Discontinued The Herbalizer

I had PM'd Engineer with info about our couch lol , and questions which he answered and said it's ok to post here:

My questions:
?? Any idea how long the halogen bulb will last and about how much $$ to replace?
I assume the whole unit would have to be sent in to do this, not a DIY task?

Answer:

  1. The bulb replacement is not DIY and the bulb is custom and not available anywhere. It should last the life of the warranty, it depends on frequency of use, temperatures, how many times or gets dropped, etc. For a careful guy like me who uses it 0-2 times per day at medium temp the bulb will outlive me. For a vapelounge.. I dunno, but am interested to find out! If I had to guess it would probably still last a couple years.

Keep these good questions on the forum so others can read too. And feel free to post my answer to you ;)

    I hope that helps.

@Engineer if you could come out with a all glass bowl/vapor path for dry and water use for the herbie, then desktops should be something IMO you have mastered. I would love to see what your ideas on the portable aspect could evolve into! Definitely a supporter.

Hey all! Just wanted to share with you - I've finished my herbalizer Silicone HT adapter! Early reports are great!

I just finished printing what I hope is the final mold. I vapor polished it this morning and it seems like the finished parts will look REALLY nice (glossy finish). I hope to have an official listing posted by this weekend.

Is anyone else kind of unimpressed with the whip? I find that it doesn't really deliver quality hits below 375. Above like 390, the hits are too harsh for me unless I draw through water.

It's interesting, because I get really nice bags as low as 325 sometimes. Even at that low of a temperature, I can get visible clouds with a pleasant taste. Also, I get smooth vapor all the way up to max temp with the bags

On the other hand, I can draw from the whip for 15+ seconds with fan assist on at 350 and get just a mediocre hit. I absolutely love the herbie so far, but I want to get as much out of the whip as I can from bags.

Has anyone else noticed this? Do you have any tips & tricks for more satisfying whip usage? Has anyone achieved nice results switching to a different type of whip?

Bags are nearly perfect for vapor, but they get sticky too fast to the point where they stop filling properly because they're stuck together. I feel like they aren't as durable or anti-stick as Volcano's bags.

The whip on Herbie is the fastest way to medicate via vapor. Very potent. Dangerously potent! But I'm always leaking oil from the whip, and sometimes it flicks little drops of oil all over the place — very annoying. I find the whip to be high maintenance and hard to clean.

Maintenance on the Herbie is higher than I expected because of the bags becoming so sticky so quickly, and the small whip size collects oil/residue quickly as well.

Herbie bags are also much more dense than Volcano bags, am I right? Volcano fills bags faster. Herbie fills them with more potent vapor so you use fewer bags with Herbie.

That's my impression after about 400 bags from both.

I get about a week of heavy use out of a bag. Once it gets very dirty you lose out on taste and performance. It really becomes a pain in the ass in a colder environment. Im currently hitting some bags at 375°F. Really reminds me of the early Volcano days at 6.5 on the dial. I will fill a bag and go for a car ride.

I too have noticed oil droplets dripping from a dirty whip. This is a sign you need to clean it. Herbie is the first whip Vape I have owned, and it is simple and easy to clean the whip. Fill with iso, shake, rinse and dry. Takes a few minutes. @Vitolo pointed out oil can drip from a dirty whip into the filling chamber.

Definitely agree with the above few posts. I just could never get the ABV taste out of the whip though, no matter how much I cleaned with ISO and hot soap water. It was no different in my EQ days with the whip, and ultimately turned me off of bags/whips. For this reason I still think the best way to use the herbie is with a small silicone adapter and hydratube! Nothing but pure flava baby! Fuck, I miss my Herbie!

In regards to the denser vapor in bag than from whip hits, I have a thought. The bag is a closed container so all the vapor is collected and looks denser. Plus, doesn't some vapor get absorbed by you lungs and therefore wouldn't look as dense when exhaled? Maybe I'm just not seeing it correctly. What really matters in my opinion is the effect.

i absolutely agree. When I first got the Herbie I was a little disappointed in its lack of cloud producing ability, but that's when I learned you don't need clouds, cause the Herbie gets me medicated harder and faster then any other vape I've tried. I consider it a "coming of age" vape experience lol. Obviously it's cool and fun to blow massive dragon clouds of vape, but it's where that vape gets you that really counts.

So I'm a couple weeks into my Herbalizer ownership. This is also my first vaporizer.

