We all have clever little handles that we use here. Me included. My reason for a handle is to hide my identity, however, I wonder if maybe I'm just being paranoid? Do we really need to hide our identity? I'm 48 and don't care about what my parents know, so that's not an issue. :) I mean really, is LEO going to swoop in and arrest everyone who claims to be someone who partakes? Wouldn't that just plug up the courts and jails?

I ask this because I was fooling around in the profile section and was about to put my "homepage" in, but then I started to think...

yep i dont give a crap i think they have bigger fish besides i think i might see national legalization before i die so i can claim i was there fighting the good fight

I happen to live in a state (MA) where <1 oz has been decriminalized. I own my own business, and I'm 37. So, I really have nothing to fear.

Yet, I still don't "advertise", and my handle here is different than it is on "other" sites.

I really don't have a good reason why this is so, apart from agreeing with Hippie Dickie. In conversation, I'm much more forthcoming, but the Internet...

I live in a legal state. I would not be comfortable using my real name. The job that I have is in a conservative field. There is still plenty of prejudice against cannabis in the community where I live. Not sure how my employer would handle the situation if they knew I used cannabis. Maybe someday I will work in a different field and not feel so paranoid. Better yet maybe I can retire in a few years. Folks shouldn't be made to feel ashamed to use cannabis medically or recreationally.

I do take pics of my vaporizer or herb sometimes and post here on FC. I don't know if I would feel comfortable doing that if I didn't live where things were legal.

I kinda look at the law enforcement piece of it like, "don't you guys have more important things to worry about?"

Gun control and violent crime are huge issues where I live so it would be pretty sad if law enforcement was focused on combing through FC as a means to "bust" people!

For the record I live in a medical state so at least there is a bit more liberal attitude around here which also makes me feel a bit safer.

I'm pretty public about my medical status & usage. It's really hard to hide something like this, even using stealthy vaporizers, when all my co-workers, friends, and family know me as a life-long non-smoker. Also, just being the person I am, I have a very hard time not just being myself...

I don't do FB, or Twitter, .. I do Instagram, but I generally have GPS/location turned off. I haven't really shown my face, either. This could change.
