Can anyone tell me what the Orange bottom of the filling tool is for?
You need to remove the orange bottom in order to connect it to the Mighty. Then you take off the top clear piece, remove little cup in the middle, poke some herb down the hole, replace little cup, replace clear top, remove from Mighty, and finally replace orange bottom piece. It's quick and easy to do.

After much lurking and reading of this thread I took the plunge and purchased my first ever portable, the Mighty. Upon first firing it up late afternoon it threw up the "Err 004" message a few times, which a quick glance of the instructions says indicates a faulty unit to be sent back to the manufacturer.

It being a smidge after post office closing time, I thought I might give the Mighty a bit more of a crack that night. You know, for feedback purposes. Ran 5 more bowls through it last night and the error message didn't show up again.

Sent it back this morning anyway, will see how it all pans out. This thing is a beast, and I'll miss it terribly while it's gone.

How does this vape smell when packed and kept in a backpack or jacket picket or something (Not turned on)?
So long as you ditch a spent bowl asap and clean the cooling unit when required, it doesn't smell bad. I personally think my solo stems smell stronger (but I don't clean them as often to be fair).

For me it's negligible. It's only when you get it up in your face that you can smell it. It's not anywhere near like carrying around a combustion cone piece. If it's in a jacket or backpack it would be fine!

Is the air path cut off when the mp is in the closed position? If so I assume that the smell would be virtually non-existent.
No, it is still open but folded back in. So smell will still emit from it, but as above it is negligible in my opinion. You'd have to leave a spent load in and not clean it for a fair few bowls to get some smell going.

I know what you mean, the orrange bottom cap of the filling tool. I wondered myself too!! It seemed to me like it was already sealed off, with the top cap and the clear centre cup in place (without the need for the bottom orange cap) .

So after some use, I noticed that the little clear cup and the filling tool don't form a perfect seal and it rattles around a bit (I suppose it can't be air tight or it would be a bitch to take out).
Anyway, some of the finer material works it's way through the small gap and you will notice a bit of herbs on that orange bottom cap eventually.

I use my filling tool as a herb transporter too so walking probably makes more fall through. Luckily the orange bottom cap is there, lest my pockets be lined with fine herbs. It isn't much that works it's way through but I hate waste, no matter how small.

@Stu, thanks, hours and hours of fiddling to get the filling tool on the Mighty, Lol. Seriously it did take me a minute or two and hence the question of the purpose of the bottom piece.

The thing about the Orange bottom of the filling tool is it has two slits in it so fine material can still make it through and so can smell. Just looking for that extra thing it may do since German engineering usually makes things useful. It would seem handy if the grinding tool fit onto the filling tool for ease of transfer of material but for me it is easiest to shred in grinder of choice and dump on paper to use as a funnel to transfer into the filling tool. I do like using the filling tool, I make a mess when I try to load with fingers.

I use an otter box pursuit 40 for my mighty. It fits perfect and doesn't move around at all but you can't fit much else in there. I'll post a picture of it once I'm home.

I use the 40 for my Crafty. And my Inh05. And my Haze.

The 40's provide plenty of room for goodies with all of these vapes.

I use the 20 size for my Indica, Pax and FM V.

These are a great alternative to Pelican boxes. Crushproof, waterproof and smellproof with some rubber dampening on the inside to prevent scratching the finish on your vapes.

Again I had the same thought process...

You will find that those two slits are deigned to seat the bottom of the filling tool notches (that would attach to the mighty).

However, once the filling tool is attached to the bottom orange cap, a seal is formed with the top funnel tube. After continuous use you will see only debris in a perfect circle on the bottom cap this is no coincidence. Try it out!

Yes, dat German engineering!
Every time I though I faulted the crafty... I eventually work out what they were doing...

I've found that once the filling tool is closed up... It reduced the smell a fair bit. I implore you to fill it up with the herb of your choice.. Close it... Let it sit for a while then open it up again later and smell the difference. I use my filling tool all the time for filling and transport, it's the perfect accessory.
Granted it's not the same as a smelly proof bag, but it does a pretty darn good job for a little plastic container and reduces the smell noticeably.

