that's great, I have had great results and good results so far, all usage is the best vaping I have achieved. Do you grind to dry dust?, coarse n moist? or what consistency with your pack method?, also do you go just to the grey plastic rim?. Thanks bros.

Yeah its just a grip thing so the wire comes out the back. No cooling advantage.

I can see how some may appreciate the crafty over the firefly, it seems like more of an automatic compared to a stick shift. The firefly still holds its own, but there are clear differences and these two vapes will appeal to different users, apples and oranges imho. More vexing is the mighty vs. the mv, wrong thread tho.

I think for if s&b threw in an airtight hard case that has a cut out for the crafty, the grinder, the filling tool and a powerbank that would have really been awesome.

The crafty is like a 15 speed automatic though....

For me the Crafty supplants all other portables I've tried but you are right- it really depends on whats most important to you. Truly the FF is in THE class above the rest, IMO, that class includes the Crafty, followed by the Pax and then the FF. All great choices!

You rate the Pax higher than the FF and leave out the Mini totally?

So I just picked this up at Radio Shack on clearance for $1.97. It's a tight fit but it's exactly what I wanted so I can just slip it into my coat pocket. It's not carbon lined but it will do just fine!

Yep-I've enjoyed the Pax over the FF. I seem to be the minority in this view. Haven't tried the Mini. Is it a worthy contender of the Crafty in your view?

I haven't used a firefly, but I've used a bunch of portables. One thing I have to say that I haven't seen talked about much as a draw back to the FF and one reason why I am interested in the crafty. It has to do with the whole " getting a feel for it" thing. I own a MLFB and HATE it. I'm a cloud chaser that needs to feel the hit, and so was always pushing the edge. Nothing is worse than combusting your load. :( I just don't like the whole learning curve thing and ESPECIALLY with friends who have not used it before. If used incorrectly, or let's say a person is not good at " getting a feel for it. " will the FF combust the meds in it the way a MLFB will? If so, I just don't have any interest in that.

It IS Apples to oranges, it IS all about personal preference, and no one vape, as of yet, will make everyone happy. Probably never will. But for me, I don't care how good the taste is or how instant it is. I don't care how easy it cleans, or about its appearance, what so ever, If it might combust my supply. Even if it's through my error, it's just not for me.

I've heard reports of combustion with the FF, but I've never had it occur with my unit. Hell, I've tried to get it to combust just to see if it would, but I couldn't get ignition no matter my technique.

One note that I'm not sure has been discussed is the draw restriction difference between the two. FWIW I find the FF about twice as restrictive as the Crafty. This is not important for me personally, but I have noticed that some people prefer less restriction in their vapes.

With all you've said about the MFLB and what is of paramount concern to you the Crafty is a better choice over the FF.

That's kind of funny you brought draw resistence up in a reply to me because DR is probably my biggest thing I'm looking to avoid. Not for medical reasons like some. I just don't like it. I don't use my pax much anymore mostly for that reason.

My favorite portable up until recently has been the PnP. I love it's free draw and performance. Unfortunately, my main portable for now is the solo ( which I do like a lot as well even though it has some DR. ) because the PnP just keeps self destructing.

So yeah I hear you. My perfect vape has little to no draw resistence. ( and really, no draw resistance vapes are also so much nicer to hit through water than vapes that have DR. )

An interesting note, and I hope it's not poor form to say this in the crafty thread, but the guy that owns the Pinnacle company that makes the PnP is pretty active on the PnP thread. He has announced they are re-making the PnP pretty much exactly as is, only with new better materials and a slightly rethought design. ( guessing this has to do with the mouth piece as its a bit janky and has always drawn criticism. ) he has stated the new PnP will be offered in your choice of two different materials. The PnPs performance has always been very high. It's the reliability that was the problem. If he really builds the vape he's talking about building ( and yes I know about a ifs. ) I think it WILL compete with the crafty on performance.

Having said that, I've been nicking my tips $5 or $10 bucks a night to save for the crafty. I'm a little over half way there. Wish me speed. lol. ( God it's so hard to be patient listening to all you crafty owners. )

I've sent mine up for repair or replacement now 4 times. I love the form factor of it but hoping my investment in the Grasshopper pays off but I'm not holding my breath.

Seriously though, S&B have a freaking heart. This thing may be great, but $400? A more sensible person in my same financial bracket would not even consider that price. Way to high.
