I find that I only get like 6 big draws off a bowl at max temp ... Does that sound right?

Also, when you guys draw off the mighty, if you draw hard, you can hear lots of air coming through?

I am still surprised to hear people getting such few draws.
I get 9-10 minimum on 180c and another 3-4 on 210c boosted (by then the last draw is completely done e.g. No vapor)
Maybe you're extracting quicker at high temp?

Try a finer grind, let it air out for a while (after grinding) before use (vapes generally like dryer material).

I don't know about the mighty, but the crafty does make a faint whistle of air being drawn in as you take a big quick draw.

I noticed a drastic different between types of herb. I was only getting 5-7 draws on one type. What I am using now I am getting a solid 10-12+ draws everytime. The moisture level seemed identical as well, and the effect seems similar.

People seem to equate a higher # of draws as being better ....

I on the other hand think less draws to complete same extraction is much better (as I'm getting the same effect out of less draws/effort)

I guess its all up to personal preference ... but I personally prefer if I can cache a .1-.2 load in <4 draws as opposed to 10+ draws ... I don't like wasting time ... and efficiency of delivery is important to me ...

UPDATE: Couldn't wait. Pulled the trigger. :haw:

I hear you on that! I called my one and only HS the day I heard the news of the new S&B's but they were not aware of it yet even though they are a authorized dealer! So I ended up ordering direct. Couldn't be happier and you are in for treat.

Wow. I thought that maybe after five days, things had changed. But, they haven't.

S&B are the greatest vapes ever. Really.

This is the moment where I pity the end of the legitimacy of FC.

But hey, as long as it means the perpetualness, if not the greatness that is S&B, what difference does it make?

Long live S & B, and God condemn whatever stands in its way.

This forum has made me sad as shit, for what it once was, and what it has become.

That is how I feel too, that is why prior to the Mighty/Crafty the Firefly was my favorite portable. When I am using a portable vape, I am usually out and about doing something, and I dont wan't to stop for a 20 minute session, I want to get vaped and go about my business, or get into the restaurant and eat already :)

I don't understand your complaint. You'd only be satisfied with FC if many people regretted their purchase?

It's beyond evident that the Crafty/Mighty are not the vapes for you. However, they fit the needs of apparently many people.

No vape will fit the needs of every single person. Not a problem. Find what works/doesn't work for you, and move on.

I'm still VERY satisfied with my purchase. My only gripe with the Crafty is the battery. Would I buy another if mine disappeared? Absolutely.

Hey EDA. Welcome back.

I kind of understand where you're coming from but rather than discuss it here, which could take this thread way off topic, I started a new thread that my be a more appropriate venue. Check it out: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/i...for-the-worse-or-is-it-changing-at-all.16380/

For those of you deciding between the Crafty and the Firefly there are three important words to consider: made in Germany. Yes it actually makes a difference. I bought a Firefly less then two months ago and I'm already talking with the service department. Batteries don't even last for one bowl anymore. Maybe it's faulty batteries (they just sent me new ones, very nice Service) but then reading recent posts on the Firefly thread makes it sound that the device itself is faulty.
Anyway, being without a handheld at the moment, I decided to take the plunge and drove from San Francisco to Oakland to Storz and Bickel to look at both the Crafty and the Mighty. Settled on the Crafty and it's the easiest most precise portable I've ever used. To have PRECISE temperature at all times and to be able to produce tasty clouds without the danger of any herb coming out with black specks in it is simply great. With the Firefly it's always a delicate guessing game.
Don't get me wrong I think the Firefly is actually a fantastic idea: stainless steel vapor path, cool design etc. but then again three words matter here too alas: made in China.

Im glad you posted that, I got my crafty today and can only get 2 big hits of it at 195c but the weed i have is a bit crap, it has no shine on it. I noticed that with the volcano as well. with good weed i got three full bags with shit weed maybe 2 if i was lucky.

So with the glory of android I downgraded from 5.0 to 4.4.4. Can't do that on any i-devices...

Anyway I'm back to using the app for my crafty. If I manage to hold out and wait for them to make the crafty work with 5.0 then I can upgrade again. Really liked 5.0, but really LOVE my crafty.

It's a fucking piece of plastic. It's an inanimate object. A vaporizer that for the moment is the star of the show. Big fucking deal that some are swooning over it. It's not like it won't play second fiddle to something else coming down the pipes. It's having it's moment in the sun......for now.

Have you or anyone found any differences or advantages with having the cooling unit/mouthpiece in that direction? Does it cool the vape down just a tad since it appears you are creating a little more distance?

If he is like me, I turn my cooling unit the other way when the Crafty is plugged in so the cable is not in front of me… Very practical! The distance is the same, same cooling results!

So while I like this smell proof RYOT case I find it impractical. It's too bulky for a coat pocket. I'd love a smell proof sleeve that truly works. I tried the FF sleeve but really isn't smell proof. Any ideas?

Crafty Owners: Are any of you using it plugged in as a home vape?
Is the battery bypassed when it's done charging? If I could treat it like a Volcano when Im at home I think the shorter battery life should be okay, but it might be too much cycling on the battery if it is not bypassed.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

FYI (and not trying to start up a love/hate Apple fight) there is a period of anywhere from 1 week to 1 month where the pre-updated IOS is still available on the Apple site if you wanted to change back. But there is no set period of time they keep it posted so you have to act relatively quickly after the upgrade if you want to go back to the previous version.

I've not used my EVO since getting crafty, the charger supplies 10watts and the heater needs 27watts. It will always use the battery, however it seems to heat up faster when plugged in saving the battery a bit. Discharging ~30% should give ~2000 cycles vs discharging %100 giving ~400 cycles, assuming one cycle yields 2 bowls, and you do 3 bowls a day, if you recharge after every 2nd bowl it should last ~3.6 years, or if you recharge after every 6 bowls if would last ~2.2 years. This is perfect timing because your warranty has expired and 'tabbed 18650' batteries and a T6 screwdriver are easy to find online.

I get way more draws with a nice tight pack... Starting to love the mighty after previously getting such whispy hits...

Pack lots, and press on the load slightly

Yeah thats what ive just done it works much better that way. And also with temps going low to high works better for me than vaping at one temperature. Starting at 180c and finishing at 210c going up in 5 degree increments every time. I get nice thick hits right till the end of my session doing this.

I bought the same thing awhile ago with the Ascent/FireFly in mind and found it to be the same as you. Too damn big and bulky. Great for using throwing in an overnighter or back pack, but a no-go for pocket/jacket. I ended up using the Ascent pouch for a perfect fit. I get protection but no odor control.

That's a welcome change. Its no secret I hate apple, but that's a huge step forward. Before when their updates broke apps you were literally stuck. This is much better. Otherwise apple users would have to wonder if iOS updates would break the app ,(the way 5.0 does on android )