The top portion houses enough for 3+ decent tight bowls and a filling pad, which fits in there snuggly; almost perfectly! Dem Germans tho.

@Thcgos, you will also notice once it is attached that the upper portion of the filling tool's engaging arms are shorter then the mystery bottoms receiving groves, still a gap.

Alas I travelled 100miles today with the Orange bottom attached to the upper and my bag only smelled like half of a french whore so a cop would only half bust me and maybe only quarter bust me on Thanksgiving, lmao. I think German engineering and Chinese factories may need a few more sessions together.

Edit: I do love the filling tool! It holds a ton of material, makes loading easy once you practice...wish it wasn't see through for us non medical states. Oh yeah, 5 packed down bowls and still have a strong 4 bars of power left...the mighty is mighty! the might may not be small but it has the power to go near a full day for a heavy user on a single charge.

Double Edit:

Someone else posted earlier in here or the Crafty thread about hanging up just before the preset temp of their unit. Yes I am experiencing this as well, sometimes I will turn it on and it will never vibrate it has reached its set temp and just shut off, other times it will even achieve the set temp but never indicate it. I have found the unit responds best if it achieves its set temp so if it fails I set a temp a few degrees higher so it achieves its goal, we all like to meet our goals so maybe it's just me but when the mighty achieves its temp it seems to go into a heating pattern that keeps a tight deadband of a max of 10f drop.

Tripple edit: happy thanksgiving to all us american folk!

While scouring the Crafty thread, I read @Krizzle post where he removed the screen from the cooler and replaced it with the oil pad. After trying the finer screen, I thought this was a good idea and am trying it with the Mighty cooler.

The draw seems the same but the end results is a lighter brown compared to the dark I've been getting. I started at 190c then to 195 c then finshed at 200c. Im pretty ripped from an abv shake and decided it was enough so Ill see if i can get it darker this week. I took pictures of the end of the end result of todays sesh and the clean up is just one flake. I'm curious like the others in the Crafty thread, to see if this reduces the glaze within the cooler.

I have been so bored the past two days, I ended up buying 3 vaporizers. VAS and I stood face to face, I got a couple of good shots, but he defeated me. Bought the Mighty (for flowers), omicron lite, and a dr. Dabber (for concentrates). No more. And I'm BROKE!!!! What am I doing???

I don't think you are understanding me lol.
Have a look at the bottom of the filling tool... That circular funnel at the bottom, comes in contact with the orange bottom cap... And forms a seal... The debris sits in there.. In a perfect circle.... Fine grind your material and shake it... And you will see it will stay in the bottom in the seal that is formed between the funnel and the orange cap.

I can take a photo if required. But I know it does its function. I don't have any debris in my pocket and I have never seen it fall out elsewhere outside of this circle.... Then you can dust off the debris back into the filling chamber.

Of course the filling tool is not 100% air tight but it does cut down the smell... And why not put it in a stink sack if discretion of your utmost concern.

I see what you mean about it making a seal.

I like the novelty of the filling tool when able to have a surface to put the bottom part of the tool, the top part of the tool, the top of the Mighty/Crafty, and a surface in case any herb spillsover the side while loading, just not the stealthiest filling method. I find a smell proof container with bowl sized nugs makes for the stealthiest loading, pull nug out and put herb container away, open Mighty and dump load, place nug in and replace top, repeat. It doesn't hurt that the Mighty/Crafty does an amazing job of evenly and fully extracting nugs, lol.

Just one mans opinion, ymmv.

Hey Jedi, it looks like you use the mighty for flowers and Persei with wax or concentrates. What was your experience with concentrate on the mighty

Can anyone tell me what the Orange bottom of the filling tool is for? I am liking this tool for ground flower but more and more I am throwing nubs in and compressing slightly. The extraction is amazing no matter what I toss in. I have not used the supplied grinder but does it hook up to the filling tool for transfer?

I put abv in the bottom of the filling tool. You just need to make sure you put it in the outer ring part. Works good for me!

I haven't tried wax in the Mighty and doubt I would. When I had the Solo, I tried to vape a mixture of flower with wax and it turned out messier than I anticipated. I truly hate handling wax due to how messy it can get.

