Discontinued Haze Dual V3

Vapriot, Traveler & Vaporizer/ing lover!
it's been a good first couple of days though. I really like the experience it produces in terms of vapor for a pocket vape on three and four. ABV is done after that. From what I can say so far is that I will personally prefer the Haze to the PAX because of the mouthpiece draw and vapor taste. It produces big, tasty clouds with no burning on lips or tongue. I like that.
My only real gripe so far would be the usability convenience of the conduction screen. When loading the chamber, some herb crumbs are just bound to fall behind the screen and end up in either the vapor path or the hot air path. It would be great if some sort of conduction-can could be implemented. That would make this little bakery pass-out-drunk convenient!
Of course, more temperatures and a solution for the mouthpiece stickiness would be greatly appreciated.

I am happy to hear you had a good experience with your Haze so far. You will be reunited again soon.

Speaking of mouthpieces, I just managed to break my glass mouthpiece and misplace my Haze Scoop/Tweezers. So now instead of more cans and batteries for my next order it looks like I have some extra replacing to do also. Oh well, Life would not be as interesting without its follies and such.

Your idea of a conduction can is interesting. It would be better if the conduction screens were a bit larger or at least allowing for a little more height/length on the screens at the front and the back. I say this for two reasons. First, The added length will cover the air path intake opening better. Second, it will make the screen more accessible to pull out of the oven chamber.

I broke my glass mouthpiece when it was too gunked up. tried to get it out with a headphone jack and it snapped. I only use the stainless steel one and it works great, I dont even remember how the glass one tasted i just remember it was harder to get out of the unit.

I think the glass taste is far better than the metal but that is just me. I also feel I can gauge my draws/inhalations far better with the glass for some reason.
It has been 2 days now or strait metal mouthpiece use and I am not enjoying it as much. I also noticed that the metal mouthpiece almost falls back into the air path and does so pretty easily with a little bump when extended. The glass piece seems to be far better mated to the o-ring, it is way tighter and makes a better seal too.

In the future I plan on pulling the glass out right away after I'm done vaporizing that way I will not have to break it trying to remove it from the Haze.

I also broke my glass and cracked my wood MP . I also don't store my MP in the unit now. I had to hide it quick n pushed the wood MP in. I now keep an extra q-tip in my case with the haze. Make sure it fits tight in the MP nd u can just pull it out. If you want to keep storing it in there. Haze is currently in the process of solving this problem permanently. I don't have specifics but I believe you will be able to send in your current unit for an upgrade. But don't quote me on that lol.

Super good news to hear on the sticking issue, sorry to hear about your wood MP. I as well have a good lead (wink wink ) at Haze but I don't press them to much as they want to keep things under wraps for the most part. I hear in the next few weeks Haze should be sending out some new goodies to the beta crew for testing and feedback, sweet! All in all it looks like some cool new products are headed our way in the near future. My guess is just in time for the new year. Cheers!

So here is my experience so far with haze as a company. As you all have read I had a little trouble with off gassing.

@llamaman001 did Haze ever get back to you with the off-gassing issues/test findings? I ask for one I am curious to know what they found out and second I may need to chat with you on the sidelines about your experience with it. Thanks.

I find my pax collecting more n more dust lately also because of my haze. I'm working in MD now so each weekend I have a 6+ hr ride and my haze it the perfect passenger. I can SAFELY change cans and batteries all with one hand. I go through 14 cans and 3 batteries (I don't like to drain them all the way) with ease. I love this machine!

i just spent 250.00 + on one, plus accessories, so the unusable unit without the mouthpiece, is extremely disturbing. i sure hope they have a fix in the pipeline for everyone, not just beta testers.

After the lengthy and wasteful of raw wax learning curve, it is an awesome unit.

But, the mouthpiece sticking from resin in the bottom, and having to keep the mouthpiece separate, is a really big issue for me.

There are MULTIPLE other major quirks.

1. Cannot turn unit off without closing draw tube area. In the middle of a session, i have to turn the heat to 1 light, to pause, without complete shutdown and disassembly ( draw tube gets stuck).

solution= needs one more push option on the button, to off.

