Any FC glassblowers worked with quartz before? Need custom work done...

Ok, so I am loving my new sublimator XLR 2.0, but it really needs a second atomizer for oils IMO.

I want to find a glassblower who could make me a thick, strong quartz bowl with an 18mm female GonG adapter. The bowl would be purpose shaped/sized to fit my sublimator dabmaster ti heater snugly enough that it would not fall out. This would be for dabbing purposes on my oil rig so as to allow regular reclaim for oil (allowing me to make shatter reclaim instead of mixing in said shatter reclaim with sublimate from flowers, resulting in red goop instead of shatter!). It will also allow me to quickly switch pieces for oils and flowers, meaning that I can truly taste each of them properly!

Please make yourself/selves known if you can do this, and let us get down to business! :D

For reference, something like this 18mm slide but made of quartz and with a bowl deep enough and shaped such that the sub can sit there without somehow having to hold it in place.

I think you're asking a LOT here. My understanding of (fused) Quartz glass is it's basically sand (SiO2) like you'd get at the beach heated past 2000C so it (finally) melts. By definition it's a glass, but basically unlike the more common forms that we know. I has to be worked at much much higher temperatures and is like 10 times more stable with temperature meaning you can't combine the types. GonG fittings, I fear, might not work for that reason.

I'm not saying nobody can make such a piece, I just think it's not possible for glass blowers in general. There is a good reason why we go to all the trouble to manufacture and use 'lesser glasses'. Quartz glass has few uses that don't require their unique properties (like low loss in fiber optics, or UV transparency in 'windows' used in semiconductors).

Good luck with your quest. At the same time be careful what you ask for. I can imagine GonG fittings with more common grades sticking together with a few temperature cycles like grim death.

Dude, quartz blowers exist, they are around if you google them. I am given to understand that quartz requires a hotter flame (between 1850 and 2000 or so farenheit) and generally a cleaner burning fuel than propane from memory. However, it is absolutely possible to get quartz stuff made by a blower with gong adapters! Kingofquartz.com is an example of a glassblower who works with quartz... I just wanna see if I can find anyone through here who is trusted to do the job :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I take it you're basically looking for another reclaim collector? If that's the case then I don't think quartz is necessary. The main advantage of quartz is its temperature shock resistance, so unless you're rapidly heating and cooling you won't really realize any advantage over standard boro. I assume the Sublimator has a fairly linear (and gradual) heating curve so you'd be fine using boro in my opinion.

If you want a blower rec, @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd made me a boro heater cover for my homemade vape almost 5 months ago. It's held up perfectly, and that's even after I drilled an air intake hole in it.

Bingo, another reclaim collector (but not one that actually collects reclaim lol) is what I seek. The deal is basically that if you use the same atomizer for flowers and oils, if you use flowers first and then oils, your oils simply taste like the flowers you last had still lol. I have always been a firm believer in keeping separate pieces for oils and flowers. My reclaim from oils has always come back as pretty much the same as what I vaped through the piece :D

I love @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd 's work, My concern is that the sub at oil temps (9 or 10 on the dial, I am not sure what heat this is but I would assume somewhere around 700f). If v & c thinks boro will be perfect for this (keeping in mind a very hot piece of titanium is gonna be sitting directly atop it!), then I will engage his services without question! :D

Yep, I think that's what I just said?

Not impossible, but beyond the equipment and skill level of most glassblowers. Available if you really need it (like for transmission or heat resistance) but will be more expensive and harder to find.

But you knew that?

Indeed I did know this and you are right, sorry if I sounded like I was disagreeing, I had literally just woken up at about 7am on a Sunday (still vaked from last night's oils lol) and may not have fully comprehended your post properly.
