sig will be required for all int'l deliveries

the boxes to the USA are also marked "treat as abandoned in the event of non-delivery" so when your air makes it go get it!

@Jay b I think it is okay for one handed operation. maybe just rip off the protective top cap to make things more conveinet for you but you should be able to load and operate it fine.

Hi Folks, i was wondering if its difficult to get the mouthpiece to fit in the heat chamber, i was watching the videos and it seems like some force is required and the use of both hands, that being said i only have use of one hand so i wanted to know how difficult it is and if This unit is ideal for my situation.
honestly I'm not sure it would be great with only one hand. The only way to load it without dumping the load in the stem it's to hold the stem mostly upright, invert the unit and then insert. I would have a hard time doing that without the use of one of my hands.

i can't imagine the solo would be easier though. more of the air stem gets really hot after use than a solo stem however and i could see that being a benefit of the solo for one handed use.

something like the crafty looks like it might be smaller and easier to manipulate with one hand. however a solo is not a bad choice at all.

I haven't read yet where you can plug the Air in without the battery? You can do that with the No. 2. That would be a good feature.

You can set the temperature while it is plugged in, but it refuses to heat without a battery in it.

Now that I have had my unit for a couple of days, I've noticed it has gotten easier to insert and remove the mouthpieces. They still are quite secure, but before they required what I would consider "a lot" of force, now they just require "some" force.

I am not sure how dexterous you are, but I'm going to assume you have at normal use of your one hand, and that it would be somewhat stronger than someone who has use of both hands on account of extra use. I think that the air would be workable, though it might be difficult at first until the ring loosens up a bit.

If you were to set the Air on a table and then try to insert the mouthpiece straight down I think you would have no troubles getting it in. Getting it out will be slightly harder, but there are a couple strategies I can think of. One would be to set top of the air against something while pulling on the mouthpiece, or by gripping it with my teeth while I pull with my hands. Loading the stem is already a one handed process for me, I just hold the mouthpiece and suck through it while pointing the end in my bud. If the stem is hot, you can empty it one handed by tapping it against a surface.

the boxes to the USA are also marked "treat as abandoned in the event of non-delivery" so when your air makes it go get it!

I'm pretty sure this only comes in effect when the package is not addressed to a valid address or is refused by the recipient. I don't think they will be getting rid of your package if you wait too long.

Thanks @exit ! Glad to hear I can rely on the mouthpieces for water use, but

"Treat as abandoned in case of non delivery"? What does that mean?

If no ones there to sign for it that day, they send it back to Arizer?! That'd be really poor planning then... I'd have to watch the tracking religiously and hope it's correct, and hope someone's home when it comes? Was hoping I could just relax and let it come when it comes... looks like it hasn't left yet according to tracking

EDIT: thanks @CentiZen !

Thanks @OF yeah I understand they're policy on the Solo cracks, but the first chip was there when I received my Solo back from them after they checked it for me (thought something was wrong with burnt tastes but it must have been just a little residue on the heater), then in the next week of moderate use more chips formed and big cracks started as well, so when those break off I feel like its more than cosmetic. I wouldn't expect them to repair that really, but provide a new unit since I figured that would be easier, but it doesn't seem like they budge at all on the cracking issue? Even though I kind of feel like its their fault... We'll see

While I can't make guaranties for you of course, I can assure one and all it's definitely possible and express my opinion it's not even all that inconvenient. It was 'no big deal' IMO when I faced it, and being as it's an occasional handicap (comes and goes) I'm sure those with more experience would have even less troubles.

If you're really curious, try it a few times and see? Not ideal, of course, but still practical IMO......and in my experience. I don't think it's a deal breaker, at least with Solo.

Haven't actually got the cost yet. Just tracked it online and it says awaiting charges.

I think smokie's was around £50!
I hate parcel force for that... they charge you an extra 15 quids on top of taxes just for the sake of it...

I haven't been lurking on FC since last Wednesday.
Now to come back one week later and find out that i missed the launch of the Air.

Then after reading 25 pages realizing that i also missed the $199 Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sale :ugh:

Even worse i just bought a brand new Solo 3 months ago as a backup.

Now i have to sell it to get the Air. :bang:

At least my VAS keeps me busy. ;)

Well since the Air is back to full price :disgust:

I'll just wait until Randy at Puff It Up has the air in stock. Then order one from him.

