Me too smknbud! Though mines should arrive first I'd have thought. Decarb ring on its way to me too! Exciting times.

The euro site has changed what it said on the description of the glass adaptor.. I'm not crazy! I swear.. It mentioned the o ring screens alongside The adaptor. Now it doesn't.

This is from my order confirmation email.
Item Sku Qty Subtotal
MV O-ring Filter Discs Kit
MV.ADAPTER14MM 1 €6.90
MV Filter Discs Kit MV.Filters.Kit 1 €3.90
MV Decarboxylation Kit MV.Decarbox.Kit 1 €39.00
MV O-ring Filter Discs Kit MV.O-ring.Filters.Kit 1 €6.90

See! The names have changed.. As has the price. Now the adaptor is 8.90euros and it has no mention of the o ring.
Whereas it was called the MV o ring filter disc kit. Mv adaptor.
It's not visible now but it did mention about using it with the o rings. Odd.

I best check with em incase they mess up and don't send me the adaptor.
Yup.....I kinda knew they priced them wrong. The glass adapter is now a little more than double the price it was this morning and the o-rings doubled in price. Honestly, I still think the glass adapter will go up in price even more.

Happy I got my order in when I did.....I'm pretty confident we'll get what we ordered. Mine is already at the Spain sorting facility, so I'll find out in 7-10 days for me.

I ordered the O-rings and Glass adapter. They are priced so differently than the rest of the stuff they have jacked up price wise, I almost feel like they are priced wrong, so now looks like the time to do it. I guess if I figure in the $18 I got charged to ship from Europe to USA the price is right in line with the overpriced point I just made in the last sentence.

Details for Adapter

Materials: 100% borosilicate Glass
Standard 14mm male to flexicone/flexicone+ 8mm.

So, the Flexicone+ slips over the nipple of the glass piece and the Flexicone goes inside the 8mm nipple?????
I still don't think this is the ideal design depending on your usage ... for outdoor/standing around usage, I like to use a hydratube (either VXL or my Zapubbler ... PV f-Bomb would work great as well)

In this scenario, it would be better if the adapter was built into the top (so the entire flexicone assembly doesn't lift out when you try to lift the tube) ... as it is ... if one attaches the adapter directly to the flexicone for hydratube usage, it is difficult to hold the assembly down as one lifts off the tube to clear the chamber. If it was attached to the flexicone through the top this will get complicated while standing and trying to swap cones (for example ... my typical usage scenario is I will walk outside with a pre-heated MiniVAP and 2 pre-loaded flexicones ... than quickly cache both cones in maybe 4-8 hits total) ... if the top isn't holding the assembly and adapter down ...then the connection between the tube and the flexicone has to be easily separable with no chance whatsoever of sticking (why it works well with the 14mm GonG connection applying pressure directly to the flexicone.)

... anyways ... kinda' rambling ... but I wish there were 3 tops:
1. Regular top
2. Top w/ 14mm GonG connection
3. Top w/ 18mm GonG connection

That would be awesome!

@EAG1E4

Vapornation acknowledged my return and their standard 72hrs to let me know the outcome.....replacement is the only answer I'll accept btw.

Can i ask, how long did it take them to get back to you after they received your unit? Mine was accepted last tuesday, and no word from them yet.

I calculated that with shipping for the return going both ways on my own dime, it will basically invalidate the discount I originally got (%15 percent).

So frustrated with this situation, and not having good feelings about VaporNation at the moment. Still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt in my mind, but it's getting harder...

@kimura , I use 90% ISO & table salt as an abrasive. Works Awesome, I don't let them get too dirty otherwise they seem to stay stained, in my experience. Been cleaning all my tools this way for years, glass, silicone, metal. Got the recipe from my LHS way back when I used to buy cleaner. Hope this helps ya

This might seem like a strange question but who does not have an o-ring seal on their cone where it goes through the hole in the lid? This does not apply to the flex-cone+.

I'm unsure what you mean sorry.

My miniVap will leak air through the hole in the lid where the portion of the flex cone goes through it that a hose would connect. Mine came with a silicone o-ring around that portion on the flex cone to seal it to the lid. I received a new flex cone and lid and this came with no silicone o-ring. I have sent numerous emails to the miniVap folks and it seems they do not know what I am referring to. So I thought I would ask you folks what you received.

I have seen several new miniVAPs and none had such a seal. It's very odd that yours had one, was it an early unit/ how long have you had it?
IMO, no such seal is needed. The Flexicone/basket module fits into the cover with the flexicone nipple protruding thru the cover. When you screw on the cover, it pushes the flexicone base into the top lip of the heating chamber. That forms a sealed air pathway: air enters at the base of the top section, flows thru and is heated, flows into the heating chamber/ basket module, and exits thru the top of the flexicone, into the hard mouthpiece or a whip-----it's a closed pathway.

The only place for leak is IF you have the bare flexicone nipple exiting thru the cover and you suck on that piece, then you'd draw air thru the flexicone AND around the side of the flexicone/ around the outside
of the nippple. But that's not how you use it. The nipple is connected to a mouthpiece or whip.

Not sure how your could leak is connected properly....

