Salutations PPN,

M'well, it seems possibly around mid-September James got Kevin (aka Twitch) hired, 1st as an "advisor", then just an "employee"...

Good day, have fun!

:peace:

What's the issue with twitch anyways? All I can find is that it's an immensely successful gaming platform that amazon bought for $970m a few months ago...

It seems there's some misunderstanding, "Twitch" is an alias instead of some "immensely successful gaming platform" acquired by Amazon. Perhaps it would help to rephrase your question.

:shrug: I'm just trying to figure out what the issue with this kevin guy is;
from your link:

"Twitch
Social Video for Gamers
Employee

https://angel.co/twitch:
"Twitch is the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers..."

Is he going to give me a vape for my $79 :hmm:

Here's the link i actually provided, previously:

Which was found here: https://angel.co/loto-labs

Then this leads right over there, more specifically: "View all 5 Advisors"

...

Maybe that explains why i still fail to understand your reference to gaming, as much as i fail to see how one could conclude there's an issue raised by this - tough if you've followed my related post(s) elsewhere (but i just noticed some threads have been deleted, euh...) it's true i'd have prefered really meaningful news from the Evoke team, especially after they generated such wide-spread "presence" in the begining.

Is he going to give me a vape for my $79...

M'well, we all had an opportunity to witness how this evolved, on FC and even many other boards. To this day i yet have to be shown what was accomplished in terms other than just fund raising and public relations...

Perhaps it's time to refresh our memories by re-reading the whole present thread from start to end!

Good day, have fun!!

:peace:

Any update here....?
Still no updates?

Even this project had updates!
Seasons Greetings from Loto Labs!

Below is an update on the Evoke Vaporizer:
  • We are proud to announce that we have chosen our preferred contract manufacturer and that the Evoke will be manufactured in the USA.
  • Our electrical design is almost finalized.
  • We're creating a new e-commerce website that will be up in early 2015.
We've been making great strides with the Evoke and we thank you for your patience. Some of the most complicated aspects to the Evoke's creation have been solved and so going forward things will be speeding up and we'll have much more to show you guys in the new year!

Until that time please continue to follow us on social media and our newsletter. Feel free to drop us a line at hello@lotolabs.com.

Peace, love, and vaping,
The Loto Labs Team

If I buy the essential oil piece for 99 on the indiegogo website, do I need to buy a separate one for loose leaf? Is the $99 price point going to be more expensive once it is available to the public? This looks like the perfect vaporizer for me (like wood finish and very discrete). Hope it performs as stated.

Campaign is over. You won't be able to buy it until they launch their webshop.
And yes. I think you have to buy separate vapes for loose leaf and oïl.

There was three versions, flower oil and I guess one for solid concentrates.

Whoever took the chance on the campaign must have got a great price point. I think there is going to be a mass influx of new vaporizers in the next few years, with more medicinal use and certain stare legalization. If you see any poll in the U.S. (not to exclude the world), but acceptance rates are climbing every year. I Believe a lot of great products will be coming out soon. I also believe that innovation is developing more in the portable market more than desktops. Sorry, but completely got off track.

I think it has potential to be a winner.

First, we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! 2015 is here and it’s an exciting time to be in the lab. There’s been a lot of concern out there about our lack of updates, so here is our best effort to explain to our supporters the product development process we’ve been implementing and our next steps. But first, we’ll address the most pressing question – when will I get my Evoke?

Timeline for Release:
Our biggest hope is to get the Evoke into the hands of our Indiegogo supporters by late-spring/early- summer (sometime between April and June). As soon as we have a specific shipping date, we will let you know and be requesting your addresses.

Product Development:
The product development process we are following can be summed up in four steps:

2015-01-06_deadline.png

step 1 – project planning, our indiegogo campaign
Our first step, thanks to all of your contributions, is complete. Your support has literally kick-started our dream of turning the Evoke from an idea into something we’ll soon be able to hold in our hands.

step 2 – concept definition and main development
Step 2 is the most time consuming stage. This is where the product comes into fruition and we’ve devoted the past several months of our time on this exclusively. We have taken our initial design ideas, and integrated them into digital drawings. We’ve also researched our supply chain to ensure we can source the proper components and materials. Bringing our Evoke design concept into the manufacturing process has been extremely difficult, exciting and rewarding. For one, we are taking an old technology (induction) and using it in an innovative way (vaporization). Since this has never been done before, there are no previous models/blueprints/examples for us to follow or use as a baseline. We are innovating and creating as we go!

