MiniVAP Vaporizer

Hmm, makes it sound like the minivap is very sensitive to grind and weed cure. Is this true? How picky is it about what you put in.

If you want the best out of deluxe things usually it's best too fill them with similarly deluxe things  as usually they are designed to function best being used alongside one another.
Having said that, it still extracts the :shit: outta anything you put in it. For me curing improves the already beautiful flavours it provides
If you wanna quick bish bash bosh session the MV can provide this also
Works best when it's had a cycle or so though with the flowers I have at my disposal. :brow: They range range from low/mid to mid. The occasional high grade. The high is supreme for all vapes I've tried, which is admittedly few. EQ, Solo, Vapocane and Volcano.. And a really basic halogen one called Vaporeyes. Wooden with an upside down jam jar type set up on top with a whip. Was 100 pounds back in 2005 or so :myday:
images

:bowdown:Wow! A double whip version!!

Edit# I would imagine that real high grade material(flowers) would offer more options for a grind that's capable of changing the way it functions

Anyone in here already loaded the chamber directly and has the arizer baskets? I have these things but don't want to dirty up my device.. :disgust:
I might though... Loading the chamber with herb and :whip:snapping your arizer basket in to the flexicone putting into chamber carefully inverting onto a WT or again having :whip:snapped the basket into the flexicone + then screwed the cap on.
These of course resulting in material super close to the heat source with lesser metal basket barriers initially.
Hey I guess you could even do this with the large basket. Maybe cup the basket inwards... Would this change up air flow much?
I'm a rambling man. Sorry.
:ugh:

I don't notice any issues with grind or cure. It works like all my other vapes. Soon I will drop a whole nugget in there to see what that's like. Probably taste city.

I am with you on this. I crushed a few bowls yesterday with my brand new Minivap. I was experimenting with my grind and tried two different opinions. First I went with a medium grind from my Space Case and then tried a fine grind from a Magic Flight finishing grinder. The results seemed the same to me. I did find cleaning a bit easier in the medium grind.

I started on the low temps and stepped my way up. I wasn't getting huge clouds with either grind but the taste was amazing (and lasts a good while)!

I am looking forward to getting to know this thing a lot better! So far so good!

I've pretty much have stuck to my Space Case grind since I also don't see much difference either. I think the cure of the bud makes the bigger difference.

The Mini will hopefully win you over like it has for many of us.

On a side note, I'm thankful my saga of exchanging my faulty unit will end this Friday when my replacement arrives. The trip from the West Coast to the East Coast is a week long journey sadly.

X2. It works fine with any grind size. I just do a med/ med fine grind.
Like scottg, I just avoid a super fine grind to avoid any specs falling thru
the "basket module" to help it stay clean.
My heating chamber looks like new and the only thing that has needed any
cleaning is the mouthpiece--a quick swab with a pipe cleaner. I see reports
and pics of the Mighty and having to clean the cooling chamber every few
days..... not with the miniVAP.

I fired a Lil nug in today. Was nice and crispy. I put it straight into the chamber and snapped the arizer basket into flexi + which smooshed down the bud as I screwed on the lid.
You are right, flavour is more pronounced, but less clouds with my material.
Lots of whispy hits going up the colours.
Crushed the bud up after transferring into the large basket and got a nice cloud or two on red. The bud was real crisp before crushing.
Another way to use it so cheers Stickstones! Chamber stayed clean too..

I popped a tiny nug in the large basket this weekend. It didn't even fill it up but that nug went around forever! The taste is just out of control as well!

Just two days of usage so far but I can already see this becoming my daily driver for around the house. :D

Fuck. I was about to pack another elb, but after checking in here I must do the nugg! Of I go!

Btw, the way to go, imo, is to hit the nugg once or twice and then crumble it. The next hit will be huge!

We passed it around for a while before we poked it but I will try this next time.
I recently got this and the ESV. I must say I am loving both for the taste and efficiency.

In other news.....I am looking for a water attachment solution. Does anyone use the glass 14 MM adapter here?

http://www.minivap.com/usa/accessories/kit-14mm-glass-adapter.html

Nice price and it looks like it just locks in place of the mouthpiece.

Interesting......that's a new item, I know I never saw it before. I see the decarb kit is available again also.

Might have to get that.

So, not sure how the 14 mm adapter is used:
1. have flexicone protruding thru the cover and this snaps on. Then invert onto bubbler with the 14 mm male joint.
2. have a flexicone plus (+) coming thru the cover, and this adapter snaps onto silicone tubing which you then put into bubbler. Flexicone pluses are pictured below, one piece silicone basket cap and whip.

I could be wrong but that appears to be their version of your standard whip-to-14mm water pipe adapter. nice of them to make those available, and at a nice price!

I've been using a simple 14mm water pipe adapter with the flexicone+ and it works very well. I think there is a benefit to using the lid because the basket and load stay warmer in between hits, promoting a more rapid onset of vapor production when I start to draw. I think it's a noticeable difference. It doesn't stay hot enough to waste any actives in between draws, but the hot air has to do that much less work when I start to draw because the load is already quite warm. This may have been an intentional design feature. It seems to work even better when I use the arizer basket as cap for the large MV basket. This is currently my favorite way to MV, using a shortened flexicone+, a 14mm whip adapter, a 14mm-->18mm expander, and my Mobius Ion.

I will say that this probably does not give as pure of a convection experience as the other well known method that doesn't involve the lid. There is probably a little conduction and radiant heat transfer going on when the two baskets get hot during a hit. But it's nice IMO, and does seem to provide better throttle response  This is just my current go to method, not saying it's the best. Loving the MV a lot... it's really all I'm using these days

question: what is the best way to clean the flexicones? After some decent use, I can't get rid of the smell. It's not a bad smell, just the smell of condensed vapor oil. but it's pretty strong. I tried cleaning with a brief (5 minutes or less) ISO soak. Didn't work... any suggestions or do I need to just replace them after a while?

Ordered these.

I ordered the O-rings and Glass adapter. They are priced so differently than the rest of the stuff they have jacked up price wise, I almost feel like they are priced wrong, so now looks like the time to do it. I guess if I figure in the $18 I got charged to ship from Europe to USA the price is right in line with the overpriced point I just made in the last sentence.

Details for Adapter

Materials: 100% borosilicate Glass
Standard 14mm male to flexicone/flexicone+ 8mm.

So, the Flexicone+ slips over the nipple of the glass piece and the Flexicone goes inside the 8mm nipple?????

This might seem like a strange question but who does not have an o-ring seal on their cone where it goes through the hole in the lid? This does not apply to the flex-cone+.

I'm unsure what you mean sorry.

Edit * As in on the narrowest part of the nipple?

Me too smknbud! Though mines should arrive first I'd have thought. Decarb ring on its way to me too! Exciting times.

The euro site has changed what it said on the description of the glass adaptor.. I'm not crazy! I swear.. It mentioned the o ring screens alongside The adaptor. Now it doesn't.

This is from my order confirmation email.
Item Sku Qty Subtotal
MV O-ring Filter Discs Kit
MV.ADAPTER14MM 1 €6.90
MV Filter Discs Kit MV.Filters.Kit 1 €3.90
MV Decarboxylation Kit MV.Decarbox.Kit 1 €39.00
MV O-ring Filter Discs Kit MV.O-ring.Filters.Kit 1 €6.90

See! The names have changed.. As has the price. Now the adaptor is 8.90euros and it has no mention of the o ring.
Whereas it was called the MV o ring filter disc kit. Mv adaptor.
It's not visible now but it did mention about using it with the o rings. Odd.

I best check with em incase they mess up and don't send me the adaptor.
