Maybe they dont have the heater yet? I see no reason to not give an update when they get them... it sure would be a whole lot better than the constant pen clip updates that I cant imagine anyone truly caring about.

What's powering the heater? What IS the heater?

I figure its powered by our love and dreams, but more realistically its the soul of the energizer bunny trapped in a metal cylinder made to look like a battery.

Yeah I am done for the night :freak::freak::freak::freak::freak:!

Vid shows a heater(pen) in use, maybe not the final one but it seems to be working alright.

What IS the heater?

answered in the first post!

-Safe: Clean vapor path, heating element is medical grade brass

brass, which is in the vapor path, and which can get to 205°C in ~5 sec.

and i'm really jealous (well not about the brass part) cause it takes my nichrome heater 30 seconds to hit that temp, pulling 12 amps.

Is the 'spiral' heater a series of small tubes that spiral through a brass slug? Is it rifling on a central hole in brass? Combination of both?

There was some footage in their IndieGoGo video which showed the prototype's spiral air path. Here's a GIF (keep an eye on the left side):

Right, I was worried about the spiral part needing frequent cleaning. But I had misunderstood and thought it was for cooling after the hit, when it's actually for generating thermodynamic turbulence before it

"Hi Trevor

It looks like things are relay starting to come together now! Could you tell me if all hoppers (SS, Ti, Coloured) will be shipping at the same time?

thanks Trevor"

**REPLY**

"Hi ****,

Thanks for contacting us. The Hoppers will start to ship slowly and pick up speed as we get going. We expect the TI units to be shipping in bulk around the same time the Standards are. If your place in the line comes up before we have the Ti units we will accommodate you however you want, wait and get the TI or be shipped a standard.

Best,

Trevor"

Make of that what you will.

It does show that theyre happy to answer your questions though.

Instead of posting more conjecture within this thread, why not shoot him an email with your questions!?

Geez. First time I checked this s thread in a while. Lots of negative vibes. Why. I paid for one over a year ago and don't even worry about it. Think of the circumstances you made the purchase under. You weren't forced to contribute and it is a kickstarter. They haven't done anything yet to warrant the mud slinging. Criticize the product when you have it that's fair game . No wonder developers are reluctant to be active here other than Mike (indica) why is the bud toaster soliciting in this thread ?

No wonder developers are reluctant to be active here other than Mike (indica).......

Obviously, you have not been a member here long enough to make an accurate statement in regards to developers who have been active here and the reason why I say that is because your statement above is totally false for there have been many developers that were very active here along with many who are not active but watch these threads very closely.

But I will say this. We, as a group, really put manufacturers through the gauntlet in regards to their product, and some of them can't stand the fire, but in my opinion, this gauntlet is a VERY good thing, both for the end consumer AND the manufacturer.

The fact is, is that there have been manufacturers who have gained a lot of knowledge here while taking some of the suggestions that have been put forth and have incorporated those changes in their evolving product.

Personally I think the negativity so far for the most part is fully warranted. You cant miss an estimated ship date by (8 or 9 months?) and expect no negativity at all even if the sales have been done through crowdfunding. Others will disagree because "Its crowdfunding and this is what you signed up for" but thats just my opinion.

To critize something that you have never held or seen , that is bad form . You don't run a gauntlet without a cause I have been a member for a little by while but I have no interest in the post count prestige

Wow. That implies that you actually think that most people that have a high post count here are doing it for the prestige?

And, btw, I personally don't see any prestige on having a high post count. As an example, for me, it just goes to prove that I have wayyyyyyyyy too much time on my hands. :uhoh:

why is the bud toaster soliciting in this thread ?

so, gf is right (yet again) - i have great difficulty communicating with people. i simply think that with my total of 14 years experience building and using an all glass vaporizer, and the last 4 years building and using an all glass vaporizer with computer temperature control and digital temperature display, i have some facts to share.

i respect different design decisions - which is why i bite my tongue rather than post in a LOT of threads - but not absurd claims about physics and materials.

The fact is, is that there have been manufacturers who have gained a lot of knowledge here while taking some of the suggestions that have been put forth and have incorporated those changes in their evolving product.

certainly true for me.

don't worry, bud toaster wasn't soliciting. for proof, go see if you can buy one!

thanks ... retail sales are still a dream on the distant horizon - after the laws against paraphernalia change. no desire here to follow Tommy Chong's example.

To critize something that you have never held or seen , that is bad form

i respectfully disagree.

and now ... back to the thread already in progress ...