2015-01-06_innards.jpg

step 3 – product hardware, prototyping and software engineering
In step 3, our engineers are fine-tuning the Evoke to squish, cram, rotate, revolve, miniaturize, push and fidget with all the necessary internal components to fit our patented induction technology into its beautiful design. In this stage we are also prototyping: we’re answering key technical and commercial questions related to product feasibility, form, architecture, function, performance and cost.

step 4 – commercialization
The final stage is to get the product onto the manufacturing line and ultimately to you, the consumer. For that we need:

  • Tooling Equipment: We need to create tooling equipment for the manufacturing line in order to quickly produce units at a reasonable cost (as opposed to custom cutting each unit as an individual piece, which we have to do for our initial prototypes).
  • Shipping: We’ll be shipping the Evoke first to our Indiegogo supporters for real-world prototype testing and feedback.
  • Commercial Production and Distribution: When we’re done with shipping to our Indiegogo supporters we’ll focus on ramping up production and distributing worldwide.
I hope this answers many of your concerns regarding the status of the Evoke. If you have specific questions, we’ll try to respond with detailed answers, just email us directly at hello@lotolabs.com.

Thank you everyone for your patience and positive support. We promise we are hard at work, every day, with the single-minded goal of making the Evoke a reality. 2015 is going to be a great year!

Happy Vaping,

Loto Labs

Edit: we got some drawings of the design and they're halfway through supposedly

Loto Labs Evoke January Update

I really hope these have user replaceable battery's, So far what i have heard regarding this one is good. I think this will be a serous contender to the Air, They both got that in plain sight stealth going on. I just hope we don't get the delays another crowd funded vape has had, Don't get me wrong i wish i knew about that one in time as well.

Hi folks,
got an update now!

see it:

facebook_profile_medium.jpg

NEW WEBSITE AND LOGO

We have revamped our website and logo for a fresh new look. The website will serve as an e-commerce store for purchasing Evoke and future Loto Labs products.

ATTENDING CANNABIS CUP (4/18-4/20)
We will be at the Cannabis Cup in Denver this April 18-20. Although we don’t have our booth assignment yet, we will be located in the smoking section and will have working units on-site for all to try and enjoy. If you’re in the Denver area, we hope you’ll stop in and see us. This will be the first opportunity for members of the public to test the Evoke and see what it can do!

SCHEDULE FOR PRODUCTION PROTOTYPES + SHIPPING AND FULFILLMENT
Our manufacturing partner has indicated that our Production Prototypes are scheduled for a March 28 delivery. The Production Prototypes are finalized, working units that can be sent for tooling and used for production. This will be our last chance to beta-test and smooth out any functional flaws before going to production. Our estimated date for initiating fulfillment of Indiegogo orders is May 21.

mouth_valve_grande.png

VALVE DESIGN

We are also hard at work finalizing the design of the mouthpiece, in order to provide an adjustable air-flow valve. The valve is going to have a manual open/close feature. This way, when you are finished using the unit, the air-path will seal completely so that no juice/e-liquid/concentrate will be able to leak out of the unit. If you’ve had the same experience as us, you’ve found that most vapes on the market leak. Its essential to us that we design the Evoke to be completely sealed when not in use to prevent this messy occurrence.

DEVELOPMENT OF LOOSE-LEAF CAPSULE
The designs for e-liquids and concentrates have been complete for some time, but we have not yet finished our final design for the loose-leaf component. We are developing a system that will allow for easy loading and unloading of materials, as well as creating a superior air-path that will allow for maximum exposure of surface area of the leaf, resulting in more even heating and superior taste.

NEWEST ADDITION TO THE LOTO LABS TEAM
Our rockstar physicist Andrew and his wife Holly were blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby boy this past February 3. We are so happy for him and wish his family all the best!

Peace, Love, and Vaping!
Matthew Greenfield

Great Scott!
I'm rooting for this one unlike another oh so popular crowd funded catastrophe.

I see promise in this as a concentrate vape. Am I wrong for thinking of this as a concentrate vape that can also do herbs, vs something that excels at both? The Persei "can vape herbs" but it was only enjoyable for concentrates. Is it similar here where it can, but you probably won't enjoy it compared to a dedicated herb vape?

I'm totally ok with buying this just for concentrates if it works well.

Thats what they originally said but I wonder if the devices are merging. If so then I guess I will have an extra.
I remember that they said that they would start out with the three different models, and then they wanted to evolve to a single model that can perform all three functions. What do you mean by have an extra?

Time will tell I suppose; I'm just glad to see that something is happening here !

Well during the campaign I ordered an e-liquid/wax one and a loose leaf model. I think from what I am seeing with this "cartridge" tech they are creating is that it looks like the device may be multi purpose kinda like the V2 Pro series. Meaning a base device with different cartridges for different substances that you can change out and use in the base unit.

Edit: Actually at this point in my mind it could go either way with 2 vapes or 1 with different "cartridges" I'm just not sure.

That's cool, I didn't realize you were in for two of these. When I saw that you went for the concentrates model I started second-guessing my decision. Now it sounds like I will at least be able to pick up an optional concentrates cartridge if I want to, and you may end up with all three carts who knows lol.

I'm interested to see what kind of heat exchanger they come up with for the loose leaf module. I would imagine that it would need to be a totally different design, but that's just how I envision it in my own simple mind. :ugh:
