Not me. I'd take the Solo. Much more reliable and can get it for around half the cost!

I agree on both counts, but if I head to head them, in a single session, I would go for Ascent, price notwithstanding

My solos havent been nearly as reliable as my ascent.

Then you haven't owned the Ascent long enough  - seems like everyone on the Ascent thread has gone through at least one replacement (some are currently on their 5th or 6th unit!)

My ascent died after 1 month of heavy use - caused by rotating the oven open too many times (shorted the wires somewhere) - it's quite clear to me they didn't do enough product testing on the Ascent to determine how many times you can open/close the oven before failure of the wires.

I believe the issue was fixed with the 2AA1 release, but there are still residual complaints from people who bought an Ascent at their LHS which was most likely old-stock

In my case, Solo has been reliable and trouble free. The jury is still out on Ascent. Fingers crossed

The Arizer Solo, a vaporizer designed in 2008, is somehow still the reigning champ in the portable vaporizer realm.

We don't really know when the Solo was designed. We do know that it was released in May 2011.

Arguments over the superiority of one vapourizer over another are too subjective to provide much guidance. I own both the Solo and the Ascent. They are great devices but I consider my FlashVAPE superior to both of them, especially in flavour.

I read somewhere the Solo was designed in 2008. It had to have been some time around there or earlier, I will ask Arizer. The Crafty, Alfa, Inhalater, Firefly, Air, etc are all contenders. Whatever floats your boat.

It is very subjective. Process of elimination is the easiest method to determine which vape is for you:
- Does price mater to you?
- Portable or thin pen style? Do you want a heater with some balls (larger unit), or a smaller thin pen-style vape? Answer Yes for balls, no for thin pen.
- Stealth matter to you? Very few vapes are debadged.
- Need a user removable & replaceable battery?
- Do you care if plastic is used on the exterior of unit and/or near bowl?
- Do you want a removable glass bowl/stem, or a unit that has a built-in plastic mouthpiece?
... [Insert your personal constraint/preference here]

My answers to those questions are: Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Glass. This narrows it down to just a handful of portable vapes. If you answered: No, Yes, No, No,..., or similar, then you would be looking at a Crafty/Mighty, or other high end vapes like a MiniVap for example.

I impulse bought the Arizer Air which passes every one of those constraints, hopefully.

I would be afraid to sit on the Mighty if it was in my back pocket. It's a pretty big unit. Maybe some big coat pockets? I don't own one I've just seen the pictures that are compared to other units.

I remember that episode with George Costanza's big huge wallet.

the mighty would be in my pocket if i wanted to spend that much money on a vape again :)

but after the evo... i am pretty happy with vapes that are fraction of a price and don't feel i need to spend the extra on it, that said the mighty could be the greatest thing out there and i wouldn't know.

imo wait for initial reviews on the arizer air then make a decision

or just get an e-nano