I was the first one in this forum to buy one so mine is the oldest of anyone here. Shortly after I bought one Rodger bought his but from a different vendor I am pretty sure.

In my opinion you are wrong Sir. The material the flex cone (not flex cone+) is made is of is no where near flexible enough to seal it to the lid. Air will leak under a load (vacuum), in mine, as I hit it. The newer ones I am not sure of, I have not seen one. But they do not look too different. Rodger, what is your opinion?

It doesn't seal the flexicone plus to the lid, it seals the flexicone plus to the heating chamber so the pathway is sealed from the base (air intake) to where it exits the flexicone nipple !
There is a gap on the outside of the flexicone/nipple but it's irrelevant as the vapor pathway is sealed:
air intake, heating chamber, wire basket, lower lip of flexicone pressed against top lip of heating chamber, flows out the flexicone nipple, into the mouthpiece or whip.

Another way to show this: you can remove the lid altogether and place the flexicone basket module into the heating chamber and attach the hard mouthpiece. With a little downward pressure on the flexicone, to simulate the cover pressing it down, the unit works without the cover as that internal airpath described above is intact. The flexicone does not to seal externally to the lid.

I know Roger also has had a number of issues with his unit(s).. He may not even have the same minis as way back then.

Give us an image to work with Lostclusters.. Hasn't the flexicone evolved since then..

I sent the package with tracking info.. I'd say the day after it arrived I got an acknowledgement email with the 72 hr info. Got an email stating my replacement was approved. Got another email saying that black wasn't available but gold and silver were. My UPS Choice notified me of the tracking info. Replacement set to arrive this Friday.

I made it myself, I also made other accessories that I haven't shown here, but I will in its due time, I just have been really busy at work and home.

I'm kicking myself for not quickly purchasing the one you had listed in the classified section. God I'm a dumn ass for that. If you make another, PM me and I'll be smart next time.

The nipple end of the glass adapter is 8mm which I believe is the width of the cap opening. My interpretation, hopefully correct, is that it will attach to the regular flexicone like the MV mouthpiece does.

My hope is that they put as much thought into this as all the other accessories.

My package is at home waiting. Wee test tonight for sure!

Bummer! The adaptor doesn't fit the normal flexicones.. Seems like it's made to use with the flexi +.. The narrow part of the glass is to slim to fit one inside.
I did however find a way though it may change the airpath a bit creating a hot zone.
Pictures in a bit.

The glass adaptor doesn't fit snugly into the lid hole. It has lots of wobble and no seal.
I ended up breaking a brand spanking flexicone whilst trying to fit the nipple over the protruding glass.
It works but as you see the glass comes very close to where the screen will sit. This could potentially draw air through the device in a narrower hot spotty kinda way.
Even with the stripped down flexicone, when I place my basket module.. In my case the arizer capped one.. Into the flexi and close the lid there is some resistance to tighten but ends in a real tight seal inside.

Edit.. The proximity of the glass to the screen didn't appear to have any discernable effect on the cashing of the load.
On a separate note the o rings screens are really nice. Even with the arizer cap set up @kimura.. First I thought with there now being three rims housed in the flexicone there'd be a seal issue.. There isn't.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned trying to create a similar screen retention ring way earlier in the thread, by stripping an arizer basket of said basket and having the remaining naked rim as the retention ring. So flexi, normal screen, naked rim, basket. It didn't work too great as the screen were still flimsy behind the ring. The o rings solve this.

@Kommyknocker - that's too bad about the 14mm adapter. Thanks for taking one for the team and reporting your findings. I may look into the screens with o-rings but I'm not sure I see the need for additional screens when I use the arizer basket as a lid for the large basket (which is my currently preferred method)

Here's what I've been doing lately for use with bubblers and hydratubes:

p90tSHO.jpg

That's just a cut down flexicone+ with a random 14mm adapter. I'm sure it's not an original solution but I like it for when I want to keep the lid on

:hmm: wtf. So much for my hoping how this would work with the normal flexicone.....hell, it doesn't for the most part. Now I know why they were going for under $5 originally.

I'm curious enough to know why they said it works with the normal flexicone that I'm going to send Hermes an email asking for instruction for shits and giggles.

I received information today that sheds a whole new light on this issue. I owe @MinnBobber an apology of sorts. You are not wrong, even in my opinion :) Apparently the flexcone can seal the lid, if it were made longer than mine. This is the info I received from miniVAP:

"The O-ring was used 2 years ago in order, as you said, to provide a better fitting/sealing out of the loading chamber.

The length of the cone was increased to stop using the O-ring, now it seals properly by their own.

Anything else you need, just let me know.

Best regards,"

On a different note, there are some wild contraptions being MacGyvered in here! All of them look useful.

The Arizer elbow glass fits more flush in the lid hole.
YMfkEXY.jpg

Here's one I broke
2ZJRBBs.jpg

And finally this one shows how little the elbow glass protrudes. Of course these are being shown with no flexicone set in place. That'd take a wee bit tinkering.. And I run outta time before work.
IjIps6R.jpg

The flexicone doesn't fit into the elbows narrow end either.