2. Battery compartment opens unexpectedly.

3. Draw area opens unexpectedly.

4. Carts are clumsy and look fragile after months of use. lots of parts to loose.

5. Already broke one draw tube from being stuck and removing.

6. multiple issues with draw tube being stick aft we cleaning and then only one session makes it stuck again.

7. unit gets really hot to touch with oil, draw stays cool.

8. can see a red wire inside unit from the cart area. Very surprising as the rest of the machine looks "Ferrari" perfect.

9. Leaks oil. unless u use the smallest amount, it leaks and wastes. the cotton is good for thicker wax, but oil just bubbles out if the machine is tipped sideways.

10.......the fact that i had to write all this........

An almost 300 purchase.....i would have hoped it was not so half baked being able to buy it and looking so slick.

Hi,

Everything you listed here points out our original V1 release. We have done further improvements to the V1 and the new V2 has already addressed most of these. If you send me a PM with your purchase details, I can get your unit upgraded to the V2 at no cost. Thank you.

I am unable to put a finger on what it is you mean by "have a fix in the pipeline for everyone" I am curious? Also about your lengthy and wasteful learning curve and oil spillage...... as I never had one problem. I even tried just Kief in the Haze tonight just a tiny bit and it lasted 8 good draws......once again I was extremely surprised and happy.

Did you read the directions? I ask because I believe it states someplace to hold the Haze horizontal for oils/concentrates and to use temperature setting 4. Problems solved. ;)

Haze is working on everything for you, i know it can be frustrating but they will get you all taken care of. I had one issue with mine and no questions asked they got a new Haze out to me. In fact I still need to update the registration numbers.

@Haze Vaporizers even if they are not the same as my original units numbers will that mess up my warranty? I ask because what if let's say another unit has issues or something happens.....how do you keep track? Does the 10 year warranty start from the date the replacement is received?

I think my first one may have even been a version 1 or 1.2 because I could see the red wire too. Now for your list of quirks. 1. Sure turning the Haze off would be nice but this got me thinking. Most warm ups use more power or battery draw to get up to operating temperature versus using less when it hits the desired temp. and thus just cycles now and again to maintain it's heat levels. If you take your draws slow enough and train your eyes on the l.e.d.'s you can feel the unit pulse along with a light fluctuation in brightness on the l.e.d.'s as the Haze maintains it temperatures. I do also planning on getting a couple of thermometers and running a few temperature tests on my newest Haze.

2. The newer battery door has a much better bite to it now with or without the battery in. Although I could see no real changes to it myself it did snug up much better.

3. First time I have heard of the On/Off latch flipping open. If anything mine just got more stiff after more and more use.

4. What parts are loose? The cans work great but are in no way fragile when used normally. Sure they may start to look used but with what we all use them for that will happen. Just like almost anything that sees oils/flowers/heating/concentrates/cooling.

5. The MP breakage is our faults sticky or not. I say this because mine broke because I got impatient with it while trying to get it out and did not keep up on cleaning the unit.

6.When you say cleaning, are you just cleaning the MP or are you also cleaning the draw chamber and o-ring as well? I am able to use 12 cans, clean and go back to vaporizing without having the instant sticking you are speaking about.

7.The Haze just seems to get hot in around the intake areas but if you hold it where the Haze logo is located, you know the solid part on the unit, it does not hardly change temperature and this is on level 4 sessions the whole time while running 4 batteries back to back.

9. The cotton pads are for e-liquid and of that the thinner of the solutions.

Sometimes when products are shipped out defects make it through the cracks or even after inspection things fail. It just happens sometimes but I believe in no way that these things are indicative of a bad product. Especially with such a new and growing company, one with some of the best customer service and communication in the industry I might add. Just keep in contact with Haze and all will be well in the end.

Thanks for your lengthy responses. Sounds like you work for them!!!

Disclaimer....I REALLY wanted/want this to be the end all be all of handheld units for both oil/wax and flower. Many people are looking at this unit as the messiah too. I was a Magic Flight guy, moved to the O-Pen because I live in Colorado and the oil pens are the easiest and stealthily things in the world. I am a wine sommelier for some private companies and my taste is jaded towards only the best, so I wanted to get back into vaping flower and wax. The battery is awesome, lasts a long time and the design looks great are my two positives.

Most reviews bury the issues. I never read one problem like I experienced with my list of 9...now 10 ( *see below).