Just in case i have some warranty issues. Randy is the man when it comes to customer service.

Not that Arizer's isn't. I only order from Randy when i can.

Ordering from randy will be worth it for USA based service alone. When I bought mine direct from Canada I had to pray mine would not need to go back for servicing. Shipping would suck.

Is anyone else getting little spikes of heat on their tongues from the air coming thru the mouthpiece? I might just be crazy.

Re: abandon on non delivery. I only think this would be an issue if you left it there for a REALLY long time

Well looks like mine shipped out today and it says delivery Saturday so fortunately that's perfect regarding signature. Just like my Firefly

Theyve been doing 3 day express for the free shipping, just can take a couple days of processing the order before it actually ships.

Yeah, looks like we're in the same boat. I got a message today saying that it will be at the house on Saturday, and it does, in fact, require Signature Confirmation.

Arizer has a Washington state address for returning stuff for service/replacement.

I bet there will be more sales before Christmas from all our favorite retailers.
And mine will be here Sat as well.

Now that I think about it I cant remember if the replacement Solo came from the US or Canada, It would make sense to have something on the US to deal with returns, Why ship broken, non repairable stuff back?

To start off, a tip for those Yanks anxiously awaiting delivery and longing to track it every 10 minutes......you know who you are. It seems the Canada Post site stops tracking when it crosses the border. Copy and paste the same (CP) tracking number into the USPS tracking page and 'pick it up' in New York on our side of customs.

I bet there will be more sales before Christmas from all our favorite retailers.

I'm not sure about that. AFAIK Arizer has not released any to distributors/dealers yet? Much as they might like to sell you one, right now there's no way for retailers to get one through normal channels to give you. Not yet. And with only a couple of weeks (what 2 if it's going to be delivered by the 24th?) I don't think that would happen in time even if they were on their way to distributors right now?

Re: abandon on non delivery. I only think this would be an issue if you left it there for a REALLY long time

Actually I think that has to do with Arizer's willingness to pay shipping and customs to get it back (return). Since they sold it (took money and shipped it, loosing control) I think the issue of it not being new any more may be in play? That is they'd have to sell it as a discount as used, refurb or something similar? Just a guess.

And I think I remember reading Arizer stating that distributors would have the Air for sale starting in January 2015? I'll try to track that quote down

Nah, they just have it listed. If you go to add it to your cart you get an 'out of stock' message.

Ah, I just figured they had actually sold out haha.

Did a ton of sessions yesterday. The Air is better in every way than the Solo but battery capacity.

The Air stem is dialed in. The stem uses less glass than a Solo stem, so it heaksoaks quickly to a higher temp than a Solo. Warm up time is MUCH improved. You have to be careful when unloading the stem; grab it just after mouthpiece-glass connection. The mouthpiece works great and takes some of the guesswork out of vaping. The small restrictive hole in the mouthpiece restricts the amount you can draw, so you don't cool down the heater too much.

Good lord this thing rips. The temperature 5/5 seems like 7.5/7 on a Solo. The heater is very similar in design to the Solo, just more refined. The action of the stem+bowl is smoother, no tight fitting issues with my stem, it glides in the heating chamber with a perfect amount of effort.

Compared to an aftermarket turbo style screened bowl, there is noticeably more convection with the stock Air stem with its 4-hole glass bowl, as opposed to a screened aftermarket Turbo style bowl. The bottom of the bowl is more browned than a Turbo bowl. I don't think aftermarket stems will be needed with this unit. Just screens and a couple travel caps will be everything I need.

The grill design on the top half of unit is there to prevent the device from heatsoaking. It is very effective and noticeable. After powering down, the Air becomes room temp in a fraction of the time the Solo takes. You can literally feel the heat coming out of the grill while the lower half of the unit stays much cooler.

The belt holder that is included is a nice touch. You can fit the stir tool and stem(s) in there. The unit looks exactly like a flashlight if you put it in upside down.

For me, this is the best vaporizer money can buy. It has everything going for it that I needed including things that other vapes seem to not have: Stealthy, extremely portable, user replaceable battery, glass bowl that separates from main unit, efficient with any bowl size, etc...
