Vapman

:) how scorched do the "seasoned" basic vapmans actually look? i'm so affraid to burn this baby. :)

You are going to 'burn' it in-order to use it.
It will become solid black, like charcoal right around the bowl up to the top rim with the spring clips. You pretty much just have to keep using your basic and once it stops producing any wood smell 'n' smoke when heating it's burned in. Don't be afraid to play around with a hotter torch flame or maybe little longer heat up times.

The Vapman is very forgiving tastewise if you do take it too far into scorched bud when learning it's limit.

My Only "problem" with the VM and still after years with the VG is that I still try to go for that one more hit and end up with a little charred bud.

after the initial euphoria i hit a wall in the quest for mastering the vapman. :) i get slightly medicated, while the vapor production is almost invisible. i assume, i'm doing something wrong. i need that "holy fuck moment" @steama mentioned. but i'm willing to learn. :) how scorched do the "seasoned" basic vapmans actually look? i'm so affraid to burn this baby. :)
As mantioned don t be afraid to use your torch you can always add some seconds until you know how long you h
ave to count and how long your flame is (you can also adjust your flame length until you are happy) otherwise i would also recommend using for example toothpicks to close the airintake holes of the upper wooden thing.... so you will get a restricted draw and in my opinion if you take of the toothpick from the holes you can imagine how to draw on your vapman.... that worke dfor me try it maybe it works for you tooo

After 2+ months of everyday use of vapman I am still working on better techniques.
It is my first and only vape too and I am happy to experience that with vm.

I was using charas for a long time and last weeks I use kief.

Some days now I have a different taste in my mouth almost all day. Like my tongue and inside the mouth have burned a liitle from a very hot soup or tea, etc.

Does anyone has the same thing happened to?

I often heat up a liitle more vapman because of the concentrate use. I have never cleaned anything with acetone or alcohol except the mouthpiece.

I dont know if its from kief or maybe from the little burn of the middle part or some spliffs i smoked yesterday after being drunk outside or something irrelevant(virus from cold,allergie,etc)..

@Philreal187 I am sure it was the best hash session ever!! I think the quantity you put was huge!! I use hash only to fill all the surface of the screen. All is personal preferance, i think because of mainly conduction you get vapor most from the stuff that touch the screen. Also think better stuff not touch the steel filter.

If @vapman or other members tell us whether area or bulk is better.. it takes a while trying to spread the stuff around to touch all the surface of the screen..

The Vapman was Not my 1st vape.

My 1st one was a Vapor Bros (big ass box). Then a glass Vapolution Poker Vape, then an MFLB and then a couple of Vapmans.

I've given away all except the Vapmans, of course and I even stopped looking for any other vape.

I blame it on the fact that I smoked a pipe (tobacco) for a while and missed the ritual, and the Vapman filled that gap nicely. IMO, nothing else gives me the ritual the the Vapman gives me.

Now, three friends of mine have bought
Vapmans because of my recommendation and they both picked it up right away. Two of them had never even vaped before and I only told them what to do without even being there with them to show them. So I'm not scared to recommend it as a first vape either.

Also, even though I wasn't getting almost any visible vapor at first, I was getting a great effect, so this gave me hope to keep on going.

So I think that although the Vapman isn't idiot-proof, it's not so hard to get the hang of in a relatively short period of time, even as a new vape.

Maybe a battery vape will be a better 1st vape for most, but I didn't enjoy that "sucking on a milk shake" experience, no matter how easy it was with my other vapes.

But having said that, each person is a universe, so their personal experience is what matters. :peace:

I think I agree with the second statement more than the first. To you and I it might not be all that tough to take out of the box and use, but the clear experience here is that for a lot of folks that's exactly the case. Lots of guys have had trouble getting up to speed. Mostly, I think, from being too shy with the heat. That's quite natural, IMO. It's kinda scary and the results are uncertain. Add to that newbie issues of not really knowing what performance to expect and it can be a daunting task. Not impossible, but harder than other vapes might be. Harder than it needs to be.

IMO even VG is easier to learn (if you ignore the metal bats.....).

It's not a vape for everyone in the end I think, and for sure better for many/most after they have some 'other vape' experience under their belts. I have no problems suggesting it for consideration as an additional vape (in fact I think it's a nearly ideal back up vape since it's fun to use on it's own), but think there are better 'gateway vapes' out there.

My personal take, of course, no more or less valuable than any other unless it helps.......

Thanks. Vape if ya got 'em.

Ok, here's what we can do:

I'll get in my DeLorian, go back to the day I started vaping...

Give my old self a Vapman and convince myself to use it instead of buying that big 'ol box and see how long it takes me to get the hang of it... Or see if I give it up before realizing how awesome it is.

Now, does anyone have any plutonium they can send me?

Or some shrooms maybe?

We have to do this! :D

You chose VM and a first vape? Talk about a tough row to hoe......the man knows no fear!

Congrats on hanging in there to final victory. You next vape should be 'eyes closed easy'. While VM is one of the most reliable units out there, IMO a guy needs a backup of some sort as an alternative to blazing if nothing else. I think it's nice to get a vape that performs well on it's own, so you can enjoy using it from time to time. Perhaps a Solo? Or MFLB? Lots of other great vapes to choose from these days.

Regards,

OF

For now I think I'll try to master my skills with the vapman before I'll buy myself an alternative.
I also really like to be part of the process and not just push a button. The VM is really satisfying in this case.

However, now that I'm starting to realize what's vaporizing is, I will look into other devices for the future to come.