No portable unit should leak anything, anywhere. Issues of leakage and having to hold it at any particular angle, makes it 100% less portable. While the cotton wicks help and I have learned to put in quite a bit less product, it is still wonky to have it leak and waste material and have to clean the unit so often.

Mouthpiece being stuck is hardly my fault, and to get it out, all I had on hand were the tweezers, which chipped and destroyed the glass. This was after one session with some nug run Raw Wax.

Carts seem to be REALLY well engineered, but just not finished. Some sort of hinge or locking top would make them almost perfect. Lots of parts to lose for sure.

*Also complaint number 10, the carts have some kind of metal junction attached to the unit above the 2 carts, that also fell off multiple times. It was a real pain to get it back on.

The unit getting hot was a plus yesterday at 11,000 feet in 8F during a whiteout blizzard.....but I worry during the summer and when I travel.

I will update when Haze gets back to me, and when I receive an updated unit. * fingers crossed*

Most of the things you mentioned have been mentioned already. The instructional video tells you to make sure to use small amounts of concentrates. If u put liquid or wax that turns to a liquid IMO it's common sense to hold it flat, that goes for any vape. As far as the heat goes... hold it in the designated spot nd it won't get hot lol i.e not over the oven. Also what are u talking about with the "carts"? Are u refering to the oven lids? If so that was also mentioned in this thread and a very detailed description on how to put it back on. If I'm not mistaken I think it was @Vape Dr. I'd sugest doing a bit of reading to get familiar with this unit and others experiences and tips with the haze.

This is a great vape but it's one of the first to try to handle flowers/wax/oils so I doubt it will be the "end all be all" of vapes. They're sure on the right track IMO.

Every vape requires cleaning/maintenance and so does Haze but our goal is to improve the necessity frequency for better user experience. The performance perfection has been our number one goal and the most time sensitive one so that's why the V2 addressed performance upgrades. We will soon announce our new temp settings as well. Thank you all for your positive feedback.

I just wanted to say that, I personally like the fact that performance comes first and also that new temp settings are coming soon.

Nearly all of his complaints were addressed in this thread previously and the Haze team has done a great job taking the feedback and making it better.

No device is perfect and I never heard Haze or anyone else claim it to be.

I too would like to see some of these issues addressed but it's easy to say you want to fix it and it's much different to come up with a solution. Especially one that can be implemented quickly and in a cost effective manner on an existing product. There are other manufacturers that could learn a thing or two from what Haze is doing!

I think the issue is that the device has known defects (based on what everyone said here, both the individuals hating and/or loving the product) and they are knowingly selling a product with known defects for $250.00.

I think that is the issue DasBlunt is having, he never said the product is bad, he never said haze is a bad company, he stated that he paid $250 of his hard earned money on a half finished device. Is that fair?

Hopefully the V2 of haze will address all the issues!

I was stating that if something is mentioned in previous posts there is no reason to keep saying the same thing over nd over nd over etc. I'm not telling him or anyone what to do but the forum has rules and if I'm not mistaken that's one of them. I'm not trying to be a moderator either. We just try to read the whole thread and not keep reposting the same thing.

To get back to haze related subjects, they have acknowledged us here and privately about these issues. As previous posts say. They already came out wit a revised unit in less than 6 months of being released, their V2. That's pretty damn good IMO. There are bigger issues than a stickey mp. Like improving heat up time almost in half for example.

Anyway these issues have been aknoledged and are in the process of getting fixed so there is no need to keep repeating it. That's all nothing more nothing less. Hopefully you find a way to enjoy your vape because IMO it's one hell of a first shot.

I can't wait to see what's cooking at haze for a complete overhaul or possibly another unit entirely in the future. Idk if that's a possibility and is purely speculation.

Calling thesee known defects is a little strong in my opinion. The changes were made based on preferences and feedback from users on how to make it better. I think the original unit offers a competitive value and these changes only enhance that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but to act surprised about some of the items on the ten point list just points to not reading this thread. My point on my comment was that most of this was discussed and in some instances changed for future versions.

I think anyone who is new to this thread, should read the thread from the very beginning to see how this evolved. Bunch of people including myself, have purchased Haze when it was originally released and we were all extremely happy with the performance as it was back then. Everyone shared their opinion on how to improve an already well thought product and all those ideas were taken seriously by the manufacturer.

