Yes they did ship with the older style button mine did as well. They are still 120 on their site, but only the polished one.

My w9 stuff is driving me crazy right now :(!

I have been using buds in the crafty lately, and oil at home, so the persei and minicron sit in my drawer unused but there as good options. Both are driving me batshit crazy.

The minicron started tasting like graphite. It tastes like I'm vaporizing a pencil lately. Its so bad I won't even use it. Its had less than a gram of oil run through it in its life, and nothing but the BEST oil that tastes great in other shittier pens.

The persei/herc is still driving me bananas. The reason I bought it was so I can just slap in a ton of oil and not worry about it for days/weeks. I like the load as you go pens, but I wanted something that doesn't take constant attention. For the last week I've been finding myself CONSTANTLY having to fuck with every little adjustment 24/7 just to get a hit here or there (small ones) and then it'll stop heating completely. I've adjusted every part. I've cleaned everything. Its a LOT more work than I want. The persei/herc looks exactly like what I want on paper, but in practice I find myself disassembling it while driving down the highway cursing at the fucking thing endlessly. I want to say for every 5 good hits I get out of the thing I have 10 minutes of frustration wondering why it doesn't heat. Not to mention how difficult it is to disassemble and reassemble in some cases. Threads sticking, top cap ALWAYS gets stuck in there. The rod placement will work for 2-3 hits then bam stops working.

I'm seriously considering going back to china garbage pens...because at least I can make vapor with them. The next step is to just carry a pocket sized rig and small torch everywhere I go...I'm THAT frustrated with the thing. I refuse to throw even 1 more cent at it. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them, because I'd much rather feel happy with my ton of w9 gear than depressed.

I might go back to the headshop and get some cheapo pen that will work while I try to troubleshoot this damn thing some more.

Any ideas?

Only birdshit and fools
in all honesty I use a headvape pen for my go to stealth portable. it uses the carts similar to w9 but I prefer the taste much more. they also don't have the metal center tube. its a wick of some sort but it's a nichrome wire. Def not the newest tech but it gets the job done for cheap and they are reliable. load a G and forget about it until it's empty

darkrom, u don't consider your crafty an option for your concentrates on the go? Are you in a 420 legal state where u can get some of the newer prefilled co2 501 carts?

We are medical, but no dispensaries open yet. Not sure if I'll like the PEG/PG solutions, but I'll try them when I can.

I haven't really used the crafty much with oil. Since I upgraded my phone to 5.0 I've lost the ability to change the temps, and I doubt 180C and 195C are going to do much for oil (but they are getting me by with bud while I wait for an update to the app).

No added gunk on many of these carts here in CALI. Straight C02 oil - lab tested. Excellent flavor IMO. I also wouldn't use a cart with peg/pg.

If you haven't already, check out vapefiend's youtube videos on the crafty/mighty. According to his review team, both do very well with concentrates with the liquid pad.

My 2 month old core started smoking and now it stays on LoV and doesn't work. I opened a ticket this morning #2742315. Hope you can help me with this. I just purchased another core since I didn't want to be without one, but it's shipping to my billing address in CA. :ugh:

SR74x. Probably an important detail.

I know I sound like I'm bitching, and I am. I just really want to make this setup work and feel reliable and enjoyable. If I can't do it soon WITHOUT spending any more money...I'm out.

Whats the status on your gold connecter springloaded thingy in the middle? Are you barely making contact with the rod? Is the some oil in the mechanism? Is the pin stuck down?

Edit: i have had these probs and they were all solved by making the contact on the rod completely compress the gold springloaded deal.

With the 74x, the ceramic rod should have the entire white part by the contacts exposed to properly make contact with the gold pin.

My core has been acting up too. Won't fire anything. Stays stuck on LoV mode. If I try to fire a cart at 7.4v the Core will automatically reduce voltage and then go to LoV mode. Sucks! Been on battery power ever since, I sure do miss it ...

My core is in the shop too. Bad connection between the cord and the battery adapter. Only worked with the cord at just the right angle. Worked well when it worked! I wonder when it's coming back to me nobody's answering the phone or returning messages...

I just received my Persei. Charged the first battery. Wasn't watching it but turned solid green so I placed my second battery in the charger. After awhile, I realized it was blinking red. In the manual, it states that it could be solid green, blinking green, or blinking red when charged. I took it out of charger. Did not use the Persei yet. Does your battery ever flash red?
One of the first accessories I picked up after I got a Persei was a new charger. This was after I killed a battery using the stock charger-- I don't trust that thing anymore. Look into the Nitecore D2 or something similar.

The W9 gear is working like a charm for me, I dismantled it one time to clean it before first loading and since I ran at least 10g of goods and less goods concentrates without any issue (except blinking but I don't really care now), it's a fuckin'beast imho

@darkrom pm me and ill get you sorted out.

@itschad the double tops do not have any upgrades for it currently, we have stopped production of the double tops for a while now going onto 2 years now. We did offer kiss cartridges for its exchange but at this point they are done and out of warranty.

@chronickiller7 you can upgrade the single top but the double top no, please check my answer above this response.

@DaNi_DuB I am debating about releasing the New hammer rods but this will be around January if it does happen. We have to see what we are doing with the Flexo first.

@Fredster951 Still working on the Triton and the 8 Infinity kit.

More to come in the new year.

@THC SCIENTIFIC what about a 3 month old v3 top and 1 month old unused hammer top? I want to upgrade to the v4 whenever it becomes available to replace my current 2 tops.

No bueno! Sorry to hear about the problems!

What cartridge are you using on the Minicron? KISS Cart? Have you given it a cleaning? You can pull off the mouthpiece then throw the other 2 parts in ISO (i use a ziploc bag) for hours, tooth pick to loose any sludgy build up, the let it dry out overnight, and give it a dry burn in the morning.

Some things to check on the Herc.. A heat gun works nicely to melt the oil that causes the top cap to stick. Is your top cap threaded? That was the worst part about the SR-74 and it was rectified on the -74x. Alternately you could order just an unthreaded top cap and it works in the original 74 tube.

What do you have to do to "fix" it and get it to fire again? Are you constantly messing w/rod placement? The nut that you tighten to hold the rod in place needs to be TIGHT, or the rod placement can get messed up during assembly, particularly on the -71. Making sure the inside of the collar, outside threads, nut, and ceramic rod are really clean will help it clamp better; if it's oily, using a pair of pliers to get it just a little bit tighter than you can with your fingers will really lock it in place. Push against the rod with your index finger to test that it's locked down. Also check that any spring loaded portions are springy and moving freely, if you have a 71 you may want to try making adjustments to the bottom adapter.
