The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

Good evening chaps! Just thought I'd pop a quick post here- for the past few weeks I've had the honour of testing one of the latest batch of Evos. Didn't want to jump the gun and post anything to get folk excited before the release was finalised but as they seem to be sending them out soon I thought I'd post my thoughts/review.

After signing up to the original indiegogo campaign I've been waiting along with everyone and suffering from the ever increasing frustration, which was not helped by my original Evo going into melt down only a week after I received it and sitting unusable on my desk for the past six months or so

So now I finally have a working device has it been worth the wait!? The answer is a most emphatic YES! I've been experimenting with my test model for weeks now and still think I have yet to get the best out of it. I've been using the Davinci Ascent for the past year or so whilst waiting for the Evo (and to keep me from combusting), and whilst the Ascent is a excellent portable device the Evo blows it out of the water in every way. While obviously one would expect better performance from a desktop device the Evo excels at everything it does, in fact if I can find anything to complain about it's that it's almost too powerful:o

Also good news is that I've been testing my unit for hours at all temperatures and have had no problems at all- it holds temp very well and I've not had to reset it once. It's not gone into nuclear meltdown either which is a massive bonus. I've been testing it at various temps/settings/amounts of herb and am only really now getting to grips with it as it is so versatile. I started testing at about 2 o'clock on the dial using the same amount as I pop into my Ascent and it literally blew me away. Taste and flavour is fantastic and filtering through a hydratube containing fresh cold water means a smooth toke no matter how much of a lungful you inhale.

I own two hydratubes (both sat on my bookshelves for the past six months unused and taunting me!)- the basic swagger sidecirc and the extremely large swagger perc with the turbine (can't remember the name). After a great deal of testing with different temps etc I've found that the smaller perc is great for use on my own when I'm just sipping at the vapour and finishing a ELB to myself, whereas the larger one is too much for one man and best used in company where you can pack a bowl and have a bit of a competition to see who can spin the water through the turbine! I already have a hankering after new bits of glasswear which with xmas on the way might be dangerous:)

I've discovered what works best for me generally being an evening partaker is to pop a minuscule amount of herb into an ELB (I'm not joking- about 0.03g), switch my Evo on at 12 o'clock, leave for fifteen minutes or so to heat up and then turn it down to 9-10 and hit it. I don't get huge clouds at that temp but I prefer a lighter vapour and greater taste and can then turn it up if needed. I don't think I've tried it past about 3 'oclock and even at 12 it produces monster clouds!

In summary I am extremely happy with the Evo. It seems to me by far the best product out there, especially with the hydratube, and although it's been a maddening journey I'd say it's definitely been worth the wait. I for one am grateful that I held on, I hope you guys get your Evos soon and we can get some happy comments on this thread!

Really happy that it sounds like its all fixed and you guys will finally be getting your units.

I've taken the decision to sit back and wait this out and see if there are any more twists and turns especially on faulty units and shipping/return policy/time this takes, very envious of you guys and will keep an eye on the situation, if no issues within 6 months then will try and grab a bargain (they are having a 25% sale today for example) later down the line.

If they do something for the UK launch i.e a price reduction, offer etc then I might consider it but full price after all this wait and missing countless better deals including today makes it hard.

Looking forward to reading all your thoughts in the coming weeks!

Anyway, new Arizer Solo Air should be here next week and sure that will keep me occupied for a bit!

2015 gonna be a crowded marketplace!

Not at all, 2 weeks ago got an email saying they confirmed my address and since then nothing. I'm doubtful of this getting shipped before christmas, never mind received.

Hey polvoman,I think the air is quite a good bit of kit. Basically a smaller solo but I only use it occasionally, my main portable is crafty and although the air is good it doesn't compare.
The crafty is like a portable evo!

its really that good?

my air has replaced the solo completely loving it through the fbomb.

shit, going to have to have a proper look at the crafty now, do you know if it can be linked up to water tools easily?

mod note: You're off topic and asking to take it further off. Please discuss other models in the appropriate thread.

yeah, no shipping update. Think its painfully obvious we were put on the back burner along time ago.

They have our money so were just strung along, they make more money from domestic customers so we are just chump. Its aggravating as the igg ppl helped fund this whole thing and to be borderline forgotten about and swept under the rug is just plain rude.

I would have expected them to make this THE major priority but it seems making the most $ from new sales is on the top of their list. Profit makes sense but decency goes along way.

Well what a year can do for a good ol U turn hey.

In the space of a year they have managed (imo) to completely piss off their core European target market, the early adopters, the people that will sell and support your product and rave about it for free (including investors).

It is now not worth the money that they are asking for it even without the constant reductions, sales, offers and massdrops that seem to be on at least a bi-monthly basis.

Last year maybe but not this year with so much competition and the more cheap looking glass that they make (they should be giving away that recycler for free!!) is not helping at all.

I really hope all of you have taken your money out of their company purely down to the way you have been treated as customers, it is the only way to show that their completely unacceptable business practices are exactly that, unacceptable.

While I do feel with you guys and can totally understand your path of thinking I chose for myself a more relaxed point of view that I primarily gave some money to help FC family member(s) and the Vape community safe this creation of vapes team and we suceeded there it seems to me, (whereas most funding came from themselfs from what I gathered) but I am sure the support helped rising their spirits back then :D

Concerning plans: yesterday I heard that they plan to open an international airport in 2017 that was scheduled to open in 2011 ;)

and with that I'd like to give back to the studio for scheduled anticipation :spliff:

Just been on the Vapefiend website and noticed it no longer states 'hopefully releasing in time for christmas' at the bottom of the listing, it now says 'expecting stock at the beginning of January'

I guess everybody already realized getting one for christmas was out of the question now with it being the 17th already but just passing the info on.