So far they released the V2 which is even much better than the first release. Does it still have room for improvement? Yes and it always will, like any other product. Is there a perfect car? perfect phone? perfect house? I own several high end vaporizers and I know that Haze offers more value than most of them now. With their original first release, I would say that it was right up their alley but now, I can comfortably say that it offers way more.

You should also compare apples to apples. People who are willing to spend $400.00 - $500.00 on different portables, are also complaining on every page about the issues they are experiencing. Same as the people who spend $45.00 on a portable. So people will complain or argue about how to make something better, no matter what, because we all want something better. The reality is, within its price range of $249.00, Haze was a good product when it first came out and now it is a great product with V2. Can it be greater? yes...and thats why we are here discussing improvements. So we can enjoy V3,4,5 to come out.

Haze has replied and are sending me a new machine!!! Awesome, straight forward and no hassle. They seem to look towards the example set by Magic Flight for customer service and attention to details.

I do not think for a second we are "beating a dead horse". That is not the point of FC.com, and Haze obviously reads and reacts to issues as they stated so clearly above. NO one can read the entire thread....most regular people scan, go to the end, and see what is up. Generally, I watch and read a few reviews....no one mentioned any of these issues, and when more than 5 occurred, i started keeping track.

I think most people who pay almost 300.00USD for a device, expect it to work without moments of "wtf?". The demographic of FC.com is people who own multiple devices and like to help with beta. You guys do not keep any company in business. Threads like this will not change their sales, only help them in quest of perfection.

:D:D:D:nod::nod::nod::myday::hmm:

Much has not been mentioned.

Adding an extra push of the button, to turn the machine off, while cleaning it, would be helpful, no one mentioned that at all. I actually might not have bought it, had I known the unit cannot be shut off without removing the battery when the draw tube area is open.

The metal contact points attached to the machine, which close on top of the carts, came loose, and it was a pain to reconnect them to the lid, never heard anyone mention that.

I know people will experience that particular issue with wax and oil, as it leaks out the carts and makes the upper contact points stick to the carts below.

They seem to acknowledge working on a solution to their achilles heel ( stem getting stuck), as you cannot use the device without it. I hope that issue can be solved eloquently. If not, then they will deal with more returns than they can imagine when the uniformed and non-geeked out masses start experiencing total failures.

If you cannot get the stem out, or have to leave it out and lose it while traveling, it turns into a 300USD paperweight. The portable aspect has to be valid and being attached to alcohol and ear swabs, a brush and some tweezers, is not portable at all.

Unless you are a vape hobbyist, you would not care much and just return it as faulty. This forum allows feedback with the actual inventors, which is beyond cool.

I am glad that these improvements are discussed. All Haze lovers (i count myself in). When you look at most of the other brands, people are discussing heat up issues, battery life problems, app not syncing issues, vapor density problems, dry herb turning into ash, ABV looking like trash etc. On this thread, we are discussing that we may loose our accessories, we may break glass mouthpieces, what if we do not clean our product and it gets sticky. What if we decide never to clean at all and all that resin messes up the product? Battery door closes but not tight enough. Hey you know what, if I really look through less than a millimeter opening on the door latch, I may even see a red cable in there :) So Haze lovers, these are all great posts and validates most of our passion about this product. One subject that everbody agree on is the fact that Haze guys do take care of the customers and they do care about our opinion. So keep them coming.

Yep Bruce, 10 Year warranty, which is very nice. Again, I have high hopes for this machine. I like the slow heat up time, the really cool vapor, and perfect taste from anything I use. Like I said before, I work in the wine/food industry, and taste is my life.

Losing accessories is one thing, but not being able to use the machine if the draw tube is stuck, or lost because you could not store it in the unit where it was supposed to be in the first place.....it is a huge issue, unless you are home with alcohol and the brush and tweezers and ear swab.

One subject that everbody agree on is the fact that Haze guys do take care of the customers and they do care about our opinion. So keep them coming.

I second that. Great points on how the Haze excels when it comes to doing the job superbly and efficiently too! That is what really counts otherwise you might as well be back at the combustion coral.
