Yea we'll see bow the new Imag handles the ceramic oven, but its pretty common for them to have an open bottom, like FlowerMate. As long as you don't use powder grind it should be ok though, ofcourse I've only done a few bowls grinded in my shredder now, but things look fine. I agree it would be great if the oven was removable and cleanable, like how the T-Vapes is, but that's a pretty uncommon feature unfortunately with conduction portables, especially those from China. My concern was with seeing the led light through the bottom of the chamber, made me ask them about the airpath and if the electronics are sealed away or not.

that is my concern too. how can it be sealed away?? i dont think its possible with this design. if i can see the LED through the hole something has to be connected to that LED.

***EDIT***
i have to say (and its probably just me) i am having the hardest time operating this thing and i havent even filled it yet. still TRYING to do burn-offs. here is what i am having trouble with..... i can turn it on and off (the 5 clicks) no issue. its getting it out of standby and selecting a heat that i am having the worst time with. like i said the 5 clicks i am good with but when i try to do the 3 clicks to start it heating it does not register well. sometimes when trying i turn it off, other times it does nothing. every once in awhile i get it right and the light comes on to start it heating.

i have had lots of pens that need a sequence of clicking to do things but never had as much trouble as this. i have not even tried a run of herbs in it yet and i am already having issues... this is not good.

Yeah I had that trouble too. Now I'm ok though, just wait after you turn it on for the battery indicator light to then off. Then do your 3 clicks, not too rapid. I think maybe the led indications are part of the weak battery. Still trying to find out where to get some spare but haven't been able to get anywhere asking people today on here...

At the beginning there was a lot of leds bugs as you describe, but now if it happens sometime, i unscrew the battery and screw it again...this fix seems to work.

I'm agree the taste is not really nice, although I don't think the oven itself is smelling but only the mp, my T-Vape mp rubber taste takes several months of light use to pass, it will be the same for this one (except if I try the coconut oil!).

I need to find a way to use it without this mp to verify this improve the taste and maybe this improve the airflow too....cause it's very restricted imo.

I used 3 differents 18650's, the blue one provided with the unit (5-8 sessions, it depend the t°), a used HGB 2600mah (from my dead Fakepax, same performances) and the better is a HGB 2200mah (from my T-Vape) which gave me 8-10 sessions (autoshutoff), I didn't care before Mrweed posted about 10C....is it only a performances issue or it can break the unit....?

Honnestly I only made one burn off cause my oven smelled pretty clean hot and cold and when i draw through it (without the mp), I cleaned the mp one time only cause I remenber the T vape rubber taste from the mp was really long to pass.

good vapes!

I felt like this mouthpiece got neutral very quick, in just iso. While T-Vape mouthpiece took much longer for me

Heard back from TopGreen about batteries and the airpath. Here is the response:

"airpath issue ,the air is just come from the usb and lighter hole, exposed to PCBA, but separated from above oven part.we will make a separated path for the air soon.

regarding the battery, we dnot whether your selected is with 10C output because i cannot any information in the related link. but i suggest you use below battery.

Requirment: need 18650 Series, Above 10C output.
below option is better than our domestic battery.but we cannot get stable supply of below battey in china,as i had talked with the Samsung and Sony `sexclusive distributor .
1.Sony ,VTC 5 2600mah is perfect, but in high price. (VTC 4 ,VTC 3 is also ok, but with lower capacity ,at 2100 mah and 1600 mah)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-SONY-US18...US_Rechargeable_Batteries&hash=item19f59e6368
2.Samsung 25R 2500mah,not expensive, easy to get. its very good.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PCs-SAMSU...e_Batteries&hash=item3a9c3bf8d8#ht_992wt_1312
3.LG HE2 2500Mah, is also OK.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-LG-HE2-3-...e_Batteries&hash=item2c91b64936#ht_979wt_1074

So they're ready working on v3 and will make sure electronics are separated going forward. But as of now, v2 is more like FlowerMate in that airpath and electronics are open. So that would help explain less than stellar flavor, but it seems safe enough for now.

I'm trying to decide if I want to order the Samsungs, but they may not arrive in time for my Wednesday trip so maybe I shouldn't bother?

My bright yellow DHL packaged X-MAX V2 arrived by my door this morning:) (took only 3 days from HK-UK)
I am very impressed so far and I am playing with this black didldo since I received it.
5 clicks on / off , 3 clicks to change to desired temperature in between 5 selection. (356, 374, 392, 410, 428) I tends to stay mostly at 374-392, but if I crank up to 410-428? Omg,This is the Cloud extractor.
I was very disappointed that I have chosen my 'fummer' Phantom by Cloud V over Imag or even Imag plus at same price. But I met this little monster. I would say its exactly same length to Imag, but a little more thicker and feels solid on hands.
I could only get 4 x 3 mins session at 392-410 with fully charged battery which is only two chambers for me. (One chamber took me 2 x 3 mins session, total 6 min for one bowl.)
Apart from battery performance I have no claims or complaints to these Hongkongese manufacturer.
Definitely in for X-MAX V3 near soon.

so i brought this out to a friends house who is also an FC member. we did some testing. i am still having issues with the clicking and getting it to heat. i can turn it on and off fine, just not getting it to heat reliably. he had no issue so i know it's just me. we found alot we could agree on.

the good
nice weight and feel
better airflow and better hits
taste was slightly better in the beginning than the Imag+ (brought that one along as well)
removable battery

the bad
open to the electronics design - we both feel this is bad and really not something to be dismissed lightly. the so called "air holes" on the upper part of the tube where you think air would go in are actually solid and for looks only. we blew back through the MP and vapor came out the USB charger port and the 5 LEDS and nothing out the "air holes"
battery is very weak. lasts about one load start to finish then needs charging
my purple light is very dim/weak compared to the others and i could hardly tell it was on or blinking when ready

i really am not sure if i will keep this one or not. or if i dont... is it safe to sell?? overall i am more not happy with it than i am happy with it. they really could have built an awesome vape and the removable battery is great but it is also so weak and too hard to find others like it. it would be great if they included an external charger as well as a second battery.

Sry to hear about you negative experience with x-max 2 , but do you consider that you might have a faulty unit or battery ? I can't belive that this unit is designed to hold 1 load per charge , mflb does better than this lol.. :)

ok you may be right about the battery and maybe the unit when it comes to the weak purple light. is there a warranty?? i wasnt sure if these companies from china (I got mine from topgreen) offered warranties?? even so though..... airflow should NOt be coming out the USB and LED lights that is poor design and a warranty will not fix that

I posted about that and the battery issue above after speaking with topgreen. V3 it is...
So all in all the old x-max is better performing and has better battery life and airpath than the xmax 2 ?
Blah ,well soon i will be able to check for myself, cause friend got one comming.. It's sad that he pulled the trigger too soon :)..

since you are familiar with them... do they offer warranty?? i'm sure it would be expensive to ship back to china so i am not sure i will take advantage of it if there is but i would like to know. if you talk to them you can feel free to share my findings

My unit got the exact same problems as yours mmenzie. Or it started that way.. now its worse! Cant even get it on, never the less get it to heat. Ive pretty much given up on it. I have reported my problems to topgreen. I think I read in the manual about a 1 year warranty..?

Yeah don't knkw about warranty, I just assume with these cheapo Chinese ones there aren't any. Get what you pay for and all.

I do think it's a better device than the oringal xmax and Imag+ in design and function (I like the style, temps, mouthpiece, oven size, all better), its just the airpath isn't secure like FlowerMate, and the batteries they have are weak. They are now including two batteries in the package, and I imagine the ones I posted above are better performing than the ones it comes with. They just were able to get a large supply of them themselves

EDIT: was just told they have a way to isolate the airpath on this version. So with that, and potentially better batteries (I ordered the samsungs) perhaps V2 is alright afterall. Hopefully we'll find out soon

All 18650's I tried works (10C or not, flat top or button top, and differents mah) but some batteries seems to be hot after several sessions, most of them (2200-2600mah) give me 2 bowls(=6 or 7 sessions of 3mn).