I do find the VM not stealthy enough, and unfortunately it's a big issue where I live.
It's not that I smoke\vape a lot outdoors but I would like to keep my options open.

Understood. I think the two suggestions I made fit that bill fairly well (I include external smell in that, an often overlooked factor IMO). Easier and more low key to use. VM is sort of the center of attention by nature.

If the new Arizer Air (basically a slimmed down Solo it seems?) pans out, I think it too might be worth considering (although it's more expensive, like twice MFLB). Both Solo and MFLB have large long standing and loyal fan bases here, and hopes for Air to follow on on Solo features are high. When the time comes, I recommend you consider all 3. IMO one of them would add useful dimension to your vape experience.

To add to ones you should think about...check out the hammer, i have one and it rocks!! Nice alternative from my vapman. It is butane powered and the 2nd model will have a built in nail for dabbing and such.

Good point, I have and enjoy one as well. But figure it, like the VG, is mighty close to the VM?

IMO a change of pace is a nice option to have on tap.

so i stopped being shy with the flame and the vapman didn't disappoint. tasty hits and a nice level of medication. just in order to set goals for the future, is dense cloud production without plugging the holes possible? i ain't chasing clouds, i just want to know, if i should set my expectations even higher. :)

@vapman can you post some pictures, especially the whiskey glass demo.

When I said, that watching the vapor storm in the whiskey glass is an experience on its own, I did not mean that it is something outrageous or completely new. I just wanted to say that the visual effect is an additional enjoyment when vaping with this vaporizer. This you have with all vaporizers where the vapor path is glass only, like the Aromed for instance. At the same time I am also aware that there are not too many vaporizers out there where you actually can see the whole process, which I think is a cool thing to have. Watching the vapor storm in the whiskey glass makes you forget the worries in life for a moment and your mind starts tripping off somewhere else, a very relaxing thing to do. Of course I could make a video of the vapor in the glass if you wish, but it is not really something new for you guys on this thread, I think.

I want to thank each and every one of you who took part on the last 63 thread pages. Only after I read through each and every one of them, I understood what a great thing I have in my hands.

This is the first time I'm veporizing and it was a bit frustrating at the begining. Thanks to your tips I got to know how to deal with my vapman.

And big thanks to @vapman for a great piece of work!

Thank you. Believe me, it is also frustrating for us sometimes to see how vapman is underestimated by a lot of folks, this makes selling vapman much more difficult than selling vaporizers with lights and bells, as some of the members on this thread express it appropriately.

If @vapman or other members tell us whether area or bulk is better.. it takes a while trying to spread the stuff around to touch all the surface of the screen..

You don`t need to spread the stuff all over the screen, it works also fine when you just place some bits and pieces. In general vaporization is faster when the surface is rather large than small and bulky.
With vapman you actually have a small oven in your hand, anything in there will get hot and vaporizes
eventually. You could also put some bulky stuff in there and spread it after heating it a couple of times, once the resins are hot they can be spread with ease.

Sorry, I don't follow you. But if there's something I should do I sure want to be doing it. I sure don't want trouble with the Stash Rotation Gestapo.........

FWIW, I'm using 7 because it packs to a cylinder. Stranded wire is the same, it takes seven strands to make the crudest version, the next one, is 19 (adding a layer of 12 over the 7)......I don't have that many strains handy.

The point is the tubes are nearly ideal IMO for the job. And cheap. I like cheap.

Simply a game I play with my egg to choose the next wee load OF, your blessed to have such verity .
At first I ignored the egg however it's as well made and tactile as the vapman itself thanks dude mines in the freezer now later she will hatch a batch of scuff

@hoyo77 if you read my posts in the hammer thread I ask about the "built in nail" in the hammer pro and actually there has been no change, just that they acknowledge you can use the hammer as a nail now. Cleverly worded not cleverly designed.

@Jospapaia I applaud you. No need for other vapes yet, stick with the vm it does the trick as well as any IMO. We can get awfully pedantic over vapour on here in reality if your stoned, your stoned. Saying that you might want a back up in case your VMware gets broken.

As for clouds, with the right heating technique I get the best results using the vm as intended. Unplugged.

Hi vapman have you ever considered glass parts for the vapman,
I've been using glass pipit(eye dropper) tubes for a mouth piece
Inverted in a small bubbler you can see the small cloud shoot through
It's very satisfying to get a visual without having to xhail the goodness.
..?perhaps a glass mid section is possible .As the name was previously questioned how bout VAPOPE as this seems to be a religious experience.
thanks man keep it simple.

@axakal Here's what I can tell you
Depending on how dry the herb is initially do a 5 count blast of the torch, wait 2, do 5 more seconds... Look to see if there is visible vapor forming and if not turn it over for another blast of 2 and hit it right after... If you don't see visible vapor forming just keep 1-2 second blasts going till you get there. That's how I push mine. It'll really help you get clouds and that 3 hit high I love so much. Keep in mind that the length if the flame will matter, but at a reasonable length (about the length of the wooden part of the mouthpiece maybe a tad shorter). On the subject of grinding, MFLB fine is too fine for my Vapman as I find myself eating particles. I ground my MFLB material to near dust. I find the smallest grade Kannistor 4 piece gets mine perfect. Thin but also fluffy so I don't eat particles. I'd say you want medium fine. Just my opinion there though mate.

@vapman your table top sounds so much like the Aromed, seeing the vapor swirl above the herb is very nice! I do have another question regarding the glass. If broken how easy could it be replaced? And is it borosilicate glass? Aromed uses the magic glass borosilicate and it seems sturdy. Lastly, how much would one of these run me in the US?
