gram per bowl. Reading through many threads in FC, this seems to have the most consistent positive review on taste.

@mixchu69 I hear ya. My preferences have changed over the years. I no longer look to get super stoned when medicating. Slow and steady wins the race for me. I tend to get uncomfortable thoughts and feelings if I have too much (thanks anxiety). It doesn't take a lot for me to get overmedicated with Herbie. If I want to sip a bit more, I go for the Firefly, which doesn't hit me as hard.

Either way, I need a vape that handles small loads well.

The minivap is more efficient than the herbie IMO because the herbie pulsates keeping correct temp. When it does this the fan will blow out small amounts of vapor. However removing the bowl in between hits, on the herbie, solves that issue. Herbie is for getting fan fed vapor, minivap is for a nice relaxing session, and the mighty is right there with both of them

Oh!, on the actual AC brick, not the base right? There is a red light there. So that will go green when it's ready to go?

sounds like i'm best off keeping them apart then, better safe than sorry. I was curious because I thought maybe that's where I'd see the charging light.

Thanks!

Note when charging, sometimes a little jiggle is helpful, if you put it in charger knowing it needs a charge and the brick light stays green. Slightly jiggle 'til it turns red.

It is perfectly safe to keep unit in one piece and charge. But, as Kommyknocker said, do NOT turn unit on while it is being charged.

Enjoy

Do you guys know how many versions have come out? If they are updating, I would prefer to wait. I plan on reading this whole thread. Thanks

IIRC Someone earlier on the thread said that the new bowl will add a little conduction too. So maybe we'll have darker ABV if we like to. If this will mean even better extraction I can't imagine how high you could get with a MV in the near future.. Watching the accessory page everyday since one week but no new accessory packs still. I can't wait to order some new screens mine are dirty as hell and I'm too last to clean them now. Also my mouthpiece is coveder by a thick layer of wand hash :D as well as the cone.i cleaned the cone a couple of times because the amount of resin afflicted the airflow
How has your experience been with concentrates? Do you only use hash or have u tried waxes or shatter? Thanks

Ooft, good luck! I'd skip the first 60 odd pages, though.

And good question. I was wondering the same thing.

Yeah I actually just ordered my MiniVap this week and after two days of not receiving the email that tells me my order has shipped I decided to contact VN.

The customer service was great, there was a problem with the address on my card not matching the billing address I supplied to them. Everything was settled in a matter of minutes and Kyle even informed me that they just received a slightly upgraded version, but that it is only in silver (ordered gold) and asked if I would be interested..

I'm hopeful that it will be here on Monday!

Do you think the minivap can stand toe to toe to the herbie.

Mine does, but they are different. If you want bags and whips and exact digital temp control and instant heat up then the MV doesn't come close. If you want versatility and awesome taste then the MV wins. They both get you medicated with thick, tasty clouds. They are both very classy vapes. It's all about what works for you, but both are very good vaporizers.

Obviously the shorter path will play a big factor, but am I going to have trouble tolerating the vapor from the MV?

I had a problem with it. But your Herbie whip will solve it. I love hooking the MV up to my Herbie whip. Now that I have my glass mouthpiece set up I won't be doing that whip any more, but it works!

Regarding efficiency...there are too many variables in our differing setups to really make claims to efficiency. What I have found matters the most with efficiency is user habits. Both the MV and Herbie use convection and don't waste your herb between hits (although the MV is a little better at the between hits part). So it comes down to how little you can pack in and still enjoy it. Both of these units are satisfying with small amounts, it's just up to us to be disciplined enough to use those small amounts. I keep finding myself reaching for the larger basket when I should be reaching for the smaller...tolerance beware!

argh I hate hearing about these slightly upgraded units. really tweaks my OCD/VAS and prompts uncomfortable urges to buy another MV... not that I feel like mine is underperforming, I just always want more in general. I realize it's not entirely reasonable or appropriate. sucks being a human sometimes.

so I emailed the miniVAP guys to ask about the unit I received from Vapornation. I received a reply from Alfredo this morning, informing me that my MV was built in April 2014, and the version of the firmware is 3.2e_on. I would be very curious to know what firmware people are running, especially those who have recently purchased units from Vapornation or Hermes. Also the gold units... did they get their own tweaked firmware? If anyone has any of this info, please share.

I also asked Hermes if they are planning to release a vapor cooling attachment to either replace or be used in combination with the lid... good news! Alfredo stated in his email this morning that they are currently working on a simple cooling unit to attach to the lid, and they hope to release it "soon."

The bowl is smaller and the MV itself is more efficient. After getting the minivap I switched to it exclusively for a few weeks and my consumption dropped considerably

Almost there...
Finally managed to talk to Kyle at Vapor Nation about my MiniVap!!!

He had to get authorization from Hermes first and it is being shipped to me soon!!!

Unfortunately they only have Silver models in stock BUT they are the latest version that they just received!!!!

Kyle told me they are no longer selling the black units they have in stock since they have had a lot of issues with them.

Hopefully be here by Christmas if I am lucky...

:DI stopped being a real human at 18 when I had my level 5/6 Saliva Divinorum experience.

I'll check for my paperwork tomo(dayoff) though the numbers 2.7 keep popiping into my head :tinfoil:
Well I'll see if I'm :mental: then I guess.

Edit: You guys are making me nervous about my Black unit now. Guess I'll get in contact with Hermes about sending mine to Espanol to get upgraded of whatever.. \0/ Ole!!

I wouldn't sweat firmware changes. I know we all want to have the latest and greatest, but firmware changes are only going to barely effect the MV experience, which is already top notch. And the changes are not always for the better for everyone...look at all the people who can't stop hugging their original Cloud clickers.

I'm just counting down the hours until its time to use my MV with the mestizo adapter, and I'm not thinking at all about the firmware!

I stayed as far away from the cloud as possible due to US customs being so ridiculous with their rip off antics :cuss:..
I'd like a sublimator too but.. That things heavy and your customs would rip me a new one.. Monetarily speaking.
Really glad I did hold off and find out about the :wave:MV, Spain is soo much closer to Scotland

The one thing I realize with high end vaporizers like this and the Mighty, people do not want to risk the chance that concentrates will make a mess. But I assume that these concentrate pads were made for that. Maybe I will try it with a a bowl of flowers underneath.
