Just spoke to Greenvapes in the UK who said they will offer a 1 year warranty which then gets transferred to the manufacturer, who apparently DO honour warranties outside the UK, they just don't ship so you'll have to cover the costs. I don't think knowing me I'll have this vape for more than a year to be honest, I'll end up getting bored and selling it for something new so just need to be covered completely for the first year.

There you go, Mate! I,too, am ruff on my stuff, so a year is long enuf.

By that time, your VAS should kick in, or there will be a plethora of new Vapes to salivate over.

You can light up Snowdonia peak with your FF, or go the length of the Grand Union Canal with your FF, and not worry.

The warranty is for issues in the cxtry of the FF, however, sounds like it needs tweaking.

Well I guess theres no way for me to get the 5 year warranty then as I am in the UK, as no UK supplier provides longer than a year and Firefly won't honour it outside the USA.

I'm satisfied with the one year, but just confused about the actual vape itself. Will it meet my needs? I know taste is the best there is out there, and I'm willing to sacrifice the battery of the Solo if this leaks less odour meaning I can use it in my room so no need to worry about charging. I can take the Solo out with me when I need it for longer sessions. Main concerns are smell and maintenance. Will I be ok with those on the Firefly?

Smoke buddy wouldn't help with odour leakage from the actual unit though. I can always just blow out of the window but I was wondering how different is the FF to other vapes. For example solo leaks a lot less than ascent

FF throws zero odor, except when you open the lid. Unlike the Solo, it generates pretty much zero vapor via conduction, so you only produce vapor when you draw while holding the heat button. It's really pretty much odorless when you keep the lid closed even when in use.

Thanks a lot. That's very reassuring to hear. The green vapes site is offering a 10 percent discount. I'm thinking of taking the plunge as apparently address from the rep on chat I can just clean it and send it back if I don't like it. I don't know how much truth is in that but hopefully I won't need to consider sensing it back.

How many hits are you getting from the battery?

Hard to say but I usually only get one full bowl per full charge. But I pack large, dense bowls...I probably get about 25ish very long hits per battery. Something like that.

So about 25, 20 second hits?

I think that should be fine. I was baked after a 10 hit session on the solo so technically should get 2 of those. And if this vape is good with keeping the smell inside more than the solo then this is a bedroom vape where battery isn't an issue.

I don't know if someone vapes incredible amounts but in my case I throw some bud fragments finger broken-up in the bowl, maybe 1/3 full. Shake and tap on palm to stir. Get great taste and vapor. No leakage and no smell. Keep a little resin and fragments in the porthole rim to act as catcher. Battery handles two such loads. I have 3 batteries.

Solo offers longer battery life and more precise temp control, but no question Firefly gives off less odor abd is more stealthy - people don't know what it is. Solo looks threatening, like ordnance. I think Crafty and Mighty might have same issue. Firefly looks like expensive accessory of some sort.

Yeah somewhere in there. Maybe 20 but more than enough for a full effect. You should be fine...but the battery life is definitely the Achiiles' heel of the FF.

That's interesting. I never thought of that. I always think the Solo has a grungy smoker accessory vibe thanks to the (usually gross-looking) glass stem. The FF reads almost like a retro-cell phone to some, but it also could look a little pipe-like. For sure though, next to the Solo, it's pure elegance.

1/3 of the bowl meaning less than 0.1g? Two sessions with those, but how long/how many hits approx do your sessions last?

So you'd say it smells less than the Solo? Have you used the Ascent?

I definitely agree on the stealth part, Theres no point having a small portable device like the Ascent which people can't see but which leaks out so much odour that you give it all away anyway.

FF looks like a blown up MP3 player of some sort but I love the fact that its weighty, some may see it as a drawback but I think it will make it feel premium and hefty.

Ideally I'd like to have three batteries but its a bummer how pricey they are in the UK, around £30 plus £9 postage, thats around $50 I think and $15 shipping. Insane. I think I'll get one extra for sure though. Going to hold out on the extra battery though until I'm sure I like this vape. Tempted to order it today so its shipped same day. PS4 or FF, Hmmmm

Ascent reeks, Solos ok. Firefly is minimal, any on demand vape will smell less than a session vape. Battery is pretty poor, but if you have two to swap out its ok, quick 45min charge time. Even better if you have other vapes...

@Gee_Grover, you may want to hold your horses. It is possible that FF II may soon be flitting over our VAS.

A flurry of new, and improved models may come out with a new year. Just after you receive your "new" FF.

Isn't life funny, sometimes...

No doubt about that for sure. I'd really like to see what Arizer's next portable will be. But I guess if I waited for the next big thing, I'd always be waiting. If the FF has the least smell of any current vape right now then its the best I can get for discreet bedroom vaping. If a better vape comes out, I'll either just save up or sell the FF :). Damn you VAS!

Has anyone ever bought a vape, used it and returned it? I somehow don't believe the guy on Greenvapes chat help who told me I could just clean it up and send it back if I dont like it. I got him to email me the transcript of the chat so I guess that should be a good back up? I've entered my card details, close to taking the plunge and pressing Submit.

So I spoke to the Greenvapes rep again and complained about being misinformed about VapeWorld dealing with warranty issues after 1 year and asked for a better deal as I'm losing out on 80% of the warranty. After trying to repeat his point about VW honouring the warranty, he finally agreed to give me a 5 year warranty through themselves, so I'll be sending the unit in to them and they'll arrange a replacement with VW. And I got a 10% off code on their site bringing the total to £175. On top of that, the so called 14 day use and clean return policy(taking that with a pinch of salt), but I couldn't resist so took the plunge. Hopefully it'll be here soon. Now the killer wait!

I can attest to the no smell from the FF. I haven't tried the other vapes in question, but so far I have not had any smell from the FF. I've had people walk in a room immediately after I've had a session and they don't detect a thing.

I too love the weighty feel of the FF, and wouldn't have it any other way. To me it feels solid, well made, substantial in my hand. Love it!!

Loving the positive comments that are proving the reviews and my research right, pretty glad I pulled the trigger. How is this vape to maintain? Do I have to clean it after every session?

Initially I used to clean it every few sessions, first brushing followed by q-tip w/alcohol on on the lid. I probably did it a lot more than necessary because I just wanted to be holding/touching the FF. :)

These days I find that a good brushing with the supplied brush tool does a very decent job of keeping the bowl clear and the glass clean. Pretty simple really. You won't be disappointed.

Well, you can just about set your clock on it...my Red FF, replaced in August, died last night in the same manner my last Silver died. Green light flashes, battery is fine, no glow, no heat, nothing. This one lasted 100 days.

That's seven FFs in 10.5 months that have died or had fatal issues. Longest I've gotten out of a unit so far is five months.

I feel like I'm leasing these things rather than buying them. The 5 year warranty seems to imply the FF folks have serious confidence in the build and reliability of the device. I wonder if they are beginning to regret that warranty.

Wow, thats some crazy rate of faulty units. Makes me glad I pushed for extended warranty, not that I'll be keeping it longer than about six months but good to know its there. Apparently the new units have an improved battery which gives more sessions? I don't know if thats just a rumour though.

I have had some really really bad luck. Plenty FCers have had their FF since December or January with no issues. They said they are sending me a new one from "the latest batch" so fingers crossed. Good news is the service is amazing, so I'm still a happy customer, albeit one who has used a lot of packing tape recently.

Recent batteries have seemed the same to me, about 20-25 hits on a full charge.
