too bad they did not implement USB charging..... the power supply clearly looks like a round pin.

My bet is it's a reworked version of the Solo circuit, which can charge several times faster than a USB due to power limits. The charger seems the same ($30).

You can, of course, always do this very easily. Charge the battery in a USB powered charger and swap it in? IMO charge time matters less in such (cordless) cases.

It has definitely been fixed, and if the AA is identical in resistance, I will be more than happy. There is obviously a balance that Arizer needed to consider in order for the unit to function optimally.

Two excellent points. FWIW I'm with you on the second but have the other opinion on the first, at least on basis. I prefer the original restriction (and controlling it with tipping the stock stems) but understand that's probably not the most common choice. It suits my style of sipping casually better. IMO there never was anything to fix. If you wanted less restriction, go with PVHES (although I get that this is cheaper and easier). I fully agree with the idea of 'if it's like the new Solo, it'll be just fine for me', and I think most folks?

And for sure it's the way it is by some process other than accident. By now I bet they've tested the daylights out of such details to fine tune their product. Ironically, I think, not so much to what we say but what sells the most units?

Are such new products in the market place for us to pick from cool or what? Capitalism, love it!

Try the more expensive and plasticky tasting Crafty.
The only taste I get from my crafty is the material I put into it, strangely I am not getting ANY plastic taste from these inert/high-temp rated food safe materials. Their melting points are much higher than the maximum temperature the crafty is capable of, meaning the device is not capable of making the material transition from a solid to say a gas, where you would claim to taste it. MYTH DEBUNKED.

Then you are either packing too tight, or pulling too hard, or both. It has definitely been fixed, and if the AA is identical in resistance, I will be more than happy. I neither pack to tight or pull to hard... I would appreciate if you didnt make assumptions to try to discredit my opinion. Just because it has been fixed in your opinion doesnt mean it was fixed well enough for everyone.

My buddy just received his Crafty 2 days ago, and is constantly complaining about plastic and "new car smell". He has been burning off dry cycles and said it has greatly diminished, and finally put herb in it and was blown away by its effects. But I sometimes think the herb just masks the smell. Apologize, I didn't mean taste, but rather smell.

I'm not trying to discredit your opinion, just stating what others (including connoisseur Pakalolo), that most people complaining about the draw is due to pulling too hard. Or perhaps not "rocking" the stem, which I don't even think is necessary in the newer models. With respect to "fixed well enough for everyone", well, @OF just said he prefers the older harder draw versions. Again, it is what it is...it doesn't mean it's an issue. PV are the only ones that make the "high efficiency stems" which I can't stand, because they definitely thin out the hits IME. I'd suggest passing on the AA like I said before, otherwise you may not be happy with your purchase.

There's no draw restriction with the newer 2014 model Solo. It's been upgraded. Check out the tread.

We will all have to wait to find out about the draw feel of the Air, but I would guess it would be similar to the Solo.

Those of you concerned about the draw restriction should wait for the reviews before buying.

I know I really hate the high efficiency stems too, the vapor gets to thin unless I crank the heat up to 7. I have tried a lot of different stuff to improve the resistance to make it more to my liking but nothing has done the trick with out to much heat drop. Its not like I dont want to like the solo and actually in ways I do like it and I can see some of the upgrades that arizer has made to the air would make me like it even more (mostly easy to replace batteries). I do not believe I am wrong in hoping for and expressing my interests in a more free flowing air path for this one compared to he solo.

I dont have to check out anything. I have a 2014 model solo sitting on my desk right now.

If your heat is dropping too much as you say, then than confirms my initial point that you are drawing too hard.

Is it possible, that there is a mix up and you in fact have an early revision? I agree with @CarolKing, there is no real resistance... this has been discussed in depth in the appropriate thread.

You are not wrong in hoping and expressing your interest in greater airflow, I just don't think you're going to get it in the AA. If anything, I would expect a draw the same, or harder than the newer revised Solo. Didn't Arizer in fact say that it will be the same not many posts ago here?

if the heater is the same (they said it is) I doubt it's possible.

They said the "heating element" is the same, that doesn't mean they didn't change the chamber style a bit to increase airflow. A company as good as Arizer who has changed the air flow of the Solo over the years, will have sure understood how to improve their vaporizers.

Cannot wait for reviews of this thing.

But I like it!
I've never used a Solo, so am really looking forward to a review or two. I'm a bit concerned about draw speeds - most true portables have some restrictions, but thats usually a trade-off against the portability. My Vapir NO2 is a fairly light draw, but isn't really suited for walking around town, so looking at getting a 2nd portable to ensure there is always one handy and charged when it's time to go wandering. Like right now, with the Vapir warming up and me with my 'Kyle from South Park' hat on my head, ready to brave the chill and wind, and I'll have to keep watching the Vapir to make sure the power button wasn't hit by a breeze and turned itself off... talk about wispy vapour...

Replaceable batteries are nice, but less nice when they can only be charged in the device. I'd like to have a desktop batt charger... or, with a USB charger, a portable battery pack is a great thing to carry around for an extra charge or three..

...aren't assumptions lame..... a actual review would be in order now.... come on guys

I wouldn't suggest bringing up 'what's lame' as a topic, you might not like some other member's opinions.......

And weren't you speculating a little while back, or doesn't that count?

I'm with Stema. Information, opinions and what's behind them are what we're here for? Until guys get real units, what we read, are told and know and share for other reasons is what we have. 200 posts worth in a few days? Seems speculations is popular at least.

Arizer Black Friday Sale ends Monday — Don't miss out!

Argh. I was hoping to wait for vids and reviews. Really wanna see just how large it is in your hand. (I know the dimensions, but that's abstract to me. The diameter is about 30% larger than the INH05 so I'm trying to picture just how "pocketable" it really is.)

Steama lights a fire under my ass once again. (Without causing combustion.):rockon:

Oh so it gonna be tomorrow at the latest I m gonna have to decide.
Hopefully that review arrives.

My options

A new Arizer air untested
A spare battery
A black skin
A straight solo tube
Shipping $55

Total loose change out of $300

Or a crafty for $429 to my door

safety alert ....plug your ears now.:borg:

The high efficiency stems just allow for to much heat drop. They are the only stems I have for the solo that cause that problem.

Am I wrong in assuming all of the solos that can run while being plugged in with the stock charger should have the improved air path? I got mine a few months after people here were already talking about getting the improved models. I do notice a improvement from my old solo just not enough.

Anyways I will stop derailing this thread and just wait till I get a chance to use one. Im sure someone I know will probably get one soon enough.

I think the comparison benchmark is if the new Air will perform equal to or better than the Solo. I can't imagine Arizer would release a NEW vape that performs less than the Solo.

Yet one has two batteries and the other a single one, meaning they don't operate at the same voltage for one, and even if the latter has a super high C discharge rate to compensate, and say if in the best case it's able to output as many amps as two batteries combined, then it's evident it will at least last half the time of the other before needing a recharge...

But for now we aren't even sure that they have the same power output.

EDIT: but before you flame me with your answers, please people don't forget what @lwien said: "YOU are not being threatened!" >> http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/you-are-not-being-threatened.16077/
