Help me decide on my new enail!!!

Ok guys, I have about 500 USD to spend on a dedicated enail to go on my Ryu Wilson piece (18mm male DI mini-rig but should work with most enails without a dropdown, just not the sub!).

I need something that is gonna give me perfect taste and temp every time. I am completely happy with DIY, but seriously can't be fucked with soldering so none of that please.

Now here's the kicker:

I am not interested in Ti for this purpose. I want an enail that is quartz, or ceramic or preferably one of each.

For a quartz nail, I need something like the pukinbeagle quartz, where the floor of the nail (bottom of cup where you dab) is not below the heater coil which leads to pooling of dabs. Terpz quartz nails for instance are out of the question for this reason.

For ceramic, the nail needs to sit snug and tight as a nun's proverbial.

So with all this out of the way - help me find an enail! Cheers!

EDIT: Also, is there good reason to go for a jointed quartz nail over a direct inject nail for the enail rig? Dnail are out of stock on all of their female jointed quartz :/

That one does look interesting! The quartz nails especially look good, would not pool methinks! I may end up buying one of those.

I am just about to pull the trigger on a DIY dnail with pukinbeagle 20mm direct inject quartz nail and matching pukinbeagle quartz carb unless anyone can give me a reason to stay away from direct inject nails in quartz on an enail? Cheap as fuck express shipping to Sydney means I'll be pretty close to within budget and receive my enail in a week or less

Save some money, I believe these units use the same XLR pinout as the d-nail units. But if not d-nail says "We do not know the pin configuration of every vaporizer on the market, but are familiar with several - in some cases we can even wire a heater specfically for your device." and auber has the xlr pin assignment in the pdf manual. Their supplied coils are 16mm, not 20mm.

If you want to go the budget route, the 710 whip works very well- as good or better than several $500+ enails I've tried.

The build quality is obviously not on par with nicer units, but from anecdotal experience, it should prove quite reliable. My friend bought one about a month ago and has left it on 24/7 and it's still going strong.

I checked out the 710whip actually when I was looking into the ceramic domeless nail which domeless.com sell. I may pick up a flat coil and grab one of those yet thanks to @Caligula reppin' these. Still, if I wanted a vape like that I'd buy a coil and use my own dimmer

A friend of mine put a direct inject style ceramic nail in some glass which has a bit of water bounce back in the down-stem as you stop drawing. Eventually someone stopped hitting it while tilting it forward, the end result was the nail got water quenched from below and cracked, luckily not a explosive one.

So my take away / advice is this: only consider getting a direct inject nail if your glass has 0 chance of getting the nail wet or toss it on a re-claimer or slide to proctect it from getting wet.

Other than that direct inject seems fine (tho have no experience with them in an e-nail)

I don't think DI would work that great for an enail. Enails add some significant weight, which isn't really laterally supported unless the nail is jointed.

As for the pukinbeagle nails, their prices seem insane. The "Quartz Direct Inject w/ Joints" needs to be half that price to be even remotely competitive.

Dude, the pukinbeagle are also some of the only jointed quartz enails I've found that have the floor of the nail sitting in the middle so as to not have the issue with pooling oil below the part of the nail where the coil wraps around (aside from the Michigan Nail quartz nail, made by Vigil Glass).

Please point me in the direction of something better though!

I haven't noticed any pooling in the Quartz insert on my Errlectric Enail. I have family around so I can't make videos yet. The Ti nail is pressed in to the coil and the bottom of the Ti nail is well within the coil. The Quartz insert IMO is a great idea because it leaves the option open for inserts made from different materials. The bottom of the insert is above the coil. It definitely gets hot enough and has enough mass to withstand air draw and the dab temperature differential. It gets hot enough to cook itself clean.

I ended up opting for the DIY D-nail with DI pukinbeagle quartz 20mm nail (direct inject on this nail is actually very balanced laterally, it is essentially a tapered QonG joint with a recessed downstem underneath for counterweighting) and matching pukinbeagle carb cap. This is a big plus to me, because the nail stays close to the piece and there are no adapters so nothing is precarious/clumsy. My piece never gets water on the nail unless you were to blow hard into the mouthpiece (and every other piece will do the same no matter how big lol). I am actually quite confident that this setup will balance really well on top of my Ryu Wilson mini rig and so long as I secure the cable to the table, there's no chance of toppling pieces with this setup unless I knock the table over or something lol

I know the Pukinbeagle nails are expensive as fuck. I also know that they are much cheaper when bought with the D-nail (it is $50 cheaper when bought with a controller - $120 for a quartz nail that I know won't pool and give sub par performance is worth it when shipping is $50+ USD every time!). I know pukinbeagle carb caps are expensive as fuck too, I also know that to order another decent boro carb somewhere else plus shipping will cost way more than to throw another $60 at dnail for the pukinbeagle carb. Besides, this one is guaranteed to fit my nail well and sits on top without being held!

I also figured the D-nail is the most well known brand and this means that there is more chance of me finding ceramic nails and other third party nails that fit well with their heaters, also price was pretty good in the end!

Now to find a portable that is worth using for my needs when out and about for flowers. I need something small that heats up quickly, can extract fully and quickly in one hit preferably, cannot accidentally combust and has good temp control as well as amazing taste and readily connects to glass. Haha this is a tall order for portables I know, especially when I will accept NO PLASTIC in the airpath lol

I haven't tried the Sub, sadly. The Nano is definitely on my radar.
I'm not sure that particular kind of perfect exists, but I like the Solo so much that I have 2 of them. But there is some plastic in there somewhere. But the flavor is great. That is a subject for another thread.

Man I cant wait to dab on my new quartz without a torch!
