Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

Great Scott!
Sorry, I did not intend to make the battery pack option a bad thing. I agree that optional extras are great! Kudos to Storz & Bickel for identifying the need and offering the power bank option so quickly. I'm still wavering between the the Crafty and Mighty so the power bank option is giving the Crafty a bit of an edge for me, even though it will be my only vape with much use at home. Thinking that I will rarely be far from an electrical outlet at home so don't need the extra battery power except when traveling.

Cheers

No worries!

If you are going to be using it mainly at home my only real question to you would be, how stealthy do you need to be while away?

I love my crafty, but if I was going to use it around the house mostly, I'd have gotten the mighty. Because I vape ~90% oil at home and ~90% flower on the go, the crafty makes the most sense to me, but the mighty is still something I think about. Honestly I'd love to have both, but I can't afford that. The crafty with a powerbank lasts a long time, but the mighty is more portable if you think you will need to use the powerbank more often than not.

On a rare day I might need to recharge it on the go without having access to my house or a car etc. That is what the power pack is for with me, rare days. If it was going to be a common occurrence I'd rather have the mighty.

Black is a color . . . ;)

Actually just being a dick here, but its the absence of all color that we see as black. :p

I remember hearing that as a kid so I had to ask google. Its not often I get to correct you buddy haha. Had to take my chance since it was OH so important.

Then how come you have to mix all colors together to make black? Can you mix white? :p (this is a red herring)

I think its all colors make white, and no colors make black. My head hurts.

On topic of the crafty, does using it while plugged in make the battery life longer compared to say using it and then plugging it in immediately after? I mean of course it'll be X minutes less charge time total with X being the length of your sessions where it is unplugged. I'm wondering if I can keep getting 90% of the battery life and still live in my semi-irrational fear of using it while plugged in lol. I really prefer not to. Not that I don't trust it'll work, but charging adds heat as does using this vape. Batteries prefer less heat in general. I just don't want to be without my crafty again, because honestly if it breaks and has to get replaced under warranty...I'm busting out the oil pen. Nothing else really seems to satisfy me anymore as far as portables go.

This is the exact one I picked up a couple of weeks ago from Amazon. Works very well so far, and yeah, it' matches the Crafty nicely. I also picked up this cable that was recommended by Amazon during checkout.

They won't ship these to Canada (neither Power Pack nor cable)

Thanks for the valuable input, darkrom. Because much of my vaping will be at home I originally thought the Mighty would be the best choice. But, upon additional pondering, I wonder why the Mighty would make a better home unit? I can plug in a Crafty anytime and keep the battery always charged and ready to go. Same quality vapor, plus I can still have the stealth factor when out and about. I don't think the display is important to me as the simplicity of pre-set temps sounds good. I also like the fact that the Crafty will stand up and uses the USB charging. Still, for some reason I keep thinking I should get the Mighty. I want both models as well....

Saw this in action yesterday at Amnesia. Love finding fellow fcers in the wild. Check out the vhx that's my standalone of choice.

What intrigued me most about the crafty was the app you had shown. Are you finding battery life an issue?

I have the Crafty and I love it. By far the best portable vape but recharging it all the time will probably get annoying if it's your daily driver. I don't regret going with the Crafty but I also wish I could get both. Storz & Bickel really made it a dilemma lol

You saw Me and my Crafty at Amnesia?? or someone else using the Crafty lol I am NOT finding battery life an issue at all :D I do have a power bank with me if i need it. This vape is getting quite a workout in A'dam, since my friends are hardly combusting at all and just using my vape. I was going to try a verdamper (sp) but i just can't , the Crafty is working well with all the flowers, hash and isolater i'm putting in it and it's just the smoothest vapor for my lungs

I just thought I'd throw this out there... I see a lot of you are getting external batteries / power banks for the Crafty. I also just bought one. A feature that I wanted was 'pass through charging' or 'charge-through' capability. This means that you can charge both the battery and any of the devices attached to it simultaneously with one AC adapter. It will auto-sense the voltage for each and apply the correct current. This allows me to only use one outlet to charge the Crafty, the external battery and a smart phone simultaneously. It also reduces the amount of AC adapters I need to carry with me when traveling. Unfortunately, most external batteries don't support this. I was able to find one that does made by Zendure. I'll let you know how it goes since I'll be relying on it and the Crafty when camping this coming weekend.

Best Buy sells one called "mycharge" brand. I got that in 6000 mah form. Has passthrough and chooses the right charging speeds for the device. Up to 2.4 amps. $40 or so and a smaller form factor than any other I've seen by simply being slightly thicker, but not the size of a phone.

Does anyone ever get a white pop-up that says ok in the crafty app? Does it mean it's overheating?

I also get this whist charging and vaping.

Usually on the 3rd bowl.

And my Crafty won't charge for 3 or 4 mins.

I think its overheating but I'm not certain.

Never seen this in my life...and I still refuse to charge and vape after it breaking my 6 hours of use crafty the FIRST time I did it lol.

High drain devices seem to always have issues with charging while in use IMO.

I didn't notice the 'ok' message until a few nights ago. Did they cover all the cost of repair/replacment?

It says you can charge and use the thing in the manual.

And all my shits legit.

Care to elaborate? I want it to replace my desktop unit and run while charging all the time.

For my one example of it going bad, there are probably 40+ examples of it going right, I just don't think it is worth gambling it having anymore downtime.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Wrote to S&B in Oakland about the power bank shown in the video.

They repllied: "The Power Bank is not available in America yet - please check the website in the coming weeks for availability."
