This Air seems very slick. Looks just like one of those e-juice vapes.

I really wonder how the Air stacks up against Crafty/Mighty. The S&B vapes are twice as much but they are both in the same category.

The crafty looks great but its not perfect and thats a lot of money. You can get 2 Airs for the same price and have batteries forever. Crafty is $50 for new battery. You be the judge

As the Pinnacle uses 5V 3A for the wall wart it cannot be powered by a standard USB port but it can be charged while not in use

Actually, Pinnacle works fine from a USB port, charges slower of curse, but it still does fine.

At least mine does. I can't find my Pinnacle right now, but I have the cable I made right here.......

It's simultaneous charge/discharge. Really, there was no hope of a passthru without a much larger charger, this one is rated at 1.2A.

As well, the only battery indicators are that the charge light will go red to tell you the battery is getting low.

Yup, agreed. If you want to get it off the ground, you'll need more horses. At 5 or 6 Watts all you can look forward to doing is taxiing up and down the runway.......

I suspect they went to one of the common one Amp (linear) charge controllers (rather than the custom switcher in Solo) so a higher capacity wall wart won't change anything?

Bummer about the lack of battery meter. It's looking more and more like you're on thin ice if you're more than 6 feet or so from an outlet, and don't have a pocket full of batteries.......

but can't you take off the plastic tip making it a glass airway?? so you only choose to inhale through plastic if that is your preference.

That's unknown, somebody raised the question a bit ago (can you do it without burning your lips?), no answer yet AFAIK, but that's not an advertised feature. You can it seems also use the Solo stem. But my point was you might consider the plastic part of the Air vapor path before you start kicking sand on the competition......

You can take mouthpiece off, it is threaded so it takes literally one second. After removing mouthpiece, you are left with smaller diameter glass threads. Doing a bowl on temperature 5/5 without mouthpiece and it works. The glass definitely gets very warm though, too warm once the unit has been on for a while. So hopefully some aftermarket mouthpieces become available. Even just a super short section of silicone tube would be enough. Down the road, imagine being able to thread on aftermarket Gong mouthpieces, screened mouthpiece, etc. Possibilities are endless.

Any differences in airflow restriction between a Solo and the Air are due to differences in the stem design. Namely, the mouthpiece and the reduced diameter glass section at the mouthpiece threads. Both of which can and will be addressed with aftermarket mouthpieces and stems. I am able to blacken my herbs faster than a Solo for some reason. That mouthpiece forces you to move less air, which in turn prevents the heater from cooling down giving you a better hotter denser hit.

I wanted to hate the mouthpiece and remove it and never use it again, but it's actually quite effective. I think I will keep it on for now and maybe bore one of them out until aftermarket ones become available.

Has anyone tried the air with an @Ed's TnT stem or wong? Interested to hear about the fit and the hit. :D

Edit: Asked Randy at PIU if he knew when they'd offer the Air. With his permission here's the response:

We don't have an exact date yet for the air however we do have them ordered and they are in transit. Sorry I can hopefully get a better ETA next week

Doesn't sound like it'll be long before PIU's fabulous service is paired up with everyone's new most wanted vape (hopefully at a nice price for all his FC fans). He didn't have any pricing info yet but said:

I do know that the price is very similar to the price when the solo came out so i would expect to see similar prices from the solo release. I would be happy to pass on more info when we get it. Im pretty excited to finally get one.

@OF Or just use a solo stem and it's all glass simple as that . Like I said glass over plastics. No sand being kicked I've stated my preference is all.

Can't wait for aftermarket mouthpieces to properly fit in scientific joints!

I really do wish there was a way to indicate battery level. It could be hidden not in the instructions like the solo was. I wonder if this would be added to future software revisions.

The white condoms come standard. I kinda regret not ordering one of the coloured ones though. :(

Hopefully this gives you a better idea of how big the Air is. That's my old iPhone 4. The unit with the shortest tube on it is only about an inch taller than my iPhone 6 Plus.

This is a great pic for size comparison, so thank you for that. I'm anxiously awaiting mine to come in the mail! Looks like the perfect size, and coming from Arizer... Yep. This is gonna be great ; )

Hi guys! First post, new to this forum. Been following since the beginning of this thread.
Ordered my Air just before the end of Black Friday sale last night, silver with an extra battery. I held off until around 10:45 to see a video, and wouldn't you know it, right after I pulled the trigger, Soloman came through! Way to go Soloman, thanks buddy! You just confirmed what I thought to be true all along.
Thank you all for all of your info.

I must say though, in my opinion, the Solo has always been a legendary vape. Best quality flavour and clouds. I love the way the solo feels in my hand, and the flat part of the faceplate fits nicely for my thumb to rest under. Just saying. ;)

Sounds like my story. Last minute impulse buy, but I trust Arizer. The crazy thing is, I JUST got my solo delivered like 1 week ago after I bought it off MassDrop! Dang, my wallet is getting light!! =P

Don't worry Chainfire, if you like your solo, from what I hear you'll love the air, I'm sure!
You can definitely put your trust in Arizer.

I've had warranty issues three times in the two years, and Arizer customer service has been absolutely great!!

Or you can get a bunch of Mums for the price of a nice bottle of champagne.

Truth is, if both vaporizers where the same price, I would go for the one that cost more right now, it fits my needs better, I also think most people will do the same.

most people? That's a big assumption...
Somebody else said that if he lost both his crafty, and firefly, he will be hurt the most by the crafty, and I'm in that group too.
Why not take a poll? On a new thread of course.
If prices for both vaporizers were the same, which one will fit their needs better, or which one they would prefer regardless.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree IMO. I think "most people" will go for the best quality over price, and sometimes you might just find that you can get great quality at a better price.
I don't know, I guess it's just a matter of preference.
From doing my homework, I'm finding that some pricier models have some hick ups and maybe just a little finicky when it comes to cleaning etc. if you know what I mean. That's just according to the reviews I've seen....

Cool. I misunderstood you to say something like:
But I know for a fact the crafty is not the best portable on the market. I'll choose a glass airway versus high grade plastic any day.

which I took to be a slight on Crafty based on having plastic in the airway........

I hope you can see how that might happen? Some guys can get sensitive about what other guys say about their dogs and women folks you know.