The goal post has yet again been moved, I knew I shouldnt have got excited after the last update, Ive really lost all patients with this now and beginning to loose interest as well.

It's unbelievable really. I have never experienced worse customer service. Sure, I've bought bad products before, but this repetitive lying and utter disrespect is ridiculous. I've had this thread bookmarked and just noticed that it's in its own little subsection. Maybe that's why they don't care. They don't care about us as customers, and the complaints are out of sight.
What's really unbelievable is that I still haven't canceled. I'm just grumpy that I already paid import taxes and have anticipated so long. I was planning on waiting it out and selling it if I'm not happy. I'm very close to my breaking point though.
Props to vakedcow for staying calm.

This is over the line. @stonemonkey55 is one of the earliest members of FC and was a moderator here before he became an entrepreneur. While VXL has certainly let people down and failed to deliver on promises, accusing them of lying is neither accurate nor fair. It is also against our rules even if it were true. Please review our rules and think more carefully before you post again.

This thread is in a sub-section reserved for posts about anticipation and shipping so that they do not clog up the device thread. The Cloud EVO is not the only one that has been in this sub-section, and it is not intended to hide anyone's complaints. The other threads are no longer here because those devices have been shipped.

I emailed vapexhale a few of days ago to see what the deal is, I was fairly polite and just wanted to find out if they are actually building our units or whether they are too busy making cash from domestic sales to bother using their facilities to produce our units.
Still waiting on a reply. . .

Alright, I apologize for the sub-section comment, and I may have let my emotions get a little ahead of me. I remembered this thread being in the "Plug-in Vaporizers" subsection, and thought I remembered it being there for a while. I accept that I'm wrong about that.
However, (IMO) there is no way that Vapexhale has just happened to repeatedly promise all these dates and extras and failed to deliver. If you haven't been following closely, you may not realize how many times this has actually occurred.
I also find the fact that stonemonkey was one of the earliest members and a moderator before he became an entrepreneur is completely irrelevant to how Vapexhale is operating and treating international IGG customers (many of whom are most likely FC members, if that makes a difference).
Again, sorry for the heated comment.

Apology accepted, thank you.

You're right that this thread was in the Plug-ins section in the beginning. This section was added later, when we had other similar threads.

I have been following this closely. My reason for bringing up stonemonkey55's history here is that some of us have known him for a long time and it isn't his nature to lie. Whatever you think, I am convinced that he has not lied to you.

It's not lies but failed deadlines and vague updates that is upsetting many customers who put in their hard earned money expecting a solid working product that is a year late. These are some of the risks involved when putting money into crowd sourcing. They have at least offered a refund to anyone not wishing to wait which is fair in my opinion.

Hopefully the team at VapexHale will throw in a surprise gift for all the patient international funders when it's ready to ship which will leave most people with a positive outlook towards the team at VapexHale ;)

The repeated failed deadlines/promises and vague updates are exactly what lead me to believe that they were simply hyping things up to keep people interested. I understand failed deadlines are a part of business, but I can't believe that Vapexhale truly expected to meet all of these promises.

Then again, I have never been in stonemonkey's position, and I'm simply making assumptions and taking them as fact. Also, yes I have the option to cancel for a refund and so far have chosen not to. For these reasons, I will refrain from making any more comments unless it is a review.

Happy holidays everyone!

Support VapeXhale replied:
Good Morning International Vaporists,

Happy Holidays as we are almost ready to send out the International EVOs!

To avoid any possible shipping issues like broken glass, or non-updating tracking ID's we are shipping all of the EVO's and accessories first to our Distribution Partners.

Individual packages will then be sent out once the shipment is received. This will allow us to ensure that even if something does bring in shipping, our Distribution Partners will have replacement inventory if necessary.

We are in the process of building and packing up the EVO's and are working as quickly as possible to get the International EVO's out.

We will send you another email to confirm once the shipment has been received by our partners, along with an updated timeline of when to expect your EVO to arrive.

Thank you as always for your sincere determination and faith in us, as well as our company and product! We are thrilled to have gotten to this point, and are incredibly excited for all of you to be able to own this piece of Vaporization history!

Sincerely,

Seibo Shen

Sorry I'm already breaking my promise. ;) Am I understanding this update correctly?
:worms:
Vapexhale is sending the 220v evos to their international distributers incase a select few have non-updating tracking numbers or receive broken glass. Is this not causing every international customer to wait even longer until the big shipment is cleared, new units are built/sent out, and these problems can even be verified? Instead of say, shipping the units to the customers and then new units to the distributers. Or even send the units to the customers and a few to the distributer at the same time. There really can't be that many who have problems receiving their units.
In the event of a non-updating tracking number, they would surely contact the shipping company to find out what's wrong instead of simply sending another unit? Then those select few with broken glass or a truly mia package would have to wait just as long as everyone currently does according to the plan and those without problems would receive their units faster. :hmm:
Am I crazy?:mental:

November 25th:
It has been a long road, but with the Holidays fast approaching, we will be sending out our International EVO just in time for you to be able to enjoy the holiday spirit!
We've confirmed that there have been zero issues occurring with our latest round of testing and we will begin building units and getting the final launch prepared.
Yet now we receive an email, on Dec. 19th, stating the international distributers will sooon be supplied first, and not only that, our units won't be sent until they receive theirs. Did they mean Valentines?
I'll leave it at that. Maybe I'm just really pessimistic.
