I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Thanks, I had seen that........ and this:

"At some point, Magic-Flight intends to offer custom and special request processing for particular specialty woods at an extra cost, although plans for that are on hold at the moment"

There were post on "this" thread mentioning they were hoping to in the "near" future, and was just seeing (and hoping) that "near" was near'er, lol...

Hey I know this a pretty stupid thing to do but would the MFLB show up on a security imager in the airport. I might be moving and be flying to my new home and I would need to take it with me. Anyone who has done this could you share your experience. Thanks

Yes it will show up on a scanner at the airport, but those scans are to discover threats to security, not drugs and drug paraphernalia.

I took mine through airport security on a domestic flight in Canada. I didn't expect any problem, and there was none. That doesn't mean your experience would be the same.

Hi,

If you are seeing the light still on after releasing pressure on the battery, there are two possibilities: 1) the battery is still connected, and thus still generating heat, which would cause overheating (ie, no drawing to cool the unit), or 2) the 'light' you are seeing is actually a cherry burning in the box, and not actually the light at all. If you take the battery completely out and you still see light in the box, then you had already reached combustion conditions. Things to check include:.

- that the box actually turns off when there is no pressure on the battery; is the push-back ring in the box and in the right place?

- You might try emptying and cleaning the screen (see the vaporpedia FAQ) to ensure that there are no clogged spots (might prevent even heating).

- Check the screen itself to ensure that there are no tears or holes (could also cause uneven heating).

The Box does get warmer and require less battery power once it has been used a bit (ie, within one session). However, if the problem persists and you have tried various techniques to no success, then perhaps it is a warranty issue (contact BlissSville -- if for example, you find screen damage).

-- Magic-Flight
The battery was completely removed but the lamp was still on, that is why I don't understand, it don't make any sense. But I'm not a expert, so there might be an explanation for it. It have only occured when the box overheated, 3 times last week.

I've not cleaned my screen so well, I will try that and see if that will prevent this overheating problem.

I've looked through the "smoke hole" and saw that its burned/black around the 2 elements, right and left above the lamp (the spot where the lamp wires conect to the elements).
Hope you understand, my english is bad so it's hard to explain it better.
I don't know if this is normal, but it sure look strange.

Thanks for my time.
Regards

I just got this off another forum with a thread about the LB. I think anyone who doesn't mind "wasting vapor" :brow: and likes thick hits should try it out.

"Also, I leave the top window cracked slightly that it allows airflow, and leave the battery in 20 seconds or more while RIPPING the thing."

I let my box heat up until there was a decent stream a vapor coming from it then opened my cover very very slightly, like 1-2mm, and just drew as hard as would be the norm with a combustion pipe for about 20 seconds and achieved great results. I got way more vaked then normal, i have acquired a high tolerance :( , and felt some reminence of a body high that i havent been reaching with my mflb normally :D .

Details: I was doing this with a freshly charged powerex 2700 and vaped about 1/2 a trench of quality product from fresh to dark brown. for reference (normally i vape a full trench to achieve desired results)

Hmmm, thats interesting! I'm in the same situation as you tolerance-wise, so I may try this before i go to bed...I'm anxious to here some more poeple to comment on it, maybe the seasoned vets of the box might have some insight as to why this works better, if it does...

I cant remember what wood they recently switched to (maple from birch maybe) but its way better. Feels more solid. I tried vigoriously shaking my herb after every hit upside as opposed to cooking a trench on one side for a few hits and flipping it like an omlet and had great success. My herb is a vaped way more consistently. Got at least 8 thick, good tasting hits off a full trench with a fully charged 2700

Purple haze: im not really sure why or if it even works, but it seemed to when i tried it last night. I think it just allows for more air flow so the screen can get to very high temps (probably more cbn/cbd released to get stoney) while you are still drawing fast, therefore getting thicker vapor than usual.

Usually its
fast draw = low temps
slow draw = high temps
but i think that with this technique it might be
fast draw = high temps (which according to this thread is what the pa makes achievable)

Im not sure if this is just different with individual box's but i like how my box hits (maple model) a lot more than both of my friends birch box's. I cant really elaborate on why other than just preferring it.

hey quick question about vaping kief in the mflb.. i've read that doing so will cause the kief to melt into the screen, clogging it. so what if i were to theoretically build a small metal or glass bowl i could fit into the trench and put my kief in there? it would heat the kief but it would be contained so it wouldnt seep through the screen

Hey all. Loving my MFLB so far, its honestly a life-changing purchase for me.

I had a few questions about the proper usage technique due to some seemingly contradictory information I've read on the vaporpedia entry and FC. On vaporpedia its says that all visible vapor is really just condensed vapor, and is therefore wasted THC. They say this is why the box was designed to produce no visible vapor. Yet just a few entries down they describe Pyromon's technique to get big, milky, clouds. Everywhere on FC people are talking about how to get the biggest, baddest, and most visible hit out of the box.