From them on, I decided to use a different device for each. The oil pad may make it a lot cleaner but I'll just use the Mighty where it really shines..

Just used the mighty for the first time and I absolutely loved it. This is the best purchase I have mad in a while. And others have said that it does not remember that you change the tempature from Celsius to Fahrenheit well mine does so I guess they fixed it.
I swear bro, ive stopped referring to it as a vape lol

it is now squarely an electronic handheld waterfree BONG. even down to the amount you need to fill it with. AMIRITE?

btw mine sometimes remembers to stay on Fahrenheit as a glitch im guessing but usually reverts to celcius most of the time. maybe yours is glitching as well?

Well I've had my mighty for about a day now, roughly 10 bowls or so into the device. its a very nice vape but I'm not sure it's worth the price tag though IMO. I performed my empty burns and I had a faint plastic smell that dissipated in a few mins. Honestly I wasn't surprised, but everything seems to be ok now.

I am enjoying this vape so do not mistake that at all. The sessions seem to last forever especially when you play with temps. This is my first vape with a lcd screen and it pretty fun to mess around with temps. Good thing for that long ass battery life. Also the flavors at low temps are very enjoyable and a surprising amount of clouds on low temps.also this guy can knock me right on my ass, I've been missing that power in my other vapes. The maintenance isn't to bad either as long as you remember to use the brush after every bowl.

I do notice a smell coming off the unit while it's packed with a fresh bowl. Not really an issue because this vape isn't suppose to be discreet, at least for my purposes. I do have a Large Smell-Safe Pack Ratz by RYOT (https://ryot.com/products/view/104), the smell is non-existent and it holds the extras pretty good, no room for herb though.

Just in case anyone was interested here are some pics.

Anyway this vape will be a Home Portable Vape for me and it's perfect for my needs. Also should make a great road trip buddy, I just hope a cop doesn't think it's a cell phone and pull me over lol i'm driving through a couple no handheld device states on my ride to work. "No Officer, I swear is not a cell phone it's my vape..." that would be an awkward conversation.

All in all if this vape can last a good amount of time I'll feel a bit more comfortable with the price. now time to get Mighty lifted, Peace.

Mine remembers Fahrenheit as well. I've also found if I set it about five degrees hotter than the temp I want, and draw before it gets to that set temp then the 1 min timer doesn't come on. Allowing for a full non interrupted session. However with the timer I like to let the vape shut itself off, hit it till light vapor then hit the power button.

This vape is as advertised. It gives you that "wow" experience for sure. Definite contender for all the heavy hitters and flavor chasers.

Does anybody else find that you don't need a full bowl and use the SS liquid pad as a spacer? Well I do and I also found it a pain in the ass to keep plucking it out of the bowl.

So I decided to poke out the screen on the cooling/MP unit and put the SS liquid pad in its place. Took a little bit of stuffing but it held surprisingly well. Also prevent debris from getting past the oven because of the pad.

It's being mentioned in the Crafty thread as well as a few posts back… ;)

Doesn't the oil pad scratch the sides of the oven the way you paced yours? It seems to be stuffed more from other members pics.. :\

Sorry I don't follow the crafty thread, and clearly im blind and missed that post lol I was unaware that was already posted.

As far as I can see there are no scratches, if anything the diameter is smaller from being stuffed in there. Once it's empty I'll check for scratchs n let you know

@tdriver i was using the finer screen but all the crap get clogged in the screen. You avoid that with the pad and you use less herb in the bowl because it acts as a spacer, the fine screen doesn't. Which is the primary reason for this mod.

mods feel free to delete post #847 sorry

Definitely a good mod that will help some people out I think. Might even do it do my Crafty to see what it's like.

And I wouldn't want your other post deleted, it's good to have the info out here again. Too easy for some good mods like that to get buried in the thread.

That just happened...
I sacrificed a cooling unit today and made my mighty into a portable "cloud". I pressure fit the glass fitting against the mighty bowl using a clamp and then jb welded around the edge so I am confident I didn't get any into the air path. Regardless it cures very clean with no odor. The result is awesome. :o Vid tomorrow.