First of all, I love vaping. I didn't know it could be like this! I feel so much better in general. I get all the good stuff with none of the unwanted side effects :D

So far my favorite method is the bags by far. The taste is great, so smooth. The only problem is I'm already on my second bag. Also with a brand new bag at high temp I noticed some vapor leaking while filling and I always hold the bag in place.

I'm a big noob but I want to get some new tubing and start vapor bonging. I'm hoping it will be smooth like bags but with the ease of the whip

Hey all!

Just wanted to share that my molds are finished and I am now selling the Herbalizer 18mm HT adapter on my Etsy store! Here's a link for those lurkers who can't see my signature - https://www.etsy.com/listing/210827170/herbalizer-vaporizer-waterpipe-adapter

(The pictures show a rough finish, these are older pictures. I'm going to grab a freshly cast one and get some nice pictures of the glossy finish)

Thanks to everyone who made this accessory a reality. Since I'm not lucky enough to own an herbie yet, I would never have made this part without the multiple requests, and kindness of a fellow FC member who was willing to lend me a spare bowl for SEVERAL months while we worked on Ceramic prototypes

Hello fellow herbalizers!

I'm fairly new on this website... so... nice to meet everyone!

I've had the herbalizer for over a month now so I want to share my thoughts and see what you guys think.

I'll start with the good stuff first. This bad boy heats up FAST! But you already knew that! The taste and vapor production is amazing in every mode (although different). Concentrates work pretty well. It's not ugly as sin, and can blend in to a room fairly well. On top of all that it NEVER combusts my herb.

I do have some gripes, though. One of then being cooling down. If I turn the temp down from the highest to the lowest setting it takes about 5 min., unless I turn the fan on. Then it takes like 45 seconds. Is this normal? Should I have to use the fan too cool it at a normal speed? Also, I notice that occasionally the fan will turn off while in use. I thought it was possible that there was a blockage but it has happened when the herb chamber was empty as well (easier to clean a warm chamber).

Now, onto the bags. The bags were the main reason I bought this product, but I gotta admit, I haven't been using them at all. Mainly because I have to hold the bag on the whole time, or it will leak vapor every time without fail. They also don't stand up when they're done like the volcano or fill up as fast. By the way, how long does it take you guys to fill a bag?

For whip mode I used a 3/8" ID tube and get huge clouds. I love it. The stock whip was way too restrictive for me and had a funky taste.

The brush that came with it was of low quality in my opinion and is falling apart at the moment. The Cool grips don't really stay on that well or stay that cool. Although I do have issues with it, the herbalizer is still the best vaporizer I have used.

Hey dude, welcome to FC! @Engineer explained the cool-down in pretty good depth very recently, and you will learn tonnes by reading most of this thread, or at least the last half or so.

They bags fill up so fast, that I never minded holding the valve for the 1/2 minute or so fill up, but many say they have no issues with leakage. I agree with the stock whip tasting funky and being too restrictive. I went 7th floor tubing, but then started to get melting issues around where it met the bowl, probably due to the prolonged exposure to hot temps when using the fan assist.

My brush wasn't great either, I much preferred using the brush from MFLB. I couldn't stant the cool grips (or stock tubing siliicone for that matter) so I took them off, and never had any issues with a "hot bowl" or anything.

Happy to hear that you love the Herbie...it really is a game changer, and surely only better things are to come! Cheers.

I like to use the stock tubing with the mouthpiece removed. It gives good airflow similar to the 7th floor tubing.

I have become a fan of the Herbie tubing. It's not so stiff that it wants to have its own way and the ends are flexible enough to easily insert and remove glass adapters. I literally had to cut the adapter out of my Arizer hose, but it just pulls right out of Herbie tubing. And it doubles for use with my MiniVap, but that's another story.

Bottom line is at first I didn't like the tubing but now I really do. I prefer it to any other tubing I have.

I have been using the tubing for about 5 months, and have iso washed it a few times. It is still working great.

The only thing I dislike about the whip is how it attracts dirt.

Very nice...I've been waiting for these to be perfected. I ordered 2, one for each of my Herbie bowls. Also ordered a couple of these 18mm female whip adapters from Oregon Glassblower.

Should fit right on top of Ratchett's HT adapter for using a whip with all my non-hydratube glass. I like how the angled whip adapters trap condensate and avoid the whip heating up and becoming soft.
