Multi-brand Xmax V2 Vaporizer (also Atmos Astra)

I received my unit today,it is a rainy day so I got more time for testing!

It comes well packaged, with a usb cord and an wall adaptater for charging, packing tool, brush, tweezer, wax cup, user guide and replacements screens.

The size, it is taller than my Xp, 05, I-mag+ but shorter than my T-vape (short tube +long battery), diameter is the same than my Xp but it is heavier than all others herbal pen vape I get.

No discernable factory taste or robot fart cold, a few when it was heating for quick burn off but nothing alarming!

5 clicks to turn it on/off, 3 clicks to select t°, battery level indication, it memorizes the last used t° and there is 5 t° settings (356, 374, 392, 410 and 428) and a 3mn autoshutoff.

Since it uses 18650 I was able to use one of my T-Vape battery into while the provided one is charging!

I loaded the ceramic bowl (exactly the same size than the Imag bowl) and put the mp in, this one looks like the T-vape mp (like rubber) with a little taste but not as strong than the T-vape mp imo (it don't fit perfectly in a 14mm or 18mm joint...)

I didn't measured the heating time but it's fast enough at 374 and 392, taste is decent, you get visible vapor at 374 and you get nice clouds at 392 and big ones at 410!

I like the 3mn autoshutoff not so short than the i-mag (2mn if I remenber very well) but enough to avoid to cook completly your load if you forget to hit it.

A very well built vape, it makes the job, I don't know how much it will be retail but if under 100$ it will be a nice vape, if it last!

Sorry for the back to back post but there is some updates to do, there is an issue with battery long life, I can get 20-25 mn maxi from a full 2200mah battery....not enough....maybe with a better battery it will last longer....any idea?

Performances are nice, it can handles ungrounded flowers very well, even the lower settings produce nice clouds, although the taste is not really improved imo....

It's the same threading than Persei...do you think I can power it with my Core (for scientific purposes only!)

How many sessions can you get in 25 mins ? and how long does the battery charges for.. I guess one can consider extra betteries with that one.. Herb chamber looks flowermates.. but i guess battery like is 1/3 of what's in the flowermate ,which is kind of dissapointing.. if it doesn't finishes the loads faster ofcourse..
From what i read , the best vape with that kind of chamber seems to be the Atmos Transporter (or whatever the original flowermate's version it was.. ).

There is a 3 mn autoshutoff, so I need 3 or 4x3mn to completly vape the load starting at low temp, there is some little bugs too cause sometime it doesn't want to stay on even with a full battery...?!

Since I get others battery it's not a big deal except for portability (if you need to carry more batteries), there is an automatic shut down if the battery is too low...I need to check if there is still power in to use my T-Vape for example.

I don't think there is too much difference about the heating chamber but I never tried the FM or the Transporter...there is more rubber taste than the Imag plus but I'm pretty sure it's coming from the mp!

Do you think it could be an issue if I use different batteries (in term of brand and mah but all 18650!)

@PPN every 10c 18650 battery should work.

I'm holding my review back for another couple of days, since I want to inspect the battery issue a little further!

i hope its not TOO much of an issue. i just authorized payment to topgreen this morning for one. so i will have one coming too. i got a good price i think so it shouldnt be too bad either way but i hope i didn't pull the trigger too fast

If i understood well more mah equal to more battery lifetime so can I expect to get more sessions with a 3600mah Efest battery (18650)?

I tried a 2200mah without any difference....

The rubber taste disappeared quickly, you can enjoy your flowers taste better at the 2 lower settings and big clouds above!

The manufacturer told me the wax cup I get is not the wax cup they plan to deliver with the unit, it will made of titanium...

Got my unit today. Just tried it one quick session. Seems like my unit got the same bugs. After I turn it on the lights flashes and when im to set a temp it sometimes goes black. Will test it more later.

I've had that issue a little, but I chalk it up to my mistake hitting the button improperly, bx once I carefully push it 3 times it changes temp. However I'm still running burn offs on mine, 7 so far at 428 with the cap off. Still have a slight off-new taste, so I did a quick iso swab of everything (a good idea regardless, just make sure the xmax is upside down so nothing drips down into the device), but still need to do more burn offs. I had to do like 15 on my Imag+ the first time.

The ceramic bowl and overall build quality is really nice here though, it actually feels nicer than the Imag in hand (at least the original ones, since the new plus isnt out yet) and much nicer than the T-Vape. Probably like a combo of the two and the Thermovape T1 a little bit in looks, with that thick black metal body. But it is actually rather short which is nice.

I also soaked the mouthpiece in iso for like 8 hours (removed the metal first) so now it smells/tastes like that instead of rubber at least, wish I had some coconut milk. But it should be fine after the first herbal session. Oh and btw, looks like the wider part actually can seal into an 18mm connection, will have to try that when i load herb to be sure though. I also pulled that extra tiny screen out of the metal piece of the mouthpiece. Seems unnecessary and like it would only restrict my draw, the holes in the metal look like they should work fine (like how I poked holes in my Imag+ mouthpiece screen, and like the T1 and T-Vape screens). There is also a slightly larger screen on the bottom of the bowl (the one that there are two extras for included) to keep the herbs from fallinf through the bottom holes of the ceramic oven, that one seems more necessary at least, but we'll see how it performs...

