If you're like suuuuuper all kinds of bored, you could just try everything. The lighter fluid like he said, or the nail polish remover in my list are the practical choices for sure though.

Alcohol
Nail Polish Remover (Acetone)
Original/Toxic Sharpie (Varies, often Xylene + Toluene)
Lighter Fluid (Naphtha)
Facial Cleasing Pads (Varies)
Vinegar's also useful sometimes, but I doubt it applies.

You forgot to mention WD40. WD40 gets the sticky glue off of the batteries with ease.

Good catch Kaptan! dont know why i forgot it, but yeah, it works great for everything! especially sticky stuff...and anyone who lives up here(maine) will tell you theres only two things you need; duct tape n' weasel piss (wd-40) to fix anything.

Don't know from personal experience but Hoppe's #9 (for cleaning firearms), brake cleaner, PB Blaster (all around cleaner/lubricant), turpentine or gasoline may work well.

So embarrassingly true! I haven't had a can of WD-40 since I moved out of ohio about 5 years back. The stuff worked for just about everything - including fuel for my potato cannon :D

On more weighty matters though, it seems like my Power Adapter may not be fixed quite yet. After loosening and re-screwing the ring it worked great for a period. Then, I set it down and watched a tv show and about 30 minutes later I noticed it was getting RATHER hot - the battery adapter was painful to touch for long (hot potato!) and the wire leading into it was noticeably warm. I unplugged all the pieces, cooled it down, and then re-plugged wall adapter to metal piece and tried my MFLB again. No draw light and no trench heat on an empty load, despite the PA pieces still warming like they were in use. I'll test my MFLB when I get back home with a battery to make sure it's not the faulty part, but given that the PA is heating without doing anything, I'd say the PA gave up somehow. *sad tubas*

By the way - is there a post search feature? Thread search just isn't helping me find the hidden knowledge in these 380+ pages of the thread.

To me it sounds as if a short has been created in the PA itself. Somewhere inside a wire is touching something it shouldn't, that would explain why the pieces are warming up like how you described. The current is encountering some sort of resistance and is heating up the surrounding metal.

No doubt. And after the customary "sleep on it" waiting period I plan to unscrew mine and check it out I guess :)

On the search page, set "show results as" post...its on the bottom right corner.

VAPOLITICS!
So mY MF had a slight problem : the screen separated from the Oring on a very small portion (1mm) showing the wooden casing. The MF was still operational but I knew, and the seller knew the separation would increase with a normal use, and particulates would soonly passs through this "hole" ...needless to say my box was immediately changed, respecting 100% of the warranty!

What I discovered with my new box was interesting though:

I could end my previous "eternal" trenches in 10 mn chrono with a half drained 2700 batt, even brown ABV, enormous clouds...VS. previous MF where I had to be master yoda of breathing techniques to achieve a not even brown ABV, with hairy clouds.

So to make it short, my previous MF was probably calibrated on the very low side of the temp spectrum...while the actual seems to me like it is already PA'ed!!! :ko:

So true
My friend's LB runs much hotter than mine. I used my
PA on his box, and I had to turn the PA down significantly
to get a draw similar to my own.
No yoda :ko: breathing tech. just turn on and pull!
clouds to the max. I almost switched his with mine,
but I still love my luke-warm LB.
If Iever get another, I will ask blissville for a hotter
model... I sound like some old rich lecher.

I'd be interested in hearing what Blissville has to say about why some units run noticeably hotter than others. Mine is definitely on the low end of the spectrum.

I am also curious about this. My newest LB runs on the low end of the spectrum as well.

Yes my new maple warranty unit that replaced my old birch model runs cooler as well, I don't know if its the new air intake design or what but now it seems that ONLY my Powerex 2700's will get good vapor, before I could use my Eneloop 2100's and Imedion 2400's and get great results, not so much now. :|

I agree. My new unit feels MUCH cooler. Not sure if I like it as much. :uhoh: Just got some 2700 bats to hopfuly warm it up a little.... Not sure if I can do the $50 price tag of a proper charger, or the $60 for the PA. I have had my new unit for a few months now and I just want my old performance back. :/

Don't get me wrong, I still love the Box, and use it all the time. I feel it is the best portable out there.
I just seem to be a little disappointed with it recently. I am hoping the more powerful batteries will warm it up enough....

Also I notice a fair amount of herb will fall out the back when I shake it upside down. It also seems to smell a little more in my pocket where as with my old box this was never a concern.

Time will tell if I can warm up to my new box.

I too have notice the herb falling out through the new air intake. Frankly, I think I much prefer the old air intake, it not only looked better IMO but it definitely provided more desirable results for me.

LOL... Glad you are really enjoying it too!

take a hint from bus drivers in the north, to get their radiators running hotter to give more heat they put a canvas cover over the grille and partially restrict air intake, someone could surely come up with a workaround for the MFLB, perhaps a piece of tape over the intake hole with a hole punched in the piece of tape to allow some air through but not as much as without the tape. use holes of varying sizes to determine which yields the best results. ???
anyone else think this could work? :)

Great in theory, but there is no intake hole...is a shallow groove on the top face, under the clear cover...it goes from the round screen area, to the end of the box near the battery....meaning any applied tape to the air intake opening, would be lost every time you open the box...also, it's a shallow shallow wide groove...

Edit, medme, you got it...its pretty much the only way, except for the puff, pause, repeat method...(pyromons technique?)

I always find that when i show the box to someone for the first time, the hardest thing for them is to draw slow...it's counterintuitive to the combustion methods, making it seem ineffective to new comers...but you really have to sip it like hot tea.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, I checked the last few pages and saw nothing..

Apparently MFLB is going to raise its price to 120 dollars

hadnt heard of that, but Im glad I jumped in last month! However, this box is amazing, making $120.00 justifiable. :2c:
