They seem to indicate not so: "High power, high quality, long-life Li-ion batteries, made specifically for use with the Arizer Air."

It looks like a 18650, but could also be say 17670. Not that some makers might use an odd size to lock you into buying from them, but some makers might use an odd size to lock you into buying from them.

That's not how I read it, I think they're talking the same sort of charger included with Solo, not a stand alone unit like with say Cera or Delta 9 (or whatever the current name is) products. My guess is you'd need an aftermarket charger if you don't want to charge in your unit?

The protected thing is an excellent question, IMO. I can see advantages 'both ways'.

Time will tell.

I wonder how long until PIU and PV have them in stock......and were their price will 'settle out'.

Fun stuff. I'm still wondering if the stems interchange with Solo?

As a color blind guy, I fully agree here. I, like most color blind guys (and it's almost zero women.....) I have red/green issues. Meaning step 3 and 5 will appear the same.

This is a serious handicap for some (many are more extreme than I am), IMO almost insulting. It's not at all uncommon, there are about the same number of left handed men as red/green color blind ones (8 to 10% of the general population), how many left handed men do you know?

This is not a secret, competent engineering and marketing types should have considered it (although they may have simply written us off?).

It's clear to me that none of them work for Arizer, nor IMO to they really pay attention to this part of the market. Very disappointing, really. Not at all 'user friendly' but it does have bling.

Time will tell.

Statistically, red/green colourblindness is pretty common too! This is an oversight!

Shiiiiiiiiiit just when I was considering selling my Solo, after buying a firefly, then deciding to keep it, then this happens...

The Crafty was easier to resist at that price at least, and the thread got way too busy lol. This one appears to be the same, popular manufacturers right?

At $200, I think I have to give it a go. Likely selling the Solo if its worthy...

Really great manufacturers, prompt custom service and well made products!

I'm waiting on a review till I go for it and ideally a UK stockist. I was about to cave and get the not so stealthy Solo to replace my broken Pinnacle Pro so this is perfect.

I used this site to see the size to scale on monitor, should work great out and about.

Arizer Service Today at 7:10 PM
Hi I saw the Arizer air on the web site,

Few questions

Will the Solo stems fit it?
Metal case?
Same ss bowl at the Solo?

From Arizer
Thank you for your email.

Yes the Solo stems will fit but the Air is designed for optimal use with the Air Glass Aroma Tubes. It has a metal case and a ceramic heating element with stainless steel bowl - just like the Solo.

Interesting they went back to a ceramic bowl???? Although I guess the actual heater in Solo is ceramic, but the bowl in Solo is no longer ceramic......hopefully that won't lead to a repeat of the chipping issue?

I guess that clears it up. IMO it's not really a ceramic heater, at least as far as the customer is concerned. You could also (correctly) say it's NiChrome heater (assuming that's the alloy), although ceramic is part of the materials used.

Technically correct, but IMO misleading. How many out of 100 owners do you think will look into the same old SS cup and call it ceramic? Nobody I know calls the current Solo heater "ceramic" and we're just told it's the same deal here..........

It'll be interesting to follow the user reports as they come in. I suspect I'll get one eventually, but feel no need to rush out (and spend more probably) to get on board. And, until I know more of the details of that BS 'have to know the colors to drive it right' feature, I sit on my wallet. I learned a bitter lesson with PuffIt here.

Thanks for the additional info, it makes sense after you get past the smoke and mirrors part.

Wonder if you can take the black part of the MP that would be awesome because it adds length which I don't want.

Can't wait to read reviews from the guys here. Their views have been crucial in my vaping journey. Let's see if this will live up to its pedigree :D

With that new tip design on the stem, it can will pass easier for an E-Cig device. A plus for sure.
Hopefully the batteries are found to be of a breed easily aquired at a reasonable price. Definitely a decision maker for me. A hand full of batteries and good for the weekend.?

Almost reminds me of a pen Vape.

The Arizer site shows extra batteries for $18ish. At that price, you can probably afford several.

That and the unit itself is 29mm wide which is a standard ecig mechanical mod width using 18xxx batteries.

Most people will probably think it's some crazy looking ecig

i really wanna know what kind of battery is in this thing.
it looks nice, possibly more comfortable to hold than a solo in addition to having the appearance of an ecig mod.

it was unclear on the listing so i emailed arizer. it comes with the new air tubes not solo style stems. they wrote back in maybe 10 mins!

i didnt notice the silicone sleeves when i ordered, so i asked for a black one but noticed mine was marked shipped at 7pm today :o

I called them 18650s because I thought I'd read that on the Arizer page, but now I can't find it. It could have been my imagination. They could indeed be non-standard and that would explain why the claim that the batteries are exclusive.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a post to edit.

You aren't imagining things. I left the page open on another browser and could see that it did used to say 1x 18650 Battery on the Air product page. it has definitely been removed. waiting to get my unit to confirm before i go off buying more 18650s. i thought the one pictured for the replacement battery looked a little weird.

G'day all, been lurking for awhile - first post. I contacted Arizer regarding the battery and reply was as follows:
"The Air uses a high-drain 18650 cell that has been made specifically for use with the Arizer Air. The use of counterfeit and/or inferior-quality lithium batteries can cause internal shorts leading to fires and/or explosions which can result in property damage and/or personal injury. The use of third party batteries could greatly reduce run time/output performance, damage your Arizer Air, constitute a safety hazard and voids all warranties."

Holy mother of god. I recently dropped my Solo into a lake. This could not have been better timing as I almost went with a Crafty vape. I just placed my order for an AA. This vape is literally hot off the presses. Not available anywhere else, secretly launched a day or two ago it appears.

I was an early adopter for Xbox 360 (RROD) and PS3 (YLOD). Hopefully this thing doesn't have lights and error messages like the Crafty, lol.

@CarolKing I just saw this on the Puffitup site... so, yes!

And, hey, wouldn't the lovely Solo stems & gongs that @Ed's TnT make also fit this? There ya go, @CentiZen (I think it was you...), better stems & gongs, too.

This is making me go "hmmmmm"... but, I can't justify it now (elevape works fine, and I just got pricey glass...)... but, I really like this. I think they did a good job with this design!

Glad to see the stems will be the same dimension as the solos. ;)

Edit: has anybody asked arizer about the draw restriction vs the solo? I'd hope it'd be more open with a name like "air". Lol

Edit #2: also, I love how arizer doesn't build up a big ass hype train. Shows confidence. There just like "oh yeah, we've got a new vape coming. Actually you can buy it starting today". Brilliant!

Standing stone faced like a statue.
That was my thinking exactly, since my only complaint was the restricted draw(on the solo).