I also spoke to them and they are working to provide a stronger battery, they just have these 18850s for a starting point. Ive advised that they start including at least two in the box (ideally 3) and also an external charger for them as well. The usb charging is great, but it would be awesome to charge two while using a third or charging it as well while in the device. I know I could buy that separately too, but I think it should all be included to add value. He asked if I had any suggestions on developing a stronger battery for it, but I don't know ow too much about the exact science of it so maybe someone else here does? I'm going to suggest be apply to join the forum, so we can have direct contact here, but who knows with these Chinese companies...

I only did two burnoffs and felt like it didnt smell much after. Could not taste anything other then herbs on my first bowl(s). I cant find ISO anywhere in the country, been looking for years. But great advices in your post !

My unit does not work properly. I did the 6 hour initial charge and got it to work for one and a half session ( after a lot of failed attemps to get it on). I did try to use different speed while pressing the button but nothing works now. Some times it flashes those tre lights indicating its on but shuts down no mather if i press it 3 times for changing the temp or dont press at all. And when i try to get it back on it flashes red two times and shuts down. I dont know whats going on. Have only got it to work for 3x3 min.

Put it back on the charger to see if that helps. I think I may need a replacment.

I aslo got the original x-max today, since it was so cheap, and im very satisfied with it! If I can keep the mp working and clog-free it might become my new favourite dogwalking vape!

However if they fix the bugs on the V2 it will be the better unit imho. But 5 clicks ON/OFF is a bit silly. Way to much clicking if u ask me!

i assume you are from norway?! you should finde iso alcohol in your local pharmacy (at least in sweden you can get it there). otherwiese check out ebay and import some.

the 5 click thing is to avoid to turn on the vaporizer accidentally. i think they have adopted this from regular ecigs.

Yes. You could be right about the pharmacy, but my research online and local shops has not given me anything. Not really considered the pharmacy before, so thank you, i might check there now Everything I have found so far seems to have other stuff in them.

I know its a saftey feature but why 5? Isnt 3 enough? Just thinking about how long the button will last.

Update: I think the charging did the trick on my unit.. Seems to be working fine now! Kinda strange but its working so im happy so far. Just did 2x3 min session without any bugs, hope it stays that way.

Anybody know a good place to get some spare 18850s or whatever these are on the cheap in the meantime? An external charger included would be great too

i don't think a charger can charge these industrial cells. i have bought one for 18650 and it was not able to make contact with the battery, due to the missing stump on the plus side.

i bought my samsung battery on amazon

I never charged it without an external charger, and i swap the batteries since one give you 6-8 x 3mn session.

I'm thinking to try better cells, any idea.....?

What batteries and external charger are you using PPN?

For me to really put in time with this I'm going to need extras. A weak battery is at least manageable when they're replaceable. And I'm sure they'll find a stronger one eventually.

I'm still running burn offs and it takes a while with such low battery, so I just want to buy a bunch of spares at once for as cheap as possible. So its 18650?

Were the Samsung's you meant that pack of 25 for $330? Bc that's insane for me personally.

I did find these ones on eBay that seem good, but 3.7V no 10C. They all have external chargers to which would really help me as well. Anyone know if one of these would work, and if any are better than another?

according to the DHL tracking.... mine should arrive today. i am at work so by the time i get it it and then charge it, i doubt i will get to use it tonight. for the members that have one, any tips?? i too, would like to know about extra batteries and where to get some and a charger for them.

I had my first bowl last night, trying out each temp except for 428 (and only 410 at the very end). First impressions are very good, big clouds on the lowest setting even and draw seems pretty good. Not too restrictive and not too loose. However with the short path it can be quite harsh. I will try it plugged into my honeycomb bubbler this weekend, so that should help too. Overall flavor isn't stellar on this one so far, but it may improve with more herbal use, and with different strains (the one I used was my mustier one actually).

Battery js the number one issue. Well session length as well, but its related to battery. 5min sessions would be better, but you'd only get like two or maybe three with one battery. They are going to start including two batteries in the packaging I was told which should help,
But it would be great if we could figure out of one of my links above will work. I'd love to take this on the road next week, but without spares it'd be tough...

Aside from removing the extra tiny mouthpiece screen thats in the regular screen, make sure you do an light iso swab (with unit upside down) and run plenty of burn offs before use (I did like 15-20). I also recommend soaking the mouthpiece in iso for several hours to get it neutral. Its actually a pretty nice mouthpiece, good fit and shape, good 7-hole screen, and 18mm connection

mine arrived today and has been on the charger since i got home. still has another 3 hours or so before the 6 hour initial charge is completed. first impressions are is that feels good in the hand. and the mouthpiece is different from the imag but the same in other aspects. cant wait to try it later

on my third or fourth burn in this morning and i still smell an "electronic" smell coming from the uncapped and empty chamber. i wonder how long that will last. i really want to try this thing out. Mouthpiece smells very "rubbery" too, so i am sure that will effect the taste too

Soaking mouthpiece is a must. Mines totally neutral now. It went away quick unlike T-Vape and FlowerMate silicone mouthpieces. Also since the sessions are so short you need many burn ins, 4 sessions is only 12minutes. I burned down the battery like 4 or 5 times just with burn offs. Even then tastes isn't stellar, but it's not offputting like some others, its temps tend to cook through the taste quickly, even 356 somehow. You can start drawing during heat up and taste is good (like FM fixed temp and Imag) but it goes away quick.

thanks @Shit Snacks for the info. what about the open bottom of the heating chamber?? i know there is a screen there but you can look through the five holes at the bottom into the unit self. i got to believe that material will get down there into the guts of the unit and i dont think you can clean there. my Imag+ has a solid bottom to the heating chamber, wonder why they did differently??