The button is not a big problem to clic imo....if it last!

The weak purple led is not a big issue for me, although I might be more concerned about electronics components in the airpath (although if it's only wire and leds it's not a big issue...) and mainly about the not enough separated battery compartiment and airpath (if you blow where the battery ic connected to electronics you can feel it's not airproof), especially if batteries become hot...

Im in the process of having my v2 replaced. Had to make a video and show them it doesnt work. Just made the video now. Customer service is actually quite good, and 1 year warranty is fair enough.

I hope I can get one with isolatet airpath! Need to ask them about that, because im not in a hurry. Would rather wait for the cleaner airpath then having it replaced right away.

Anyone know if the v2 can charge stronger batteries? I think I will consider an external charger and a couple of batteries if I can get a replacement unit with isolatet airpath.

im surprised they made you that offer. i have been emailing back and forth with a rep there that sold me mine. i clearly stated my issues with it and i was "dismissed" on the first reply. when i wrote back and called them out on it i have gotten some very strange replies since then.

all in all.... i am not happy with the vape. the battery is weak, the purple light is dim, but most of all... i just dont know how safe it is especially knowing that the airflow comes from the USB charging port and the 5 LED's. the "airholes" on the upper chamber are not airholes at all. i have not opened it up, but knowing the air must travel over some electronics i am really not sure how safe it is to use. i cannot in good conscious recommend this vape at its current design

Yeah, agreed. I haven't really been using mine much at all anymore even though I now have the better Samsung batteries just sitting there. But yes customer service is solid, very communicative and glad to hear theyre honoring a 1 year warranty. Not too common for other cheap Chinese vapes

Last I heard they were still working on the new version too, earlier this week. I think once they make the airpath changes, even if battery life remains low (replaceable 18650s is a big win), this will be a pretty nice budget vape actually. Well designed and stealthy, with great temp settings. The weak purple light doesn't bother me in the least, its plenty visible. I think they will also change the button pressing and flashing lights on the new version

I gave up on the warranty process so no, they didnt honor the warranty. They never answered any of my questions(maybe a language barrier?) and claimed that they couldnt open the video i made for them. I got tired of sending mails back and forth without any sensible answers. Told them I would advise people to stay away from this product and that I was not gonna waste any more time with this unit. Never heard anything back after that. I did open mine up and all the electronics are completly exposed. Did not look safe at all, but i dont know much about electronics. I somehow got it to work like its suppose to but i dont think I will use it anymore either way.

I will not bother with these cheap vaporizers in the future, just tried this and the original x-max for fun since it was so cheap. Better to buy quality products and with Arizer finally out with a new portable I sure know where I will send my money next time!

Thats rather terrible of them, word spreads around here quick, by not helping you out they basically just crushed a bunch of potential customers....dumb move for a company.

Did you try your Samsung cells?

I don't use it a lot since the battery fail to fast....maybe there is a sort of protection to avoid to use a too low battery (maybe someone could verify with a voltmetre?)

These china's vapes are not very reliable, my Imag+ sits unusued (at least on the go) cause the broken mp and this one too cause the lack of autonomy.......

I actually still haven't, been preoccupied by my new Air and Elevape accessories (waiting to hear if they might even work with the Air...). With these two high quality portables I've been a little more reluctant to use the exposed airpath xmax. I may even end up waiting until they finish the updates before diving back into it... Or maybe loan it to someone

Just wanted to share that I heard from topgreen that they are close to perfecting the xmax v2 with the isolated airpath, and they were able to incread battery life as well to reach 18-22 sessions. Both really great news for such a promising budget vape, I'll review once I have a new sample after they finsish their final tests