Personally, I don't care about seeing my vapor at all. As long as I get where I'm going, I'm content. Should I be trying to get visible vapor on hits, or avoiding the milky hits to maximize efficiency? Does it even matter?

Thanks all,

J

I have noticed that sometimes when I think I have just filled a nice lite hit of vapor in the box, then when you sip it you feel it come into your lungs warm. You get a really nice flavor, and then this is where I am often surprised the hit I feel in my lungs is much bigger than I thought it was going to be. It takes a little experimentation, but I am sure you will fine techniques that you will enjoy to achieve...

Good luck , and cheers!

Escaping vapor from anywhere is wasted thc.
Some people just like to milk and see huge
clouds.
You seem to know what your personal needs
are, so keep doing what works for you. ;)

Hery Vappy and Vaporgin: which version of the air intake channel do your LBs have?

Bottom line is that you can but it's not likely to work well, if it works at all.

Just as a matter of interest, those two things aren't contradictory since some people don't care about lost vapor. My real point is that you've mis-stated what Vaporpedia says. It does not say, "all visible vapor is really just condensed vapor, and is therefore wasted THC," because that would not be true. It says (in a few places) that visible exhaled vapor is wasted. This is true.

Some people like huge clouds and can absorb them with little to no visible exhale. Others just like the thick hit and are willing to sacrifice some vapor to get it. The way you are doing it will get more out of your medicinal phytosubstrates than the big visible hit. If it works for you, keep doing it.

Hey Everyone.

Lovin' the MFLB. I've been very satisfied with vapor only since I got it. I was initially shocked, now it's just awe. I love vaping.

I would agree with a few posts above. With my 2 month or so old LB best technique depends on how strong the batteries/how hot the screen gets. Faster breath with a full batt/hot screen unless you wanted dense milk or at an extreme, combustion. Low batt/lower temp, breath slow and it won't milk at the extreme at all.

I have been wanting to check out vapor bonging so today I pulled out the not used in over two months hops inline to see if I could figure something out without any tubing or the "right slide".

Worked excellent. I used the stem on the box and a Fro 18 mm Martini slide. The stem fits snugly in this bowl when held firmly against the deep center of the bowl. Full-ish batt and slow-ish draw can start to fog it up in the glass. Nice pull, not harsh or hot at all. Absolutely even easier on lungs than straight box (which is very acceptable normally). Killer. Love vapor bonging. I appear to be a minimalist in that I like clouds cause I get super ripped but I recognize it's a waste because I can get there with less milky puffs, it just takes a bit longer.

Peace, Love and happy vaping to every one of you and every nook and cranny of the world.

Great Scott!
I know many people know how efficient the MFLB is, but how about us with a high tolerance? If you consider yourself to have a REALLY high tolerance, how many trenches do you need in succession to get your desired effects. My tolerance is so high I really don't know how to answer that since I never get recreationally high, but it is enough to still be medicated for anxiety and OCD. I would rather not suffer with those and take a tolerance break just to enjoy the highs again. Medicine > recreation sadly.

So how many trenches on the other end of the spectrum here? I may very well just need to use more.

Not sure if this mod has been mentioned here, but I've been thinking about it for a while. I got tired of the rubber band rolling off the LB in my pocket and also having to keep track of it. So I added a very small brass pin, filed and polished it, drilled the wood base in the MFLB for it, tapped it in, and then marked a corresponding spot on the cover and counter-drilled a shallow hole on the underside of it.

I think one small modification to this mod will be that I'll file/sand/polish a very small ramp on the underside of the cover right next to the small recess that I drilled. This will give me a little gap to make it easier to lift the edge of the top just enough to clear the brass pin when I want to open it. As it is now, I just pull up on the cover very slightly by grabbing the opposite edges and pulling upward, but sometimes it's hard to get a grip on it.

My only concern is that over time, the curved wire that creates the downward force on the cover will gradually lose its springyness. I only have to lift the cover approx 1/32", but won't know if it creates a problem until I've open-closed-toked many times! :spliff:

I like that a lot nealcassidy! I never bother with the rubber band and have had the unfortunate experience of spilling (mostly abv) when pulling the box out of pant pockets every now and then. Your mod sounds like a nifty solution.

(And seriously, what kind of camera/lens did you use to take those pics?)

That's such a subjective question.

I've vaped a few trenches in a row, followed by some no2 bong rips more often then I care to admit.

I don't recomend it as a habit. That shit gets expensive. >.>

If you want a little more bang. Take an extra hit. The meds you use have a stronger say in how efficient your trenches are going to be. (everything else being he same)

Absolutely funny coincidence that you should post this. I'm doing a similar mod with mine. Using a stainless steel ball catch. 1/4" wide. Essentially what you have accomplished but the rounded end is actually a stainless ball bearing with a spring behind it. I'll let everyone know how I make out.

Pak,

I first had the birch model which I received in January of this year and my warranty replacement is maplr which I received last week. Both have the new air intake. The Maple one hits way better, even before I had a screen issue on my birch one.
