I'm always SUPER careful with my stuff. I won't even let other people handle my stuff, and especially my MFLB products. If you just take good care of it, it shouldn't break. And take precautions beforehand, i.e. don't hold it over cement or tile vs. carpeting, store in a very secure place, handle like you're dealing with a bomb, lol. Anyway, that's how I take care of my stuff and I've had less breakage of smoking paraphernalia than anyone I know.

When my MFLB arrived the glass draw tube was already broken and ....
Vapornation immediately shipped me a new one.... which I immediately used, and immediately shattered by dropping it on the tile floor and immediately remembered how klutzy I am when baked so I immediately crafted my own draw tubes from some left over acrylic tubes I had from some old craft kit.

I hate to Like that post but ... With my first Launch box I got 4 glass stems and broke 'em all the very first day too, Just used acrylic stems for a year or two until ED started making wooden ones and I've been hitting through Wood since then.

i agree with you, about them knowing all the tricks. maybe the less stickers it has, the more likely it slips through. :)
anyway, i've got a second reply on the matter of the warranty. so you may not have to go the customs route at all. :)

"Thank you for taking the time to respond. Up until recently, the Orbiter was only available from our website, so this is likely the cause of the confusion from the fuck combustion post.

I can assure you that we’ll honor all honest warranty claims for the Orbiter, no matter where you’ve purchased from. It’s perfectly understandable that you would desire to purchase locally, and we fully support your decision."

Yes 40% is insane but it happens regularly. For example, i bought a PA on Massdrop: PA + Shipping $62.36*0,8=€49.89 + invoice/tax €21,61 , so that was and will be the last time i bought something on Massdrop

And customs invoice know all the tricks, it`s their job. I think the more labels "cheap, under $25 Christmasgift for my poor, sick grandpa:myday:" the parcel has, the more likely it will be they open it and check everything.

The launch tube!

I remember telling MF when they first started showing us this that it looked like a high school science project. I was really kind of heavy handed with them in regards to their R&D claims with their Launch Tube, but in retrospect, maybe a bit too heavy-handed. Kinda mellowed out in my old age.

Now it is possible to turn our warrantied boxes into maud dib boxes.

Yes you can do that, IMO different than should you do it. As a favor to us, MF is not requiring us to mail the defective box back, instead taking our word that it's been destroyed. Saving each of us that need this a hassle and cost we'd otherwise have to deal with. I like that, and support it, as I'm sure most do.

I get it that some/many (perhaps even most) don't agree with the idea that your word should be worth more, but IMO there's a moral issue in play that to me is important. My word is worth more than the cost involved, if only to me. I'd hope others feel this way too. I think if you accept a replacement box in exchange for your promise to dispose of the original you should do just that.

Each guy gets to make his own call, of course, but in the unlikely event I'm ever in such a position I hope I play it straight. Technically I think this is embezzlement, not theft, FWIW. Being dishonest at this level is close enough to stealing IMO to not bother with the differences......I'll pass.

I feel the exact same way as OF on this matter.

I also wouldn't be too surprised if the destruction of warrantied boxes starts to include a step to destroy the connecting rods in the near future (thus making it impossible to use with a maud dib screen.)

If Magic Flight gave the go ahead to use warrantied boxes in this fashion, and I doubt they will, then I would feel different on the matter.
As-is, I'm with OF, it's close enough to stealing that I want no part in it.

Edit
Now, should someone want to rip the screen out of their box without filing warranty claim, I have no problem with that.

Once you complete a warranty claim though, in my eyes, that box no longer belongs to you.

Now it is possible to turn our warrantied boxes into maud dib boxes. simply buy replacement screens and clamp them on once you are done the warranty process. http://sales.magic-flight.com/muad-dib-replacement-screens/

Have you or anyone you know actually done this? I have a Muad-Dib replacement screen, and when look at my MFLB I don't see this as being as simple as you make it. The screen looks like it is spot-welded for the length of the rails in the LB. If you manage to tear it off and clean the rods well enough to make a firm contact, you still have issue of the clips. The rails of the Muad-Dib are not obstructed and the clip fits over them easily. With the LB, you have to contend with the shoulder somehow.

Even if you can make it work, I agree with the others above: you'd be guilty of warranty fraud. I realize that Magic-Flight is not likely to know what you've done, and I doubt they'd do anything even if they did, but wouldn't your conscience bother you? Mine would, even if Magic-Flight weren't the wonderful people they are.

love my LB still!
I like using a very fine grind for vaping and the LB lets me do that without material falling through the screen.

the cleaner, the better.

Q-tip/ISO clean them, then if there are any snags where the old trench was welded, try to remove them, or place the rep-trench forward or back from that spot. good, trench-wide electrical connectivity is important with the rep-trenches.

they can also be tricky to position correctly, or even just "good enough to use". but thay aren't as delicate as they look. just know that you will likely mess your first try up, so be sure to take note of the things you use and what you do while installing so your second go will be much easier.

How do you guys cut down on the smell of the actual unit?
It doesn't smell much, but I have been called out by people who are familiar with the weed smell.
For clarification, not the smell of the unit when it's being used, but rather after it's been used and is just in your pocket or whatever.

@OF would acetone work? People use it to clean their vapman as that's what he recommends. I can imagine it might NOT be good for the lid.

Typo fixed :|

Acetone won't do much damage if removed quickly, but it can dry out the wood. It will ruin any sort of finish. It's a major component of paint strippers.

Do not use acetone on the lid. It is made from acrylic, which is easily damaged by acetone.

Thank you, I don't wanna dry out either my mflb's or vapmans. I'll just stay
clear.

For the record, I meant not good for the lid! Just noticed that typo in my post above..

That smell probably isn't going to to away unless you get a brand new MFLB. Your best bet would be to put the box inside some sort of airtight or otherwise sealed container. Even a ziploc plastic bag will help as long as you're not touching the outside with pot on your fingers. :D I keep my box and accessories inside a camera bag, and I can fit the finishing grinder, the box, a handful of stems, and multiple batteries in all at once. While it doesn't have a perfect seal, it definitely cuts down on smell. You can even put it in a plastic bag inside the case for extra protection.

I have one of these in gray:

I can snap some pics of everything fitting inside if you'd like. Everything is nice and snug, no rattling. It's pretty compact, too.

So......
I am the one who came here several months ago and wrote negative comments about MFLB due to it's combustion or even no vapor production and many etc. And I called this 'mini mini mighty mo' a piece of rubbish and sold on ebay.

Some how, I felt 'how come there are so many positive reviews available here?' so I gave second chance. And I am back with new walnut LB. And I really love this little 'mini mini mighty mo' so much that I can't let it rest.
I was wrong. I was fool. I apologize to you guys..

This is the smallest vaporizer in my palm.

Plus: The new glyph battery seems kicking ass!
